The New Program is ALL Alphabetical in that all departments divisions and classes will be listed that way. So, if we used to offer a class of Other Item not listed chances are it is still there that way or it may have been changed to Xtra Item Not Listed so that it comes at the end 5. Entry Fees Can ONLY Be Paid by Cashier s Check, Money Order or Check and must be received by the Closing of Entries or your entry will not count. For 2017, we cannot take CC or Cash. 7. The Entry Fees for FFA Livestock Have Changed All FFA Livestock Entries will be $15.00 per entry per class unless noted. Chapter Groups and Showmanship remained the same. 8. FFA Parking Passes are limited now to 2 Only per FFA Family and Exhibitor. 9. Premiums or Awards up to $ per class or division will be paid out in cash the Friday Sunday of fair in the Office or Livestock Office from 11am 1pm and the 3 weeks following fair in the fair office during normal business hours. After the 3 weeks time, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being the Yolo County Fair Property. Go to to Enter 1

Any Premiums or awards over $ per class or division will receive a check in the mail, and the check will be made out exactly as the entry was created and mailed to the address on the entry no exceptions so please check your entries carefully. 11. Premium Checks Must be Cashed within 90 Days. No Checks will be reissued & after the 90 days all premiums revert to being the property of the Yolo County Fair. 12. The Adult Livestock Trailer Requirements have changed to read all RVs must have their own power cord for either 110 or 50 Amp and that the YCF will not provide any. 13. Some of your old departments or divisions may have changed but none were removed so if you don t see it give us a call or come on by. 14. We added new classes in our Juniors Department so check those out. We now have a Division for Groups which will be for clubs, and other groups. Then we added School Taught Art or Crafts these are for teachers to enter their students works or for older students to enter something they took in a class. 15. Senior Care or Handicapped Adult has its own Department this year with all your classes for Clothing & Textiles and Arts & Crafts all in one location so look for that if you normally enter there. 16. Feature Booths are now under the Adult Agriculture Horticulture Department. 17. FFA Ag Mechanics can now be found under the FFA department. 2

6 Adult Stills Rules Please read these rules carefully before entering. State Rules are available in Fair Office or online at 1. Unless otherwise designated, all open departments exhibits are limited to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. 2. Check department-section information carefully for entry closing dates, receiving dates and release dates. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after closing dates. When applicable, entry fees must accompany entry form. There will be no refund of fees regardless of circumstances. 3. If the entry fee is refused by the bank, a penalty of $35.00 per transaction must be paid before the judging of the entry. 4. All entries will be accepted any time online after publication of this Exhibitor s Catalog. All entries must be received by designated deadline as stated in department-sections. Entry Office Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Online Entry help available see website for details. 5. All Items are judged using the American Standard System of Judging, unless Danish System is stated prior to Section. 6. The following definitions are important to the understanding of this Exhibitor s Catalog. American Standard: The judging process to rank exhibits against one another and award one first placing, one second placing, etc. if merited. Danish System: The judging process to compare each exhibit on its own merit against the scorecard or recognized standard and award as many first placing, etc., as merited. Exhibitor - The owner of the exhibit. Either the sole owner or a designated exhibiting owner. Exhibit - An object or collection of objects entered in a class. Entry - An eligible exhibit which is entered and judged. 7. Yolo County Fair Management reserves the right to screen, reject entirely, or accept conditionally, any exhibit that, in management s opinion, may be in questionable taste for the general fair and attending public. 8. Upon signature and submittal of entry. Exhibitors and their agents, parents, leaders acknowledge that: a) They understand the State Rules and the local fair rules; b) They agree to abide by them; c) They certify that all information on the form is true and correct; d) They agree to comply with the fair s decision regarding any violation of the rules, and e) In the case of established unethical treatment of animals or violation of drug policy rules, exhibitor s name will be forwarded to Fairs and Expositions. 9. Proper precautions will be taken for the protection of the exhibits, but Yolo County Fair or its representatives will not be responsible for loss by fire, theft or otherwise. The Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and save harmless 5

7 Association and the State of California, their officers, servants and employees from any and all claims, resulting from any damages, injury or loss to any person or persons, including all persons to whom the Exhibitor may be liable under any Worker s Compensation law and Exhibitor himself and from any loss, damage, cause of action, claims or suits for damages including, but not limited to, loss of property, goods, caused by, arising out of or in any way connected with the exercise by Exhibitor of the privileges herein granted. 10. Premiums or Awards up to $ per class or division will be paid out in cash the Friday Sunday of fair in the Office or Livestock Office from 11am 1pm and the 3 weeks following fair in the fair office during normal business hours. After the 3 weeks time, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being the Yolo County Fair Property. 11. The exhibitor (or parent or guardian of a minor) is responsible for any injury or damage resulting from the exhibitor s participation in the program or event. This included any injury to others or to the exhibitor or to the exhibitor s property. 6

8 Adult Agriculture & Horticulture Entries for All divisions close online July 14, 2017 All Divisions are in the Ag Business Building Other than Feature Booths & Yolo County s Bounty all other divisions entries are due to the Ag- Business Building Monday August 14, 2017 from 1pm 8pm All Entries must be picked up on Monday August 21, 2017 from 10 am 3pm in the Ag Business Building Agriculture & Horticulture Divisions are Open to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. Agriculture and Horticulture Divisions will have Placings 1st through 3rd Ribbons only in each class. Only Divisions with Premiums are Feature Booths & Yolo County Bounty Entries must be paid with check, money order or Cashier s Check & it must be received in the Fair Office by Entry closing date. Premiums (cash awards) are paid only in accordance with results recorded on the judge s sheets. Ribbons, etc. have no value as to payment of premiums. All Premiums or Cash Awards under per class or division will be in cash this year and will be available for pick up the Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Fair from 11am 1pm in the Livestock Office and for 3 weeks following the fair in the Regular Fair Office at 1125 East Street. At the end of those three weeks all premiums will be forfeited and will return to the Yolo County Fair. There will be a Best over All Awards in Each Division - 1st - $ nd - $ rd - $5.00 Agriculture Horticulture Sweepstakes are: 1st - $ nd - $ rd - $15.00 Exhibitor is limited to 2 Entries per class unless otherwise stated. When possible please provide the variety name on Entry Feature Exhibits Does Not Count Towards Sweepstakes Open to Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties County, Community & Organizations Exhibits Feature Exhibits (Booths) shall be limited to one entry by or for a county, community, and organization or non- commercial entry in this Department. Exhibits (Booths) must be maintained for the duration of the fair. Back Lot Parking Pass fee will be $20.00 per pass. All booths will have a minimum of a 6-foot back wall and 4-foot side wall. Booths must be cleared of all staples and tacks in side walls when dismantled. For all classes in this Department. Booths shall be reserved only when the Fair Office has received the proper entry and fee. Fire Prevention -All material and decorations must be flame proofed and are subject to Inspection by the fire marshal. Building Schedule: Starting August 10, building will be open to work on booths Thursday Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday Aug. 13 Noon - 5:00 p.m. Monday Aug. 14-8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 15-8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Booths must be completed by 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15. Entries close online 07/14/2017 Entries are brought in on Wednesday 8/09/2017 from 1pm 8pm Entries are Released Monday 8/21/2017 from 10 am 7pm Exhibitor is limited to eight (8) entries/one (1) entry per class including those entered in A Special Fair Theme Classes. All artists may enter the Artist s Auction to sell their own works (artists retain monies from sales). There will be a Best Over All Awards in Each Division 1st - $ nd - $ rd - $ st through 3rd ribbons only No Premiums in Individual Classes There will be a Paint Out at the Yolo County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Art demonstrations will take place on Thursday and Saturday afternoon. A walk through with a professional photographer will take place on Saturday at noon. We encourage and appreciate donations of art works or cash to the Benefit Auction which benefits Yolo County High School Art Departments. RULES: Open to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. Minimum age 18 years. All entries must be labeled on reverse side with the name, address, and phone number of exhibitor and section and class number in which it is being entered. All exhibits must be an original work of the exhibitor and completed within the last year: class assignments done under supervision are not eligible for judging and should not be entered. Copies of all or significant parts of reproductions of artworks or photos not taken by the artist are not original and violate the copyright laws: do not enter them. Second generation work, such as laser, photocopy, photographic lithograph, etc. Must be entered in Graphic or Print Class. We Accept only those Paintings & Drawings that are framed & wired securely for hanging. No clamp-type framing with glass or acrylic edges exposed and no Saw Tooth Hangers. Gallery wrapped canvases that are wired for hanging are acceptable. The Management reserves the right to reject any entries in this department. No painting or drawing shall exceed 37 x 37 Inches, including frame. Greatest care will be taken in handling, but no responsibility for loss or damage will be assumed by the Painting or Drawing Department of the Yolo County Fair or its agents. All insurance must be carried by the exhibitor. For the protection of exhibitors, no entries will be removed on the closing night of the fair. Wednesday Night Open Judging Must follow basic recipe exactly. Festive Fruit Scones 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 Tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 3 Tablespoons cold butter or margarine ½ Cup Diced dried fruit (apricots, apples or prunes) ½ teaspoon grated orange peel ¾ cup buttermilk 1 Tablespoon milk Additional Sugar In a Bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add fruit and orange peel. Stir in Buttermilk until a soft dough forms. Turn onto a floured board, kneed gently for 2-3 minutes. Shape into a ball. Roll into a 7- inch circle. Cut into 10 wedges, place on a greased baking sheet. Brush with milk, sprinkle with extra sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for minutes or until lightly browned. Yields 10 Scones Please bring all 10 scones in on a paper plate for judging Peanut Butter Oat Bars 2/3 cup butter or margarine melted ¼ cup peanut butter 1 cup packed brown sugar ¼ cup light corn syrup ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract 16

18 4 cups quick cooking oats Topping: 1 cup milk chocolate chips ½ cup butterscotch chips 1/3 cup peanut butter In a mixing bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, corn syrup & vanilla; gradually stir in the oats; press into a greased 13 in x 9in x 2in baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, melt chips and peanut butter in the microwave or over a double boiler until melted; stir until well blended and spread over warm bars. Cool Completely; refrigerate for 2 3 hours before cutting yields 4 dozen bars. Bring in 24 pieces on a paper plate for judging Zu-Key-Ni Dill Muffins 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour 1/3 cup sugar 2 tablespoons baking powder 1 tablespoon dill weed 2 teaspoons salt 2 cups grated unpeeled zucchini 2 eggs 1 ½ cups milk ½ cup vegetable oil ½ cup grated parmesan cheese In a large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients; add zucchini and stir until coated. Combine the eggs, milk and oil; stir in to the zucchini mixture just until moistened. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 400 degrees for minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean; cool for 5 minutes before removing from muffin tin to a wire rack to cool completely.
