With TOC on everyone s mind and hot summers who needs an excuse to head up north. We hope to see you out and around! Tuesday, August 8th American Legion Post #1 364 N. 7 th Ave, Phoenix, AZ AZPDC August Meeting (7 th Ave & Polk, close to where Grand Avenue meets 7 th Ave) Food is available for purchase until 7:00PM In This Issue Frozen PB&J Summer Treats Letter from the President pg. 2 TOC Rule Change pg. 3 June Trial Winners pg. 4 Banquet Sponsors pg. 5 Market Place pg Events pg. 7 Recipe Ingredients 1/4 cup strawberries, frozen 1/4 cup blueberries, frozen 1/3 cup natural unsweetened peanut butter * Ice cube tray Combine the strawberries and blueberries in a blender blend to a smoothie-like consistency You may need to add a tablespoon or two of water to get it thin enough Spoon the berry mixture into your ice cube tray, filling each cavity about halfway Freeze for at least two *Make sure your PB doesn't contain sugar substitute called xylitol, which is toxic to dogs

2 Letter from the President Hello Everyone, Our August field trial is fast approaching and I hope to see many of you there. It is hard to believe that our season is winding down already with only two trials left and then TOC. Of course, after that, it s hunting season! Due to the efforts of Nancy Graham working with the Forest Service, we were able to hold the July field trial. A big THANK YOU to Nancy! We had a full day on Saturday with 40 dogs entered and as usual Lesa Page kept everyone ready to go when it was their time to either run their dog or judge a brace. We couldn t do it without her! I would also like to thank Mike Ketchum for stepping in and planting birds for us. He did a fantastic job! Fields were planted and ready to go as fast as we could get dogs and handlers to the starting gate. Lastly, I would like to apologize to everyone regarding the Porta Potty situation at the last field trial. Nancy personally calls the company on the Friday before each trial to remind them to deliver the Porta Potty and confirm which field the trial will be held at. We are contacting another company to work with for future trials. Hope to see you at the August Trial! Joe Seitzer
