Novice Amateur Owner Handler - Not Offered Bred by Exhibitor Bitches American Bred Open Bitches BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. GRAND CHAMPION SELECT When quality warrants, after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are awarded, a Select Dog (SD) and Select Bitch (SB) may be chosen from the remaining Champions (Non Regular Class winners that are Champions and Qualify for BOB are eligible) - (WD or WB are not eligible) (AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 3, Section 14, Effective ). NOVICE CLASS ELIGIBILITY The Novice Class shall be for dogs six months of age and over, which have not, prior to the date of closing of entries, won t hree first prizes in the Novice Class, a first prize in Amateur-Owner-Handler, Bred-by-Exhibitor, American-bred, or Open Classes, nor one or more points toward their championships. BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in the class. BEST PUPPY CLASS ELIGIBILITY Best Puppy will be selected from the Puppy Class winners (6-9, 9-12) following the judging of Best of Breed & Award of Merit Competition. Only dogs not defeated in a Puppy Class are eligible to compete. BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY Best Bred by Exhibitor will be selected from the Bred by Exhibitor Class winners following the judging of Best of Breed & Award of Merit Competition. Only dogs not defeated in a Bred by Exhibitor Class are eligible to compete. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class for Best of Breed Competition. *Veteran Dog *Veteran Bitch (For dogs or for bitches seven (7) years of age and over) *Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. * STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in the Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular conformation classes or for Best of Breed Competition. No Stud Dog or his Get may be shown as a part of another unit. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy, or the standard for its breed. * BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. * Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. BRACE CLASS - Each Brace shall be composed of two (2) Rottweilers, with at least one common owner, to be shown in the ring at the same time. The dogs comprising a brace must be named at the time of entry. The entry form for each dog entered as part of a brace that is already entered in a regular conformation class or Best of Breed MUST be marked accordingly in the space for Additional Classes - Brace Class. Parade of Champions & Title Holders (PM Only) Dogs entered in this class may or may not be entered in a regular class, however, must be holders of an American or Foreign Champion of Record Title, Obedience Title, Agility Title, Tracking Title, Herding Title or Foreign working of conformation title. The class will not be judged. Please send a brief printed or typewritten resume of the dog along with your entry (will be condensed as necessary). Must be pre-entered. Each entrant will receive a Rosette with the Dog s name and titles imprinted on it. 5

6 SWEEPSTAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN ~ AM SHOW ONLY PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Rottweilers at least 6 months and under 24 months of age on the day of the show. Classes to be divided by sex and age. The winners of the 6 months through 15 months class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes Junior/Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes Junior and The winners of the 15 months through 24 months class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes Senior/Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes Senior. Best in Sweepstakes Junior & Best in Sweepstakes Senior will compete for Grand Sweepstakes Winner. All entries in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class in this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: Jr.:6 months and under 9 months; 9 months and under 12 months; 12 months and under 15 months. Sr.15 months and under 18 months, 18 months and under 21 months, 21 months and under 24 months VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Rottweilers 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: 7 years and under 8 years; 8 years and under 9 years, 9 years and under 10 years, 10 years and under 12 years, 12 years and older. The class winners will compete for Best Veteran Dog in Sweepstakes & Best Veteran Bitch in Sweepstakes. DIVISION OF SWEEPSTAKES STAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN 35% of total Sweepstakes fees will be retained for expenses. The remainder is divided as follows: Classes with 4 or more entries: 1 st - 40%, 2 nd - 30%, 3 rd - 20%, 4 th - 10% Classes with 3 entries: 1 st - 50%, 2 nd - 30%, 3 rd - 20% Classes with 2 entries: 1 st - 60%, 2 nd - 40% Classes with 1 entry: 1 st - 100% All prize money is paid in the ring to the person handling the dog. Undistributed prize money is retained by the Club. Money rounded to the nearest dollar. 10 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. Entries must reach the Show Secretary, Doris Bandoian, c/o Susan Gordon, 4 Seminole Path, Wildwood, FL 34785, by NOON, 12:00 PM (PT), Wednesday, February 6, Fees should accompany entries. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 2. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The CLUB will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 3. Exhibitors confirmations and judging programs will be mailed or ed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the Show Secretary. Confirmations returned by the Post Office marked Undeliverable will be held at the Show Secretary s office. Please being your confirmations to the show. 4. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly in order that judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ri ng when the steward calls for the class. Owner of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, it s owner or handler, when the dog s presence is needed in a judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler that waiting for dogs to be brought into the ring is a courtesy extended to the owner or handler of the dog. There is no rule of these clubs nor the American Kennel Club that requires a judge to wait for an owner or handler t o bring his dog into the ring. Show hours 7 AM to 6 PM. 5. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the judging ring by completion of the breed and the show secretaries office advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. 6. Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany the premium list. Rule books may be obtained from the A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, N.C The Club, the Show Secretary or the members or employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor/owner or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler/agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 8. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done at least 20 ft. away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club. 9. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Event Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fees for duplicate entry. 10. Only dogs that are eligible to compete to be allowed on the grounds. 11. The Club, may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof. 12. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 13. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. 14. A recording fee of 50 cents per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.) 15. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Confirmation judging at the show. 16. All persons attending this event hereby waive any claim for damages against the Club, or its, members, in the event a motor vehicle has to be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or improperly vented conditions. 17. All vehicles parked in VIP Parking Area without VIP Pass will be ticketed and fined. 18. Parents and/or Guardians are responsible for the actions of their children. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a time. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult.
