2 BILSDALE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY H E A L T H A N D S A F E T Y P O L I C Y Whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to Bilsdale Show it must be borne in mind that there are potential hazards at any agricultural show. Particular care should be taken when viewing animals or moving machinery at close quarters and safety barriers should not be breached. Parents or people in charge of children should be particularly aware of the need to protect them from hazards on the showground. Tent pegs and guy ropes can present a hazard near the marquees. A copy of the Society's Health and Safety Policy is on display in the Secretary's Tent and the Show's Safety Advisors are available to give advice on safety matters. Not to have been shown in any other class 10yrs & under 11 to 16 years GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS A minimum subscription of 18 shall entitle a member to be a Vice President ( 30 for a joint Vice Presidency). Vice Presidents are entitled to admission, car parking and luncheon tickets. Annual subscribers of 5.00 and upwards are deemed members and are entitled to one pass to the Showfield. All entry fees must be paid at the time of entering. All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor and where appropriate must have been grown by the exhibitor. All horses, sheep and other live exhibits must have been in the possession of the exhibitor not less than 12 weeks prior to the Show. Livestock exhibitors should also have their own public liability cover and take all due precautions on the showfield. All exhibits must be on the Showground by am and must remain there until 4.30 pm. They may only be removed before this time with the express permission of the appropriate secretary. All exhibits must carry the number by which they are distinguished in the catalogue. The committee is not responsible for any mistakes that might occur, nor for losses or accidents of any kind that might befall an exhibit, nor does it undertake any responsibility for the feeding or general care of any exhibit. All entries are subject to these conditions. No exhibitors will be allowed into the tents or rings during judging except, where appropriate, an attendant in charge of an exhibit. It is strictly forbidden for any attendant to communicate with a judge and anyone so doing will be disqualified. No exhibit must carry the name of it's owner nor any ribbons or medals which might distinguish the owner. The judges have the right to withhold any prize(s) at their discretion and their decision is final. All prize money will be paid out on Show day. Any prize money not claimed within 14 days of the Show will be forfeited. Any protest must be made to the appropriate secretary in writing before 4 pm on Show day and be accompanied by a deposit of 1 which will be refunded if the protest is upheld and forfeited if turned down. All protests will be examined by the Chairman and a quorum of the Committee. In this case, a quorum consists of any five members of the Committee. Any exhibitor who, to the satisfaction of the Committee, had knowingly made a false entry or attempted to impose on this Society or on any other Society established for similar purposes shall forfeit all prizes and be excluded from all future meetings of this Society and, if a member, be in addition expelled from the Society. Exhibitors should be aware of the need to arrange Public Liability Insurance to at least a cover of 1,000,000 in respect of their attendance at the show, confirm cover to include indemnity to show organizers. The Committee will not hold itself responsible for any loss, damage or accident whatsoever which may be sustained by a competitor, attendant, members of the public, entry or exhibit, motor or other vehicle or trade stand. Trophy winners are responsible for the safekeeping and return of their trophies by 1 st August following year. All exhibitors and traders must abide by the decisions of the Show's safety representative in accordance with the guidelines laid out in the Committee's safety policy.

Any competitor disobeying the judges, or officials, will be disqualified. No person will be allowed with the dog competing except the person working it who must take their place where the judges direct. The Committee will decide the time the dogs will be allowed to do the tasks and the Judges have the power of ordering up, as soon as they please, any dog that commits a flagrant error. The competitors must inspect the sheep, and any objections must be made to the stewards before judging commences. Breaking of any rules is under penalty of disqualification.
