Call and ask for Entry Office for more information. Friday, July 20 4pm Entry forms due, Entry Office Thursday, August 2 11am - 8pm Poultry entries accepted to the barn Friday, August 3 7:30-8:30am Poultry entries accepted to the barn 9am Show 1 Poultry Judging followed by Show 2 3pm Youth Poultry Show sponsored by RMPA Friday, August 3 6pm Poultry entries released Every effort will be made to follow the above schedule but due to unforeseen circumstances the schedule is subject to change. PREMIUMS ATTENTION EXHIBITORS The Entry office will process judging results as quickly as possible after completion of judging. Please allow 3 to 5 days. Notice will be posted in departments when premium checks are processed and ready in the Entry Office. The Entry Office will be open from July 27 th through August 4 h (8am to 6pm) and August 5 th through 9 th (9am to 4pm). Every effort should be made to collect your Premium Checks between these times. Premium Checks in the amount of $ or less may be cashed during these times in the Entry Office. All remaining Premium Checks will be mailed to you in the name and at the address provided by you on the entry form. A new W9 must be filled out if you have any changes to your name or address or if you are a first-time exhibitor at the Montana State Fair. 1
2 RULES & REGULATIONS 1. All participants at Montana State Fair events are responsible for reading the Montana State Fair GENERAL INFORMATION Section and complying with policies listed therein. This section is located at goexpopark.com under the Montana State Fair tab. 2. AGREEMENT TO ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS HEREIN STATED IS UNDERSTOOD WHEN THE EXHIBITOR SUBMITS THE ENTRY FORM. 3. All entrants must complete a W9 form at time of entry to receive any premiums. 4. Livestock exhibitors shall purchase admittance tickets. Adult and Youth exhibitors may purchase an Exhibitor s Packet for $20 good for 10 admissions for Fair week. With purchase of first Exhibitor s Packet, additional free passes are issued for every $50.00 of entry fees. Exhibitors may purchase individual tickets for $4.00 each. 5. ONE EXHIBITOR PER ENTRY FORM. All entries must be made in the name of the actual owner of the bird. 6. Each entry must be completed in full, including class code. Leg band number MUST be listed for each individual bird. 7. All exhibits must be examined by the superintendent before being allowed in the exhibition building. 8. Any animal showing symptoms of disease shall be removed from the building at once and cared for by the proper authorities. A representative from the Montana State Livestock Sanitary Board will be in the building most of the week and will help examine exhibits upon arrival. 9. Requirements of the State Livestock Sanitary Board as outlined in Chapter 12, Paragraph 1207, of the state regulations governing poultry shows will apply in this department. 10. All exhibits will be cooped under the superintendent s supervision and no exhibit may be removed from cages or handled in any many by an unauthorized person except by special permission of the Superintendent. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO. 11. All entries will be fed and cared for by the superintendent and staff. Send completed entry form and remit entry fee to Montana State Fair, rd Street NW, Great Falls, MT ATTN: Entry Office Designate on entry, SHOW #1 or #2 or both. 2. Premiums, ribbons and sanction points offered by this show. 3. Contact Montana State Fair (406) or Superintendent with questions regarding this show. 4. Completed entry forms, one per exhibitor, and entry fees made payable to Montana State Fair. 5. There will be a $.50 charge for each change made on entry form on check-in day. Not listing band #s will constitute a change. 6. Substitutions will be allowed only if replacement bird is of same breed, variety, age and sex as previous entry. 7. All birds must have leg bands to identify individuals. 8. Exhibitors are asked to dust their birds 7 days prior to check-in day at the Fair. 9. Handsome ribbons will be awarded in all regular classes on 1st thru 5th placings. 10. All Poultry will be judged in accordance with the current American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection, copyrighted by the American Poultry Association. 11. To win American Poultry Association medals there must be 10 entries in each class. Competition is open to all entries; however, APA awards will be issued only to those winners who are members in good standing. 12. 6 DIVISION 2: BANTAM CHICKEN 1. Only members of the ABA are eligible for ABA awards. Winners of ABA awards are listed in the yearbook under who s who in bantams. Starred wins are earned by champions and reserve champions when the number of birds in the class is 100 or more. For definition of class see the following listing: a. 7x9 plaque for champion and reserve champion of show. b. 5x7 plaque for best and reserve of class in classes of 50 or more birds competing c. Certificates for best and reserve of class in classes of birds competing. 2. To join the ABA remit $20 for one year (individual or family) or $50 for three years.
