Rules: Exhibitors entering this department must abide by the following rules: General Rules and Regulations Livestock Rules Department Rules Youth Pigeon & Poultry Department Rules ENTRY INTO THIS DEPARTMENT, USE: FORM - S Exhibitors will have until 5:00pm on February 28, 2014 to turn in complete entries and supporting documents for online entries. Complete entries include entry form with all signatures, and entry fee. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. Hand deliver complete entries and supporting documents to the fair office located at: Maricopa County Fair 1826 W. McDowell Rd Phoenix, AZ JUDGING: Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 10:00am. SHOWMANSHIP: Thursday, April 10, 2014, 3:00PM SMALL STOCK AUCTION: Fri, April 11, 7:00pm Auction: Exhibitor must indicate if they wish to sell a qualifying animal by placing a Y or N in the sell column of the entry form or online at time of entry. Once you have meade your declaration, you will not be allowed to change this declaration. If more than 2 are eligibile for the sale that were marked Y, auction committee and auction clerk will make the final decision as to which ones will sell. PIGEON/POULTRY EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: 1. Exhibitors may have three entries per lot and no more than a total of fifteen entries. One of these entries must be your showmanship bird. 2. All birds will be judged in the cages. Birds will be judged by comparison and the APA, NPA and ABA Standard of Perfection. 3. Birds must be at least four months old on show dates. All birds must have numbered leg or wing bands for positive identification. Band numbers must be included on entry form. Poultry must be dusted within seven days of the Fair s opening date. 4. Birds showing evidence of a contagious disease or parasites will be disqualified and returned to its owner. 5. Wings MUST NOT be trimmed. 6. All eggs become the property of the Fair. 7. Poultry will be fed and watered by the Superintendent, Assistants and designated volunteers. EXCEPTION: Please feed and water your animals before you leave on receiving day. 8. Eggs: Twelve per carton OR six for 1/2 dozen. Please state size (small, medium or large) and color. One egg in each entry may be broken at the discretion of the judges. Both external and internal characteristics will be considered in the judging of the eggs. 9. Each exhibitor will be eligible to be entered in showmanship. The contest will be judged on the exhibitor s ability to show his/her animal to its best advantage. Handling, fitting and selection of the animal are very important. 10. Poultry must have been raised by, or have been the property of the exhibitor for at least four months prior to the fair.
