1 2016 Columbia County Fair & Rodeo Livestock POULTRY All Livestock is required to go through Vet Check prior to entering the grounds. Vet Check hours are Sunday, July 17th from 9am to 12noon and 3pm to 5 pm AND Monday, July 18th 8am-10am and 3pm-6pm. All poultry must be in place by 7pm on SUNDAY. Please read the Animal Health Regulations and the Exhibitor Rules and Regulations. They will be strictly adhered to. NOTICE: 4-H ers may cross over their 4-H animals into Open Class. Open Class rules & regulations apply. GENERAL INFORMATION Check in time is Sunday, July 17th from 9am to 5pm. Birds found to have lice will not be allowed to enter the barn and may be disqualified. The American Standard of Perfection in Poultry and the National Pigeon Association Book of Standards will be the guide for awarding prizes on all varieties recognized. **NEW** Judging will start MONDAY, July 18th at 10:00 a.m. Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own food and care for their open class birds including stripping pens and bedding. EXHIBITORS MUST CHECK WITH SUPERINTENDENT FOR SPACE AVAILABLE FOR DUCKS, TURKEYS, GEESE AND ANY GAME BIRDS. It is required that all birds be banded. Entry fees for birds entered but not shown will be forfeited. No distinguishing marks will be permitted on coops until after the judging is complete and the Superintendent has posted awards. All birds will be judged by breed except Barnyard and Crossbreeds. Barnyard and Crossbreeds will be judged on the condition of the bird. There must be three exhibits in each breed to qualify for Best of Breed categories, and three exhibits in each class to qualify for Best of Class. NO SELLING OF BIRDS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE FAIR. ABSOLUTELY NO FOR SALE SIGNS ALLOWED. NO ENTRY CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER JULY 13, Entry Fee - $2.00 per lot entered. Fee must accompany entry form.
