Become a part of breed history and have the vital statistics of your Rottweiler documented. This survey is designed to be a learning tool for the present and the future. The certificate presented to the participants will include all pertinent information on the dog, as well as the measurements taken of the dog and a critique. The dog is also required to partake in a short heeling exercise on leash to demonstrate that the dog is under control. Measurement Survey cost is $40. Reservation Deadline is April 1, The Measurement Seminar is for individuals qualified to become an evaluator. There are certain criteria that need to be met. Measurement Seminar cost is $35. Reservation Deadline is April 1, 2005 Both Survey and Seminar require pre-registration and a completed entry form. 6 6 ATTENTION EXHIBITORS Welcome to the 2005 ARC National Specialty, hosted by The American Rottweiler Club. The show site will be available to Exhibitors at 8 a.m. Friday, April 8, Entrance gates to Purina will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best of Breed judging Sunday April 17, The Club will have total use of both large permanent tents with concrete floors (40x80). There will be plenty of space for spectators and holding area for dogs waiting to go into the ring. No grooming under tents, NO crating under tents, NO CRATING in the grass surrounding the tents or ringside. Near by Grooming tent will be available and electricity is available. Exhibitors are responsible for keeping their Dogs under control at all times & MUST clean up after their dogs in any area of Purina Farms. Remember that dogs need to be on leash at all times. There will be a designated area for bathing of dogs posted. Please remember that any complaints by Purina officials may result in an Event Committee Hearing. All trophies must be claimed at each event. None will be mailed. Cash Prizes will be paid in the Ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for such Prize Money MUST be made in the ring before judging of that class is over. The show-giving Club disclaims any liability for any Cash Prizes after judging of the class is over. All first-place and major award winners are REQUIRED to have a photograph taken by the official show photographers. Any first place and major award winner who does not wish to receive a personal copy of his/her photo is required to tell the photographer at the time the photo is taken. Requesting a photo be taken constitutes a contract beween the owner and/or exhibitor and the photographer. GENERAL INFORMATION AND SHOW RULES NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of event entry blanks. Single copies of Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Junior Showmanship Guidelines, Obedience Regulations and Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline may be obtained free from the American Kennel Club, 5580 Centerview Dr., Raleigh, NC ALL ENTRIES (Conformation, Obedience and Rally) will be from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Consult the judging program for times of judging. Dogs must be present for their scheduled judging time and may be excused as soon as they are no longer needed for competition. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES: Effective for all shows, dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed competition, provided this transfer is made by the Supt at least one half hour prior to the start of judging. (Ch. 14, Sec. 6, AKC rules) JUNIOR HANDLERS who win a third Novice Class after closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from Novice Class to Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least 1/2 hour prior to the start of any regular conformation judging or one half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show, whichever is earlier. ENTRY FEES SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Club will add $20.00 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in being put on a CASH ONLY basis. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. NO DOGS WRONGLY ENTERED in a class may be transferred to another class, except as provided in Ch. 11, Sec. 6, AKC Rules. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEASH except when in the Obedience ring. TROPHIES AND PRIZES will be awarded in the rings to persons exhibiting the dog. No awards will be mailed. ARC and Purina reserve the right to make prize substitutions of equal of greater value in the event a specific listed prize is not available.

12 The American Rottweiler Club Cordially invites you to A Presentation on Fresh & Frozen Semen Technologies featuring Stan Carter, DVM Thursday April 14, :30pm at Purina Farms Visitors Center Auditorium Stan Carter, DVM graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Dr. Carter spent many years in private practice as owner of All Creatures Animal Hospital, served as veterinarian in charge of Purina s research and development facility, and recently became regional medical director for Banfield, the Pet Hospital. Dr. Carter founded Canine Reproductive Technologies in 2001, a frozen semen collection and storage facility. He will present a straightforward, breeder-friendly talk on fresh and frozen semen technologies. 12
