5 NOTE: NOVICE CLASSES NOT OFFERED Bred by Exhibitor (BBE) Class Eligibility (revised 07/09) The Bred-by-Exhibitor Class shall be for dogs that are: Six months of age or older as of the first day of he show; Not Champions of Record on the date of closing of entries for the show; Individually registered with the American Kennel Club as of the day of the show; Owned or co-owned by any of the breeders of record as of the date of the show; The person handling the dog in this class must be a breeder of record and an owner of record of this dog. In any subsequent classes for which the dog from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class becomes eligible, there are no restrictions on who may handle. Non-Regular Classes Involving Single Dog Entries Veteran Class I - Class for dogs & class for bitches who are eight (8) years & under ten (10) years. Veteran Class II Class for dogs & class for bitches who are ten (10) years & under twelve (12) years. Veteran Class III Class for dogs & class for bitches who are twelve (12) years & older. THE MID-MICHIGAN GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE PRIZES OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE SHOULD ANY BECOME AVAILABLE. The following prizes are offered by the Mid-Michigan Golden Retriever Club unless otherwise specified. SWEEPSTAKES Judge: Mrs. Vicki White The Sweepstakes is open to all Golden Retrievers who are 6 months & under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Champions of Record are NOT eligible. The handler of a Sweepstakes exhibit must be limited to the owner, co-owner, breeder or a member of their immediate family as they are listed on file with the American Kennel Club as of the closing date for the show for which the Sweepstakes entry is being made. Dogs entered in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Cass. Indicate Sweepstakes and age division of the regular entry form under Additional Classes. Entry fee is $ Classification The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches. Puppy, 6 months & under 9 months Junior, 12 months & under 15 months Puppy, 9 months & under 12 months Junior, 15 months & under 18 months After 35% has been deducted to defray expenses, 20% of the balance will go to Best in Sweepstakes & 15% will go to Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes. The remaining 30% of the monies will be divided as follows: First... 15% Second % Third... 5% Fourth % All sweepstakes entries get a dog toy. VETERANS SWEEPSTAKES Judge: Mrs. Vicki White The Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Golden Retrievers who are 8 years of age & over on the day of the show. Dogs entered in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in a Regular Class. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the age division on the regular entry form under Additional Classes. 6 BREED PRIZES The following prizes are offered by the Mid-Michigan Golden Retriever Club except where indicated Best of Breed... $50 cash Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed... $25 cash Best of Winners... $10 cash Winners Dog/Bitch... $25 cash Junior Showmanship (Morning and Afternoon Events) AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be obtained from the American Kennel Club - (919) For additional information contact American Kennel Club, Junior Showmanship, P.O. Box , Raleigh, NC or juniors@akc.org. Entry blank MUST be filled out with the necessary information, otherwise the entry in Junior Showmanship will not be accepted. Novice Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open Class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. OBEDIENCE TRIAL CLASSES (Afternoon Event) Move-ups will be allowed. Qualifying Score Required for All Prizes. Dog means either sex. No refund for bitches in season. A Dark Green Qualifying Score Ribbon will be awarded to each dog receiving a qualifying score. Pre-paid catalogs will be available at the show secretary s table. Limited number of catalogs will be available for sale at the specialties.

7 NOTES TO EXHIBITORS The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 8:00 am on Friday, April 4, Crating and grooming in designated areas only. No carpets, playpens, ex-pens or any items that will use an unreasonable amount of space will be allowed in the grooming area. This will be determined by the event committee and WILL BE ENFORCED. The Mid-Michigan Golden Retriever Club, Inc. and its members assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility or injury to children. Canadian exhibitors must submit entries with checks drawn on US accounts or with International Money Orders in US Funds. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash only basis. No refund for duplicate entries. No refunds for overpayment of $5.00 or less. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures. Changes, additions, or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or by or telegram prior to close of entries. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Show Secretary advised at once. The Show Secretary and show-giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. The club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes are offered by the Mid-Michigan Golden Retriever Club through the generosity of its members and friends. No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any test in which this dog show is conducting. Obedience Trials Entries for Golden Retrievers only will be accepted until closing; at that time entries from all breeds will be accepted in order of receipt until the limit is reached.
