1 All greyhounds adopted from GAP are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, and health checked. During the foster process they quickly and easily make the transition from being a racing animal to pet. Such is the stringent nature of the GAP assessment processes, the Victorian government legislates that greyhounds successfully passing through GAP no longer have to be muzzled in public. Please note: There are no cat friendly greyhounds available today. Also, please check the whiteboard to see available dogs as the event progresses. The greyhounds in attendance today will go to the first suitable family. BUTTERFLY D.O.B 1/06/2011 Race Name: WHITE BUTTERFLY Microchip: We don't know how Butterfly got her name, as she isn't exactly white! But she is a pretty girl with an affectionate nature. She sometimes jumps up to show you just how much she loves you, so for this reason she isn't suitable for a home with elderly people or young children. She may suit a home with full time workers. Butterfly has a permanently blocked tear duct. It does not cause her any problems and is strictly a cosmetic issue. Our vet feels that surgery is unnecessary and it has no impact on her quality of life. Butterfly is best suited to children 6 yrs and over and doesn t need the SHOTGUN D.O.B: 01/01/2014 Microchip: Shotgun is giving you his biggest smile! When he arrived at GAP he didn't even know how to walk on the lead and he was terrified of everything! Since completing the Prison Pet Partnership Program, he now has come out of his shell and has learned how to work on the lead perfectly! Shotgun is looking for a quiet home that will further his education and continue his socialisation. He would be happiest in a home with another dog for company. Shotgun is NOT cat friendly. 2 SALMA D.O.B: 18/01/2008 Race name: TZAR'S GIRL Microchip: Salma is a grand old girl with a sweet nature who would love a quiet home where she is the only dog. Sleeping on her mat while you watch TV is one of her favourite past times. Selma loves people and is happy with her own company so she would be fine full time workers. Salma is one of our special needs dogs - she has an eye condition that is easily managed with daily eye drops. Selma is not cat friendly. Salma is best suited to children 6 yrs and over and doesn t need the NAOMI D.O.B: 28/11/2014 Microchip: Naomi can be a little shy to begin with but will soon come out of her shell. Once she does come out of her shell you will see she is quite energetic and playful. She may be ok on her own but would love another greyhound as company as that is what she is familiar with. She may be suited to a home with primary school aged or older children. Naomi has wagged her tail so much that she hurt the end of it and had to have part of it amputated. It is completely healed and causes no ongoing issues. Naomi is best suited to children under 6 yrs and prefers the BRUTUS D.O.B: 02/01/2014 Microchip: Bouncy Brutus just loves to play! He is still very much a puppy at heart and would be happiest in a home with another dog for company. He is super affectionate and will make someone a wonderful companion. Brutus needs a major dental so will need to be returned to GAP or our vet at Albert Park for this (GAP will cover the costs associated with this dental). 3 JED D.O.B: 21/11/2013 Race name: SIX THIRTY NEWS Microchip: Jed is a delightful big boy who is very playful he would enjoy having a canine companion to keep him busy if you're not around. He can still be quite sill and puppyish so would benefit from obedience training. He would be more suited to a household with adults or older children as he can be quite full on. Jed is best suited to children 6 yrs and over and prefers the BILLY ZANE D.O.B: 26/05/2013 Race name: TRANSKEI WARRIOR Microchip: Billy Zane can be a bit strong on the lead, but this is easily fixed with some basic training. He's a friendly, quiet boy who may suit a home with full time workers. Billy Zane is best suited to children under 6 yrs and doesn t need the BOB D.O.B: 13/03/2014 Race name: ABBEWIGE GOLD Microchip: Is there a dog shaped hole in your life? Can Bob help fix it? Yes he can! Bob is a beautiful big boy who loves to play. He has been around kids 8-10 years old hence his name 'Bob the Builder'. Cleo has an auto immune disease called Lupus which is easy to manage and does not affect her quality of life in any way. Its all about food in this dog's life. Cookie is a happy, goofy dog who just loves to play! He might be suited to a home with full time workers as long as he is walked every day and kept active and engaged. Cookie is NOT cat friendly. He does need some work on his lead manners or use of a training halti as when he sees somewhere he wants to go, he may just try and take you with him. He is quite food oriented so he should take training in his stride like everything else. He would prefer a home with company in either a robust dog or a person who is home a lot to keep him entertained. He may be suited to a home with children 10 years and over. 12 ZAC D.O.B: 21/08/2014 Race name: CHIEF FOURWHEEL Microchip: I can't wait to play with you!!! Zac is a friendly boy who can be submissive and puppyish with other dogs. He hasn't had a whole lot of experience of the world yet and will need a patient owner and another dog for company. He is a great dog and will make a lovely pet. Zac is best suited to children 6 yrs and over and prefers the ZEN D.O.B: 24/02/2013 Race name: COLD STARE Microchip: Zen looks like he is frowning in this photo, but he's just trying to hypnotise you into adopting him! She is very playful but enjoys her down time. She's the type of girl who would enjoy a quiet walk then a cuddle on the couch. She has spent time with small kids in her previous home and may enjoy them in yours. She also may be happy living in a home with full time workers. Rhianna has a heart murmur and tests have indicated she has a moderate aortic stenosis. She will need to have an annual heart ultrasound at our vet in Albert Park or Seymour and GAP will cover the cost of this.
