2 Page home of Deb Pampiks Evergreen Golden Retriever Club June Board Meeting Minutes Wednesday, June 3, 7:00 PM CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Light at 7:15 p.m. Nancy, Ane, BJ, Claudia, Deb, Sandy H, Angel and Bev and Jerry were present. MINUTES The minutes for the May 2015 Board meeting will be approved by the board at the next meeting as they weren t printed at the time. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT: Nancy. REPORT OF THE CORRESPONDING SECRETARY: Sandy. Sandy reported that the AKC members list was updated and approved and sent to AKC as requested by AKC. REPORT OF TREASURER: (Angel) Angel reported Checking and Money Mkt balances which are posted on the Members only website. REPORT OF COMMITTEES: AGILITY TRIALS June 12, 13, 14, 2015 Angel Angel reported that the entry level is low this year, less than 350. It was discussed if we should have only 2 days for the Specialty; should we have 2 a year; No coffee for workers and have a raffle with donated items. We still need workers for the AM shifts. BUDGET COMMITTEE: Angel Club budget is on members only website and the budget was approved for SPECIALTY 2015: Deb Deb reported that the specialty committee will have a meeting on June 9 at Pampiks to discuss what is needed for the Specialty, etc. Premium list corrections were made. We need to call Sheila Raymond to see if info about the CCA and the Gayle Watkins Seminar can go into premium list. SPECIALTY STEERING 2016; Nancy/Deb reported that we will have more info after the Aug. test HUNT TEST: June 27, 28, Jerry reported that he will be getting the birds. Our premium will be up on entry express on June 3, We can t list it any earlier because of AKC guidelines for clubs with a limited entry. Can only list it 2 weeks before test on Entry Express. Nancy is working on getting gunners. TRACKING: March 26, 27, Joan reported via Bev that the judges ( Sil Sanders and Franna Pitt) contracts are being sent to them. Joan is getting the application to hold the test next March ready to send in. GOLDEN WEST: Sandy- MEMBERSHIP: Bev and BJ- reported that we have 41 voting members and 59 non-voting members to date. We will mail out renewal forms next year with reminders starting in Nov. and at the Holiday Party.

3 Page 3 WEBSITE: Ane - PROGRAMS: June is the Ice Cream Social on the 25 th at Kirkland Library. July is field day arranged by Jerry. Sept. at Sherry s for fun day. Oct. is Golden Oldies. PROPERTY- Deb PUPPY REFERRAL Claudia. RESCUE- Ane. Six dogs in rescue at this time. JUDGES SELECTION COMMITTEE Claudia/Deb- The committee will discuss the responsibilities for the chairman and who might be chairman. AWARDS BANQUET: Claudia- Deb has agreed to chair the banquet next year. HOLIDAY PARTY: 2015 Angel reported that Connie will be chair again for this event. She always does a great job. WC/WCX: Jerry Flatcoat club will be holding this event on Sept. 19, SKC BOOTH: Sandy -March 2016 CCA: and Gayle Watkins seminar Sept. 12 and 13, Reservations are coming in. About 15 to date. EYE CLINIC: -BJ- clinic was very successful. The Drs. donated their fees, $990 to rescue. There was some concern that we should get info about the clinic to puppy buyers next time we hold it. HIGHLAND GAMES: Nancy DONATIONS COMMITTEE: Sandy, Kathy, Stacia and Joanne It is confirmed that $1000 is available for donations. 4 Page 4 Are you willing to help someone new? At this year's specialty we will have a sign up that says something like, "Would you like to learn more about the Golden Club or dog shows? Please ask!" We would have a list of people who have volunteered to spend some time explaining how the competition works, what's involved, and how to get started showing dogs. Several people have already volunteered, but the more the merrier! We don't know if there will be 10 people taking us up on this, or nobody, but we'd like to have this option available to anyone who asks. If you'd be willing to be one of the friendly, welcoming faces of the club at the Specialty, please let me know. Whatever area you are interested in is fine; we might not get people who want to talk about hunt tests, but who knows? If this turns out to be valuable we can do it every year. An Important Message from the Judges Selection Committee Greetings EGCR members, The Judges Selection Committee is following the new guidelines for selecting judges for the 2016 and 2017 specialties. We are trying to get this together quickly, so that when we know the date, and if we are doing the specialty with an all-breed club or separate, we can begin contacting judges that you, the membership have selected. We are calling for nominations for judges for the next two years. Attached is a list of judges who have previously judged for Evergreen GRC, Pacific Rim GRC, Inland Empire GRC, GRCA National Specialties, and also GRCA Western Regionals over the past 10 years. Please seriously consider whether judges who have recently held these positions, would draw a good entry before recommending them for our specialty. All members of EGRC, voting and non-voting, can submit up to three judges per category, to the committee. The categories include, Regular Conformation classes including Best of Breed, Sweepstakes (both Puppy & Veteran), and Obedience. Please your nominations to Kathy at billfisk1@gmail.com no later than August 15 th and include Call for Nominations in your subject line. Your nominations will remain confidential. Once the committee has compiled a list of names for the three categories, we will create a Survey-Monkey online ballot for members to vote on. Stay tuned for further directions on voting and instructions for families with multiple voting members. Angel Audette Judges Selection Hach Hachtel The Objectives of the Evergreen Golden Retriever Club a) To preserve the structure, soundness, temperament, natural abilities and personality of the Golden Retriever as described in the breed standard and to do all possible to bring their natural abilities and qualities to perfection. b) To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the AKC as the only standard of excellence by which the Golden Retriever shall be judged. c) To protect and advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike conduct at dog shows, field events, obedience trials and all functions and events where EGRC is being represented. d) To conduct sanctioned matches and specialty shows, field events, obedience trials and tracking under the rules of AKC and e) To educate members and the public in all aspects of owning a Golden Retriever. General Information General Meetings are held on the 4 th Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Check the calendar on the web site at The Board of Directors meets on the 1 st Tuesday of each month and members wishing to attend must call the President to state their business. Application for Membership: Prospective members must attend two meetings or functions before application of intent to join is accepted. Application forms may be obtained from Board members, the Membership Chair, or from the web site. Change of Address.
