Additional comments regarding your report: OIE Twinning Project on CBPP: - A project between IZSAM, as Parental Laboratory and Pendik Veterinary Control Institute (PVCI), Turkey, as Candidate Laboratory, started in 2015 was concluded, successfully, in July The Candidate Laboratory organised the Final International Workshop with more than forty-fives foreign and Turkish participants; - The National Animal Health Diagnostic Centre of Sebeta, Ethiopia contacted the OIE Reference Laboratory in order to present an OIE Twinning Project proposal for The OIE Reference Laboratory: Was involved in research projects on CBPP sponsored by GALVmed; Created and organised the Enhancing Research for Africa Network (ERFAN). It main task is to allow the Parental Laboratory to continue supporting the Candidate Laboratory once the OIE Twinning Project is concluded. The aim is to tackle the sustainability of the Regional Pole of Excellence, created after an OIE Twinning Project; Sequenced the whole genome of 44 Mmm strains, using NGS method, coming from Nigeria (17), Tanzania (1), Zambia (4) and historical strains coming from Botswana (3), Portugal (1), Italy (15) and standard strains (3); Provided also technical support and expertise to the International Livestock Research Institute of Nairobi (Kenya) to carry out research activities sponsored by GALVmed, to develop a live vaccine for Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia.
