10 DOG MEAT OBSERVE Biggest dog meat restaurant is in the area Few other RW Warongs (dogmeat stalls) are also visible Dogs continually reported missing in the area ANALYZE Ask the community s awareness about dog meat How are they with the activity Are their dogs missing? Are they annoyed by the existence? ASSIGN Material chosen: relating dog meat with rabies spreading Invite the head of banjar to hold movie night House talk with communities FOLLOW UP Observe the activity of the restaurant regularly Calculate possibilities of the closing of the restaurant Give reward for head of banjar for the cooperation
11 PUPPY DUMPING OBSERVE Big final dump site is in the area Many puppies and kittens were rescued from this area on a regular basis ANALYZE Ask the community how they feel about it and what they usually/ want to do about it Ask the garbage men about the frequency of dumping ASSIGN Material chosen: flyer with pictures, put up big poster in garbage site to avoid more dumpings Invite the head of banjar to create regulation on dumping live animals and sterilization day House talk with communities FOLLOW UP Observe the dumping site with community testimonials Give reward for banjar for the cooperation
12 RABIES REDZONE OBSERVE Highest rabid-biting case in Bali ANALYZE How clear is the level of rabies awareness that they have? Find out how many dogs are vaccinated and see how many strays are visible ASSIGN Cooperate with local husbandry for vaccination and sterilization day Spreading flyers, movie night and discussion with experts Inform them how to avoid biting and first aid of it FOLLOW UP Reward husbandry and banjar with plaque once the redzone status is gone
