5 Video: Cat and Dog Welfare around Us eading times Most of the public are anti dogs, it s good to see such a lovely article and video to popularize knowledge of cat and dog welfare. It s important to vaccinate your dog annually. This is proven to be the most effective and economical way to prevent rabies! Good for human and dogs. Prevention is the key! After you re bitten, remember to clean your wound, and vaccinate! As long as you re friendly to dogs, they don t bite you! The video is extremely useful, I already subscribed! Support China s Rabies Prevention and Control Invited by the Ministry of Agriculture, we compiled the report on the methods and achievements of rabies prevention and control in China Work with CDC on World Rabies Day, 28th September. Public educational campaign on social media with messages quoted from our video Provided our suggestions to 4 cities including Shanghai for local dog ownership and rabies management *CDC: Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

9 35 Dogs Rescued by Police from Illegal Dog Meat Industry As a result of Animals Asia collaboration, all dogs are safely housed at Qiming Chengdu animal shelter The dogs are in good condition and, with our support: all have been vaccinated all have been provided with food and relevant medical care and now up for adoption by the public

11 Stray Cats TNR (Trap Neuter Return ) In-depth Training Joining hands with Beijing Lucky Cats and giving in-depth TNR training to 60+ volunteers from 6 local groups in 5 cities During the 5 th Animal Protection Summer Camp for University Students, over 40 students were taught the basics of stray cat TNR

14 International Conference Banning Dog Meat Consumption 23 rd -27 th November Seoul, South Korea, organized by local group CARE AAF speech topic: Current situation of China dog meat consumption and work experience to smash the dog meat industry Visited CARE s office, and meetings with CARE staff following conference
15 Revealed Truth of Cat and Dog Meat Industry to Authorities: Distributed research results of our cat and dog meat trade investigations in China to the FDA in 6 cities, and the national FDA in Beijing Distributed the research results and suggestion letters to NPC (National People's Congress) members of Guangdong, Anhui, Jiangxi provinces, and Wuhan city, to assist in their submission of proposals calling for antianimal abuse, banning cat and dog slaughter and the meat trade Positive Response from the National Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Authority advised they will strengthen public education and law enforcement to ensure consumer food safety
16 Outcome of Restaurants reported to China Authorities : 1,086 dog meat restaurants reported to government 130 dog meat restaurants forced to stop selling dog meat or shut down Hundreds of thousands of dogs avoid tragic fate of being food dishes as a result of this project.
17 Outcome of Dog Meat Products Reported to Taobao: Taobao (online shopping platform) banned dog meat and bear bile products from all its virtual stores in 2010 after meeting with Animals Asia staff May 2017: Animals Asia discovered dog meat product for sale under alternative names Taobao acted swiftly and pulled more than 130 products in June 2017 Continue following up and reporting dog and cat meat products on Taobao and other websites when posted
18 Investigation of Dog Meat Industry in Guizhou Province: in-depth investigation of dog meat industry in Guizhou Province Team : 3 AAF staff + 3 volunteers 6th -12th November open markets, 1 slaughterhouse, 2 supermarkets, 1 meat wholesale market, several restaurants
19 Friends or Food Posters Circulated across 30+ Cities Dispatched 10,000 Friends or Food posters to nearly 40 organisations and individuals in 30 + cities The posters assisted in multiple public campaigns, exposing the truth of the dog and cat meat industry
20 Thank you Sir! Sent thank you banners to 11 governments in 9 cities to praise and encourage police for striking the dog meat industry

23 Professor Paws Ambassadors Teach Students To Care for Animals 110 lectures 130 public education activities 6,000 students in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Chengdu 8,600 people learned about caring for animals, being a responsible guardian, and why we should not eat dogs and cats

25 Video Promotion : Cat and Dog Welfare Around Us Animals Asia s educational video Cat and Dog Welfare Around Us has been played over 3,300 times, in 32 cities, to an audience of over 100,000 viewers. Video played in classes over 200 times in 76 schools and 58 organizations. 15,000+ students have enjoyed and learned from the video Video rolling across screens of veterinary clinics, public campaigns, educational organisations over 3100 times. Over 88,000 people have viewed and learned about cat and dog welfare.
26 Advertising in Yulin Caring for Animals Public Service Advertistment in Yulin, September, advertisements in Yulin bus stations attracting over 300,000 people sharing the concepts of caring for animals, being a responsible owner
27 A Game for Responsible Dog Ownership Together with a local media company in Guangzhou, we released an online H5 game to popularise responsible dog guardianship The online game attracted pop stars such as Jeff Chang and Karen Mok, and helped to distribute the message to over 9000 people
28 Leaflet Distribution across China Educational leaflet distribution across China (including Friends or Food posters) 22,694 brochures, posters, and banners reached 60 organisations and individuals 41 cities across the country read by over 110,000 people
29 2018 China Cat and Dog Welfare Calendar 12 children and adults recovering from mental illness donated their paintings of cats and dogs for our calendar They are from 5 organisations that are regularly visited by our Dr Dogs in Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen We gave the calendars back to the artists as gifts and thanked them for their kindness and creativity!
