For registration information, see specific animal species. ATTENTION: Livestock Interviews will be conducted at the Henry C. Stock Livestock Show Arena on: Tuesday, July 19, 4:00 7:00 p.m. Interviews are not mandatory, but highly recommended. PLEASE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOUR LIVESTOCK INTERVIEW by going to signupgenius.com or by calling the Extension office. A Champion will be selected in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions in all the above categories. In Swine only, a Champion will be selected and will win a State Fair trip along with your pig. CLUB HERDSMANSHIP A special prize is available to all 4-H Clubs through Herdsmanship. Clubs will be evaluated daily on cleanliness of pens and animals, stall cards in place, and the courtesy of the exhibitors present. The awards will be earned by a combination of the four days total. First and second placings will be awarded to the clubs. It is the responsibility of each participant to keep pen and animal clean at all times. 4 C001009: Dog - Jumpers III DOG OBEDIENCE C FOUNDATION - A 4-H er and his/her dog who is in his/her first year of training at home or in an organized class. The 4-H er may participate in this class only once during their 4-H career. If a 4-H er does not receive a blue ribbon in Foundation, they will move to the Beginner class next year. All exercises will be performed on leash. Exercises include heel on leash & figure eight, stand for exam, grooming, recall and long sit/down. A dog entering this class with more than ten (10) weeks of training prior to enrolling in beginner level training classes for 4-H is ineligible. A dog having achieved one leg of its AKC-CD (or its equivalent) is ineligible. C BEGINNER - A 4-H er having previous obedience training experience but who is working with a new dog or a dog with previous experience in an organized training class, working with a new 4-H er or a 4-H er and their dog who has not yet received a blue ribbon in Foundation. All exercises will be performed on leash. Exercises include heel on leash & figure eight, stand for exam, grooming, recall and long sit/down. The 4-H er working with the same dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon. A dog having achieved one leg of its AKC-CD is ineligible. ** Once a 4-H er has received a blue ribbon in Foundation or Beginner, they will advance to the Graduate Beginner class. ** A 4-H member using a dog which has previously been shown through Novice class shall begin training in Graduate Beginner, regardless of the age of the 4-H member. C GRADUATE BEGINNER Exercises include heel on leash & figure eight, stand for exam off leash, grooming, recall off leash, long sit/down off leash. A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog having achieved one leg of its AKC-CD (or its equivalent) is ineligible. C GRADUATE NOVICE - Exercises include heel on leash, stand for exam off leash, heel free & figure eight, moving drop on recall, willing retrieve from hand, and out of sight sits/downs. A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog with one leg of its AKC-CDX (or equivalent) is ineligible. 4 C PRE-OPEN All exercises are performed off leash. Exercises include heel free & figure eight, drop on recall, dumbbell recall, recall over broad jump, and out of sight sits/downs. A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog with an AKC-CDX (or equivalent) is ineligible. C OPEN - All exercises are performed off leash. Exercises include heel free & figure eight, drop on recall, retrieve on flat, retrieve over high jump, broad jump, and out of sight sits/downs. A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog with an AKC-CDX (or equivalent) is ineligible. C GRADUATE OPEN - All exercises are performed off leash. Exercises include signal exercise (with 10 foot distance for down, sit, come), retrieve on flat for placed metal article, retrieve on flat for placed leather article, directed retrieve (with two gloves), broad jump, and moving stand and exam. A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog with an AKC-CDX (or equivalent) is ineligible. C PRE-UTILITY - All exercises are performed off leash. Exercises include signal exercise (at full distance), scent discrimination (with 2 metal and 2 leather articles), directed retrieve (with all three gloves), moving stand and exam, and directed jumping (with heel out). A 4-H er and dog may participate in this class until receiving a blue ribbon at the county or state show level. A dog with an AKC-CDX (or equivalent) is ineligible. Additionally, if a 4-H member participated in the Utility obedience class in 2015 and did NOT receive a blue ribbon at the county or state show, they may drop back to the Pre-Utility class for C UTILITY - All exercises are performed off leash. Exercises include signal exercise, scent discrimination, directed retrieve, moving stand and exam, and directed jumping. There are no restrictions in this class. A 4-H er may participate in this class with the same dog indefinitely. C VETERANS OBEDIENCE is for dogs that are too old and/or unfit to jump. Dogs must be at least seven years old. Dogs must be trained through the Graduate Novice (or higher) level. If a dog under the age of seven years has been found unfit to jump (broad jump and high jump) by a licensed, practicing veterinarian, it will be allowed to compete in this class. If entered in this Veterans Obedience Class, the participating dog will not be allowed to compete in any other obedience class other than Brace and 4 Dog Team. Participation in agility will also not be permitted. Showmanship participation is permitted and encouraged. Once a dog competes in Veterans at the county show level, it can never again be shown in any agility class or other obedience class (other than Brace and 4 Dog Team), even if being trained and

5 exhibited by another 4-H er. The Novice scorecard will be used for judging. A 4-H er may participate in this class with the same dog indefinitely. C BRACE - For a 4-H er with two dogs of their own or those who wish to borrow/lease a dog if they do not have two dogs of their own. (A third dog may not be used for Brace.) No particular level of training is required or prohibited in this class. The Graduate Beginner score sheet will be used for judging. A 4-H er may participate in this class indefinitely. C DOG TEAM: For 4-H ers wishing to work together in training their dogs to perform as a unit of four. No particular level of training is required or prohibited in this class. Exercises include heel on leash & figure eight, stand for exam off leash, team uniformity, recall off leash, long sit/down off leash. Dogs will be called simultaneously. The 4 Dog Team score sheet will be used for judging. One alternate is allowed to be named if the team desires. The alternate must be named at the county fair or qualifying show. The five names may be registered as exhibitors, as long as one of the five names is listed as the alternate. 4-H members may only be listed on one team each year. No substitutions may be made. For teams qualifying for the State Dog Show, the registration fee is charged for four exhibitors. The named alternate may compete in place of one of the original four team members. C TRAINING AT HOME CLASS -This class is limited only to members and dogs who have not participated in any organized obedience training classes. Participants in this class will not be eligible for State Dog Show. DOG SHOWMANSHIP C SHOWMANSHIP JUNIOR NOVICE - The 4-H member must be entering 4th through 8th grade. Judged entirely on the member's ability to groom and show their dog by breed standards of that dog. A crossbred dog should be shown and groomed by the breed standard it resembles. Conformation of the dog is not evaluated in showmanship. C SHOWMANSHIP OPEN JUNIOR - After the 4-H member has achieved a blue ribbon in Junior Novice Showmanship, at the county level, they must move to this class until achieving the age requirements for the Senior Novice division. C SHOWMANSHIP NOVICE SENIOR - The 4-H member should have completed 9th grade through age 19. Judged entirely on the member's ability to groom and show their dog by breed standard of that dog. A crossbred dog should be shown and groomed by the breed standard it resembles. Conformation of the dog is not evaluated in showmanship. 5 C SHOWMANSHIP OPEN SENIOR - After the 4-H member has achieved a blue ribbon in Senior Novice Showmanship, at the county level, they must move to this class. All horses must be stalled by 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 OR EARLIER. All participants must attend the Horse meeting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Horses must remain at the fairgrounds until 8:00 p.m. Saturday. 2) 4-H er and horse MUST participate in Showmanship at Halter this is mandatory. 3) No horse is allowed to be stalled if it doesn t enter into one or more events. Horse in Training will begin the Show at 8:00 a.m., followed by the all other classes.
