2 Welcome to our 10 th Annual Bull Sale Welcome to our 10th annual T BAR K Ranch bull sale! Thank you so much to those who have supported our program over the years and continue to source your bulls here. Your belief in our program is why we continue to do what we do. To those of you new to our program make sure to introduce yourself to both Kim & I. Once again we are offering up a great set of bulls. We are very critical of our cow herd and have been working very hard over the years to create a cow herd that we are exceptionally proud of. Thus we would like to address the rumours circulating around the industry that we are quitting the Red Angus bred. The answer is NO. We do have our mature cows listed for sale by private treaty. We are certain that these females will go on and do great things. We are even more certain that the herd of bred heifers and heifer calves that we now have will go on and make exceptional cows for us. Giving us the ability to remain suppling you our customer with sound, solid hardworking bulls. When selecting your next herd sire from us, we ask that you keep in mind a few things. When we give our star rating on calving ease we are giving you a tool for selecting a heifer bull for yourself. When we rate a bull with one star we are telling you that this is a bull that should be used on cows. In the past few years we have noticed a trend where people are staying away from the one star rating. Don t. Go back to the bull pen and look these bulls over, select your cow bull based on shape and structure while keeping your cow herd in mind. Genetics have told us that if we keep selecting based on birth weight we are going to be backed into a corner soon with our cow herds. We need to get back to the basics again when it comes to bull selection, numbers are a great tool but we firmly believe that the eye is still the best tool we can use. We do not have bulls in this sale that we feel shouldn t be breeding bulls. Our business is still one that we get paid by the pound. I think that we need to remember that when selecting our next herd sire. We welcome you to stop in prior to the sale and view the bulls the cow herd, and a visit. Bulls are great heifer bull breeding pieces with a punch. His females are those soft made, deep sided, easy fleshing, broody young heifers we are all trying to breed. We didn t know what we had with Packer 133Y until his daughters came into production. They are outstanding, dark red, big bodied, easy doing, great uddered, producing machines, that take away birth weight and add doing ability. Impact will make an impact on someones herd.
