The weather is not too hot and there are many shady spots to sit comfortably to share conversation with friends. A light breeze is almost always blowing making it very pleasant. It's important to get natural light for at least 30 minutes a day. Enjoy the weather and the beauty of our courtyard. An Arab Love-Song By Frances Thompson The hunchèd camels of the night Trouble the bright And silver waters of the moon. The Maiden of the Morn will soon Through Heaven stray and sing, Star gathering. Now while the dark about our loves is strewn, Light of my dark, blood of my heart, O come! And night will catch her breath up, and be dumb. Leave thy father, leave thy mother And thy brother; Leave the black tents of thy tribe apart! Am I not thy father and thy brother, And thy mother? And thou, what needest with thy tribe's black tents Who hast the red pavilion of my heart?

16 Maintaining Mobility Through Exercise It s something we ve heard for years - exercise can help older adults maintain their mobility and avoid physical disability. But you don t have to take our word for it, a study from the University of Florida has proven it. In 2014, the study proved that daily moderate physical activity may make the difference between seniors being able to keep up everyday activities or becoming housebound. Furthermore, the study proved that moderate physical activity helped aging adults to maintain their ability to walk at a rate 18% higher than their counterparts who did not exercise. The very purpose of the study is to provide definitive evidence that physical activity can truly improve the independence of older adults, said principal investigator, Marco Pahor, Ph.D., Director of the Institute on Aging for the University of Florida. The study demonstrated that a modest increase in physical activity has the potential to help older adults maintain functional independence. The Live 2 B Healthy program aims to help seniors do just that - maintain their independence. Every participant in our Live 2 B Healthy programs is tested 3 times per year to measure improvement in balance, flexibility, strength and endurance. These tests results are provided to the individual so they can monitor and measure their progress. My goals are to remain independent by maintaining my strength and mobility. I find that attending the Live 2 B Healthy program, it fulfills that purpose and also gives me a chance to meet my neighbors. Live 2 B Healthy exercises are specifically designed to tackle issues that the aging face such as loss of balance, mobility and muscle tone. Our trainers also provide modifications for those with specific limitations so that everyone can be successful. u u
