2 Resident Barbara Clark Barbara Clark is one of our newer residents, having moved in the first part of June. She has always lived in Michigan, being born in Lowell, and living in various locations throughout such as Lyons and Belding area. Barbara is the oldest of 3 children, having 2 younger brothers. Over the years Barbara raised not only her own 5 children, but lend a helping hand to many different people when they were in a time of need. Barbara has worked several jobs, but her main profession was as a sewing machine operator sewing car seats for GM in Grand Rapids, 29 1/2 years to be exact! Previously in her spare time Barbara enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and assisting with bible studies. Currently she enjoys books on tape, and crossword puzzles. Resident Jackwyn Miller Jackie is from Michigan, having been born in Byron Center. She has seven siblings, of which she is the oldest girl. When she was 12, her family moved to Big Rapids. She said that was quite a change, moving from what was out in the country at that time, into the town of Big Rapids. Jackie there married her husband Charles, with whom she had 2 daughters, and one younger son. She is proud of the fact that she and her husband have been married for 58 years! Jackie has had several jobs, she worked at JCPenney for a time, and the theater in Big Rapids as well. For quite a few years she even ran the telephone board for Ferris. Jackie's job she is most proud of was the ceramics business she ran that was attached to her house, and that she worked for her church, organizing the luncheons and much more. Jackie enjoys all types of card games, and of course crafts. Prayers and condolences to the family and friends of John P. Erickson. He will always be remembered as a true gentleman. We at Royal View were blessed to have had him in our family.
3 Administrators Corner Laura Jennings, RN July is one of my favorite months of the year. Its full of sunshine, warm temperatures and fireworks. The staff looks forward to being outside with the residents and enjoying these great summer days. The Royal View family would like to wish all of you a Happy and safe Life Enrichment Danielle Long, LEC Hi everyone! I am excited to share a few things. Recently I had the privilege to attend a seminar by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners regarding Alzheimer's disease and Dementia care. There were many things I learned from this class, and am looking forward to implementing in our home moving forward, especially in our memory unit. You will see a few changes in our monthly activity calendar, and our daily sheets as well. I am also always looking for ideas and suggestions as well! Home Manager Brittany Bentley Brittany Bentley has recently stepped into the position of our Home Manager. She has always lived in the area, growing up in Barryton. She was raised with 7 siblings, of which she is the oldest. She is a graduate of Chippewa Hills, where she has also assisted as the high school cheer coach, and head coach for middle school cheer. Brittany is engaged to be married April 2019 to Josh, her boyfriend of 3 years. Together they have a 14 month old little girl, Emrii. Brittany has worked here at Royal View for 3 1/2 years, as a DCW and helping out in the kitchen when needed, before coming into the Home Manager position. One of her favorite things about Royal View is how close everyone is, like a family. In her free time, Brittany loves doing anything outside; fishing, kayaking, swimming just to name a few of the activities.
