5 JUDGES PROFILES Wendy Heidt () Kotchera Cattery specialised in Siberians and started when the breed was in miscellaneous status with CFA. I felt it was important to assist others in understanding the wonderful qualities of the breed. CFA recognized Siberians for Championship Status starting in May Once that happened I was proud to have granted the first Grand Champion and Grand Premier. At the end of the first season my cats had also earned the first Regional wins (in both Championship and Premiership) and National Breed win for Siberian. Shortly thereafter, my foundation queen had earned the first Distinguished Merit award for a Siberian as well. I have been a member of many show producing clubs in the Northwest region of CFA and been a show secretary or show manager for dozens of shows including the 2017 CFA International show in Portland, OR. I currently hold a CFA Master Clerk license and serve as a member of the CFA judging program on a committee. I have been a member of the Siberian Breed Committee and Breed Council since It has been my pleasure to work with many breeds through my years of exhibiting and judges training. Besides Siberians, other longhair breeds I have worked with include: Turkish Angora (earning a National Win and National Breed Win), Maine Coon, Parti Color Persian, Bi Color Persian, and Exotic. My shorthair specialty is Chartreux. I worked with several cats earning Regional wins and even a National Breed Win. Other shorthair breeds include Abyssinian, Bombay, Devon Rex, Oriental Shorthairs, and Somali. Kit Fung () Kit Fung, from Hong Kong, is a CFA Approved All Breed Judge. Kit registered Kit Cattery in 2006 and mainly breeds American Shorthair. His cattery obtained 3 NWs, 1 RW, 20+ DWs and 2DMs. Kit obtained the first NW ASH which is registered in Asia Division. During Kits showing career, he also used to show Manx, Oriental Longhair, British Shorthair, Exotic, Persian and Maine Coon in CFA. Moreover, Kit has been many places for his judging experience such as Asia, Europe, Japan and USA. Besides his hobby of breeding and showing cats, Kit also likes travelling, listening music and playing sports. Douglas Myers () In 1983 after the passing of my silver tabby Persian my partner Allen Scruggs and I went to a cat show to find a replacement Persian. Instead we found a breed we didn't know, Japanese Bobtails, and fell in love with a particular cat named McGregor who was being shown in premiership. We bought him and starting showing him and he ended up being 2ND BEST CAT IN PREMIERSHIP the next season. We then decided we wanted to breed and show these wonderful cats so started a 27 year long breeding program. We produced 15 national winners, 17 DM s, and 105 grand champions /grand premiers. We also showed a black Persian to 2nd best cat in premiership. In 1993 I thought it would be fun to become a CAT Fanciers Association judge and entered the judging program and became an Allbreed judge in I have judged all over the USA and the world. I presently live in Thailand. Debbie Prince (TICA) My name is Debbie Prince, and I reside in beautiful Northern California in the United States. My husband and I have four amazing children who have all grown up in the cat fancy. They all still love attending shows and working at them. It has become quite a family tradition! I started breeding Ragdolls, and also bred Ocicats for a time. I decided to become a judge when I started clerking and realized I loved too many breeds! Now, I get to play with lots of beautiful cats but they don't all live with me. My interests, besides my family and animals, are cycling, racquetball, hiking, traveling, reading, and learning new things! I have a Master's degree in Social Work and enjoy helping people in various walks of life. I am very honored and excited to be judging this amazing show in Australia! pg. 5

6 Nick Pun () Nicholas Pun is an Approval Pending Allbreed Judge in The Cat Fanciers' Association. Nicholas attended graduate school in Canada and began showing in CFA and CCA (Canadian Cat Association) at that time with his first show cat, a Scottish Fold. His cattery, Dragonhill, has been CFA registered since He began breeding with both longhair and shorthair Folds, but soon branched out into other breeds: American Shorthairs, Ocicats, and most recently, Japanese Bobtails. He has produced numerous grands and Divisional Winners (the Hong Kong equivalent of a Regional Win). One of his American Shorthairs, Dragonhill Steel Magnolia, was CCA s Kitten of the Year for the show year, and this year he also celebrates his CFA National Win, with a Japanese Bobtail, NW Dragonhill Ponyo. Nick was licensed in 2014 but has already judged CFA shows in Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and all over China, as well as Hong Kong, and was recently invited to guest judge in Australia. He is the founder and president of the Hong Kong and Macao Cat Club and a contributing writer for one of Hong Kong s cat magazines. Nick s experience with other breeds is impressive. Even before entering the judging program, he had introduced several breeds to Hong Kong and helped promote them to the public via the cat magazine. In addition to the shorthair breeds already listed, he has also exhibited Abyssinians, Devon Rex, Russian Blues, Siamese, and Somalis. He exhibited the first Turkish Angora ever shown in Hong Kong; other longhair breeds he has worked with include Exotics, Persians, Birmans, Ragdolls, and Maine Coons. Rod U Ren (CFA USA) Rod lives in Melbourne, Australia. He started breeding pedigreed cats in 1968, but finally realized it didn t fit into an increasingly busy life in He bred mostly Persians [under the Firnbank, Sublime and Preview prefixes], but has also bred Exotics, Scottish Folds and Singapuras. He started judging in 1978 and has judged widely in South Africa, USA, New Zealand and most of Asia. He began guest judging CFA shows in Asia in 2006 and has since judged 70 CFA shows. At the start of 2018, he applied to become a CFA judge. He currently has Approval Pending AB status; being the only CFA judge living in Australia. This has changed his direction in the cat world and he is looking forward to this new stage of his career, though he is still always happy to judge amongst old friends in Australia. Cheryle U Ren (FCCV) I have been a member of the Feline Control Council of Victoria since its inception in I was first licensed to judge in 1965 and qualified as an All Breeds judge in Over the past 54 years I have gained broad experience with judging invitations throughout Australia and New Zealand plus USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Europe, South Africa, Indonesia, Japan, United Kingdom and vast areas of China. Thus, gaining valuable knowledge into international variations of standards. I am an FCCV and CCCofA National Tutor and Examining All Breeds judge plus being involved in lecturing and conducting of Judges Seminars for both organizations. Over the years I have shown my preference for breeding and showing top quality Persians in Solid, Himalayan and Marked colours.. I breed under the Sublime, Preview, Firnbank and Lavendel prefixes. Together with my family we have achieved multiple Best in Show, Supremes and Cat of the Year winners. I am a foundation and life member of both the Feline Control Council Victoria and the Pedigree Persian Cat Club of Victoria. I am currently Registrar and serving on the executive of the FCCV plus holding positions on many sub-committees relating to judging, breeding, showing and standards matters. I have also been a regular FCCV delegate at the national Cat co-ordinating Council of Australia s conference since the FCCV became a member, and am privileged to be currently serving as President of this National organization. I believe strongly in the principle of such a group and am proud of the unity that exists within from all the Member Bodies, which represents a very high percentage of the cat fancy in Australia. I am dedicated to ensuring that the FCCV and CCCA remain the influential and professional organizations in the Australasian cat fancy that they are today and on the international scene as well with CCCA being a member body of the World Cat Congress. pg. 6

7 Carolynn Davis (CQI) Having been introduced to the cat fancy from birth, I guess it was inevitable that I would find myself part of the greater cat world later in life. I can remember the days of the closed shows, where everyone was locked out during judging and only allowed back in when the Judges had finished in the afternoon, to find out whether your prized puss had done you proud. I do enjoy the open shows as well though, where the Judges comment on the exhibits as they go makes for an exciting day. Currently, I breed the gorgeous Burmese and Mandalay under the Jovelles prefix along with Chris and Terry Merritt. I also play an active role in the Carinya British breeding program. My greatest breeding success was winning Group 3 Kitten of Year with CCCA Ch. BDGC Nevaska Dream Start Devon Rex as well as several Best of Breed Exhibits of Year with the Devon Rex. I am a current member of the Exotic Cat Club of Qld Inc. and the Curly Coats Cat Club of Qld Inc. I have held the position of Secretary of CQI, as well as a member of the Tutor Judges Panel. While my 3 Desexed girls are now too old to be on the show bench, I take absolute joy in showing our Jovelles and Carinya children to their very best potential. Karen Moore (FASA) Karen has been breeding and showing cats for the past 33 years under the prefix 'Euphoria'. Commencing with Burmese, which is still her main breed today, Karen has also had extensive experience in breeding Siamese, Orientals, Foreign White and Devon Rex cats, winning 8 NSW Cat of the Year Awards with these breeds. Karen has, over the years, imported both Burmese and Devon Rex from the UK to supplement Australian bloodlines. Karen is an international All Shorthair Judge and is a qualified Tutor Judge in all Shorthair Breeds. She is a life member of the Oriental Cat Club of NSW and a founding member and past President of the Rex Cat Club of NSW. Karen also breeds and races thoroughbred horses and is keenly interested in the racing bloodstock industry. Karen holds a degree in Psychology from the University of NSW and, until recently, worked as an Events Manager for a NSW State Government organisation. Karen moved to South Australia in February 2017, buying a house on the beautiful southern coastline of Adelaide and joining The Feline Association of South Australia.
