3 For Volunteers, Stewards, Judges, Exhibitors, Staff & Contractors Our 2016 Royal Hobart Show, online safety induction is now available to complete for the event. The safety induction portal is compatible with tablets and ipads, Macintosh Computers and Personal Computers. Can you please forward this information onto any of your staff, volunteers, workers and stakeholders attending the venue for the event to allow them time to complete this important safety process. Although we are some months away from the event commencement. We view this process an important part of your WH&S site specific training for entering the site and fulfils the obligations required by all PCBU's under the current Work Health and Safety Act Use the following link to access the training portal. At the successful completion of the assessment, details will be sent to the RAST Administrator and an induction card will be sent to each inductee s nominated address. Your induction card must then be printed out, signed and carried with you at all times whilst onsite for the event. We encourage your staff and stakeholders to complete this process early to ensure that they have no issue with accessing the venue during the move in or out phases of the event. Hi visibility vests must also be worn during the move in and out phases of the event and an current induction card must be available upon request or access to the venue may be denied until the issue is rectified. 5 DELIVERY OF EXHIBITS: Exhibits to be delivered via Main Gate, Howard Road entrance between the hours of 6.30am am Any vehicle remaining on the Showground after 8.00am will be towed away at the expense of the exhibitor. Cat Stewards will be on hand to accept exhibits and to ensure the cars are re-directed from the Showground. Parking is available in the Public Car Park opposite the Showground. Parking will not be permitted on the Showground. One gate pass per exhibitor will be issued. Multiple entries in joint names will receive two gate passes. COLLECTION OF EXHIBITS: Exhibitors will be permitted vehicle access to the Showground and Cat Pavilion from 4.30pm. SHOW DETAILS: This show will be run on the "OPEN" format - thus enabling interested exhibitors to observe the judging. Pavilion will be open to the general public from 9.00am 10.00am whilst judging in progress. Exhibits must not be removed before the advertised closing time. Sashes &/or trophies will be awarded for Best and Reserve in show. Top placing s will operate as per usual format. Donations to the trophy fund are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged in the show catalogue. SHOW CLASSES please use class numbers as per Schedule Kitten Classes: Exhibits l0 weeks and under 9 months on day of Show, includes de sexed kittens. Cat Classes: Entire Exhibits 9 months and over on day of show N.B: GRAND CHAMPION AND GRAND PREMIER NEUTERS ARE INELIGIBLE FOR OPEN CLASSES Neuter Classes: Exhibits which have been desexed, Note: Desexed kittens are now shown in kitten classes. CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES Female/Male Grand Champion Female/Male Grand Premier Neuter GROUP EVENTS: Litter of Kittens - all living kittens from a single kittening. CCCT AWARDS: This class is open to all cats registered with CCCA or ACF bodies only. Exhibits will automatically be entered in this class. No entry fee is necessary. ULTIMATE AWARD OF MERIT: This free class is open to all CCCT registered Grand Champions and Grand Premier Neuters. Classes will be for Male and Female, Entire and Desexed, in Groups 1, 2 and 3. Financial members of the CCCT may apply for this certificate when they have won ten (10) awards. COMPANION EXHIBITS Domestic Pet Classes - All domestic exhibits must be desexed. Domestic Pet Female Kitten - over 3 months and under 9 months on day of Show. Domestic Pet Male Kitten - over 3 months and under 9 months on day of Show. Female Neuter Male Neuter Unregistered Pure Bred cats are acceptable in this show in the section for Companion Cats. Registered Breeders or immediate family are not eligible to enter exhibits this section.

6 GENERAL CONDITIONS: Registration: The Society may only accept entries for cats which are registered with a recognised control body. Domestic Exhibits and Companion Cats are exempt from registration. Entry Fees: All Entry Fees must be paid at the time of entry. Veterinary examination: A qualified Veterinary Surgeon shall examine each exhibit. They shall refuse to allow any cat to enter the exhibition if, in their opinion, it is suffering from any contagious or infectious disease or has external parasites, or which has been treated or prepared for exhibition in contravention of the rules and regulations under which the Royal Hobart Show runs this event. The vet s decision in this regard shall be final. Should the Veterinary Surgeon reject an exhibit for reasons of contagious or infectious disease or evidence of external parasites, all that exhibitor s entries may be rejected at the discretion of the Veterinary Surgeon. No person may present an exhibit which has been exposed to the risk of any infectious or contagious disease during the period dating at least 12 days prior to the exhibition. It is expected that all exhibits should have appropriate immunisations prior to the show. Benching: Curtains (coloured/white) are allowed during judging and, if required, a hot water bottle completely enclosed. Litter trays to be preferably plastic and rectangular in shape. No foodstuffs are allowed in cages before completion of judging. Cages must be kept clean by exhibitors. One small toy per cage is permissible. Withdrawal of entries: When a person withdraws a cat entered in the Royal Hobart Show, they shall be required at the time of withdrawal to furnish a written explanation to the Show Secretary, or Show Manager. Where written explanation is not produced, or the RAST considers the explanation to be unsatisfactory it may request a Veterinary Certificate of clearance within 7 days, naming the withdrawn exhibits. Where a certificate is requested and not produced within 7 days, the person(s) concerned shall be considered as being in enforced quarantine by the controlling body under whose rules and regulations the show is held until such time as the certificate is produced. Judging: At the time of judging no person shall be allowed in the judging area save the judges and the properly appointed officials and stewards. A judge's decision on the merit of the exhibit shall be final unless such decision is contrary to the rules and regulations under which the RAST show is held. Judges are empowered and instructed not to award any prize, challenge or award certificate to any exhibit which they consider is not of sufficient an award. Any exhibit which cannot be taken from its cage by the judge or steward will not be judged. Owner's risk: The care and safety of all exhibits, or any other property entrusted to it, is of the upmost importance to the RAST. However it must be understood that the RAST will not be responsible for the loss, detention of or damage to any exhibit or property, whether arising from accident, or other cause whatsoever, or from any act or omission of itself, its officers, agents servants or others. Junior Exhibitor of the Year: All exhibitors under 18 years of age are automatically eligible. Points awarded are 5 for attending the show plus 1 for each exhibit entered. Exhibits claws: All Exhibits must have clipped claws, clean ears and coats free from pests. Strict attention must be paid to this rule. Claws are not to be clipped within the show hall. I accept and assume all such risks of personal injury or death in anyway whatsoever arising from these activities and hereby waive my individual right to sue the Suppliers for all claims I or my representatives may have for such personal injury or death against the Suppliers in any way whatsoever arising from or in connection with these activities. 4 At the time of participating in the event, I have not been to any degree under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs. 5 I will not consume any alcohol or illicit drugs while participating in the Event and agree that such use may result in my being excluded from the Event or other events with no entitlement to any refund of money paid for entry to the Suppliers. 6 I agree to be bound by the rules and guidelines of the Agricultural Show Council of Tasmania Inc as varied from time to time.
