3 ROUTES TO THE SHOW SOUTHBOUND: Take I-205 from north of Vancouver to Exit #9, OREGON CITY. Follow signs to 99E, which goes through Oregon City to Canby (it s about 8 miles from Oregon City to Canby.) You can see the Fairgrounds to the right as you approach Canby. Look for FAIRGROUNDS road signs. OR continue southbound on I-5 through the Portland Metropolitan area and take exit #282, Canby-Hubbard. Follow the directions to Canby and go to the north end of town. Look for the FAIRGROUNDS signs to the show site, which is on the west side of 99E. NORTHBOUND: Take the DONALD-AURORA exit from I-5 turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp, proceed to Aurora (about 1 mile). Turn left onto 99E go north through Barlow to Canby (about 4 miles). Go to the north end of town and follow FAIRGROUNDS signs to the show (to your left from 99E). DIRECTIONS TO EMERGENCY VETERINARY CLINIC OF TUALATIN: Take 5 North to Nyberg Rd., Exit #289. The Columbia River Rottweiler Club will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD BY CASH BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. CONDITIONAL, UNSIGNED, INCOMPLETE or entries received without fees will not be accepted. ENTRY FEES SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any or other acts beyond the control of the Club or Show Secretary it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE for errors on entry blanks and for entering the same dog twice. No refunds for duplicate entries and no entry fee will be refunded in event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. ONLY DOGS THAT ARE ELIGIBLE to be shown under The American Kennel Club rules shall be allowed within the Show Precincts. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercise ring. CASH PRIZES WILL BE PAID IN THE RING TO THE PERSON SHOWING THE DOG claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Show Secretary s Office advised at once. The Show Secretary and show-giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. 4 NOTE: A recording fee of $.50 and $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience, Trial or Tracking Test. This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, (Section 2). ATTENTION EXHIBITORS 1. There will be no refund for duplicate entries. 2. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs allowed in rings during judging only. 3. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. 4. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed. 5. All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not be replaced. The Show Secretary is not able to cash checks. 6. RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Returned checks will result in the exhibitor being put on a CASH ONLY basis. 7. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. 8. No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Show Secretary. 9. The show giving Club, the Show Secretary, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. 10. Entries will not be accepted without fees, signatures or the Agreement on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or by telegram prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable. Refunds of $3.00 & less will not be issued due to the costs of processing. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches - 7 years & under 10 years - 10 years and over. THERE IS NO PROVISION FOR UNENTERED DOGS AT THESE EVENTS. 2. Management is not responsible for the loss of, damage to, or death of any dog exhibited, or for the possessions of any participant, whether the result of accident or any other cause. It is expressly understood that every dog at these events is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 3. The welfare of an exhibitor's child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly understood that exhibitors, guardians and parents will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the events and are responsible for the actions of their children. 4. The selling of puppies and/or dogs (of any breed) anywhere in the vicinity of, or anytime during the Specialty is PROHIBITED. This would include the posting of signs offering animals for sale in the areas adjacent to the event limits and/or the parking lot from Wednesday night through the end of the event on Monday. 5. All rights to TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit these events are vested in the club or in persons to who assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the club. All persons and animals on the show grounds at anytime while the events are in progress, do by attending these events or participating therein, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. 6. The club is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at these events. 7. Do not leave dogs in closed vehicles. The club reserves the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending these dog events hereby waive any claim for any damages that result from such action. 8. Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. The club expects our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at these events has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. The club reserves the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. 9. WEATHER - we hope to see sunny skies ranging in temperatures from 65 to 85 degrees in Canby Oregon. However, you may experience overcast skies, wind, drizzle or even heavy rain. PLEASE BE PREPARED! NOTE: Dogs which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a championship after closing of entries for the Show, but which championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any regular conformation judging at the show. Get need not be under the same ownership as that of the stud dog. Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes. Awards will be entirely on the merits of the get. Brood Bitch Class: Same as above, except for the following two changes: Substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and substitute Produce for Get. Brace Class: This shall be for two dogs with identical ownership. Dogs comprising a Brace MUST be entered in a regular class. Each entry form for a dog entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes. AWARDS OF MERIT Depending on the entry, the club will offer large rosettes to be awarded after the judge has awarded Best of Breed. Up to four (4) Awards of Merit may be given at the judge s discretion. TROPHIES & ROSETTES The Columbia River Rottweiler Club offers all trophies and rosettes to be offered at these Specialty and Sweepstakes, unless otherwise indicated. Perpetual Trophies shall remain in the permanent possession of Columbia River Rottweiler Club. The name of the respective winner will be inscribed on the statue base. Columbia River Rottweiler Club will be offering Super-Sized rosettes for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed and Best Puppy at both Specialty Shows. These rosettes are nearly 5 feet in length and 14.5 across at the Rosette including multiple rows of points, petals and pleating. -6- JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION FRIDAY AM SPECIALTY ONLY NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 12 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS For boys and Girls at least 12 and under 15 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. NOVICE SENIOR CLASS For Boys and Girls at least 15 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
