No dog shall be exhibited in a licensed or member dog show, except for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class unless it is either individually registered in the AKC Stud Book, or individually registered with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration. Puppy classes stop at 9-12 MOS. Sweepstakes entry must also be entered in a Regular Class. CLASSIFICATION Regular Classes The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Puppy, 6 Months & Under 9 Months Bred by Exhibitor Puppy, 9 Months & Under 12 Months American Bred Junior, 12 Months & Under 18 Months Open Best of Breed NOTE: Novice & Amateur/Owner Handler Classes will not be offered PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES RULES The Sweepstakes is open to all Pekingese over 6 months of age and under 18 months of age who ALSO ARE ENTERED IN A REGULAR CLASS. Champions of Record are not eligible. Entry is to be made at the same time and on the same form as entries for the regular classes. "Sweepstakes" and class should be stated in the space provided for Additional Classes. The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Sweepstakes, Puppy, 6 Months of Age and Under 9 Months Sweepstakes, Puppy, 9 Months of age and Under 12 Months Sweepstakes, Junior, 12 Months of Age and Under 18 Months Sweepstakes will be judged prior to regular classes and Sweepstakes entry fee is $17.00 per entry added to the regular class fee. Thirty-five (35%) percent of the Sweepstakes entry fees will be retained by the Club. 5 The participating Club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof. Transfer of Entry to Best of Breed Dogs which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any regular conformation judging at the show. CATALOGS All catalogs will be sold. None will be given away. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON US ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN US FUNDS. GROOMING AND CRATING The Show Committee anticipates limited indoor crating & grooming room. The Club requires that crates be stacked & reserves the right to allocate grooming space for the convenience of all. All space is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Exhibitors and Handlers will be held responsible for the clean conditions in and around their grooming area. No dogs will be allowed in the restrooms. EXERCISING DOGS The Club wishes to maintain a good reputation with the building management. There will be designated exercise areas outside the buildings and all exhibitors are expected to comply with the exercise area signs. NO BABY STROLLERS WILL BE ALLOWED RINGSIDE. If dogs are left in unattended closed vehicles, the owner will be paged. If there is no immediate response to this page, vehicle windows may be broken! All persons attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against Pekingese Club of Texas or its members in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. All rights to TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show-grounds at any time while the Show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, video tape, audiotape, or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Visa/Master Card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder's name must be included. Fax entries must be received by the closing hour and date. Fax fee: $4.00 per entry in addition to entry fee. On-Line Entries can be taken at On-Line Fee: $4.00 per entry in addition to entry fee. Telephone, telegraph and unsigned entries CANNOT be accepted. Entry fee shall not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, or barred. Canadian exhibitors must make fees payable in US funds. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and photocopies of the entry without the Agreement and Rules from the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. Errors on Entry Blanks: Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Show-giving Club, Show Secretary, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or any of their dogs, or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children under the control of parents or guardians. A recording fee of 50 cents and an event fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at any licensed or Member Club, Show, Obedience Trial, or Tracking Test. This fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the fee is collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 14, Section 2) All dogs must be held on leash except when in the exercise area or crated.
