For permanent possession, the trophy must be won three times by the exact same owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. The trophy is a wooden plaque adorned with a picture of GCHG Cedric The Entertainer HOF. The trophy will be engraved above the picture with the following: Best of Breed-GCHG Cedric The Entertainer HOF Memorial Challenge Trophy-SCSC. After each Specialty, it will be adorned with a plate on which the year, BOB dog s name and owner s name(s) are to be engraved. A token trophy will be offered by SCSC. BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST OF BREED - Members of SCSC offer a challenge trophy. For permanent possession, the trophy must be won three times by the exact same owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. The trophy is a Silver-Plated Candelabra. It will be adorned with a brass plate on which the year, dog s name and owner s name are to be engraved. It is to remain in the possession of the Club until it is retired. A Candle Holder will be offered by SCSC as a token trophy. BEST IN PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES, BEST OF BREED, HIGH IN TRIAL - Daniel J. Meininger, Arleen T. Meininger & Barbara Guerini offer the Ch. Coal Creek s Artful Dodger CD, CGC Challenge Trophy. For permanent possession, the same dog or bitch must win Best in Puppy Sweepstakes, Best of Breed and High in Trial (all 3) at the Schipperke Club of Southern California s annual show, not necessarily with the same owner. The trophy is an ornate champagne cooler mounted on a mahogany wood base adorned with a silver plate engraved with the following: Ch. Coal Creek s Artful Dodger CD, CGC s Challenge Trophy, In memory of Ch. Coal Creek s Keeley, Best Puppy in Sweepstakes, Best of Breed, High in Trial. It is to remain in the possession of the Club until it is retired. AWARD OF MERIT A Judge may, at his/her discretion, present an Award of Merit to those quality dogs he/she feels are worthy of final consideration in Best of Breed. Award of Merit winners will receive a three-streamer rosette in Belgian colors of black, yellow & red. The number of these awards is determined by the number of dogs actually competing in the ring (excluding Select Dog and Select Bitch): 3-7 = = = = or more = 5 TROPHIES Trophies will be offered for the following placements and will consist of Schipperke themed items and useful dog show and dog related items. 8 SWEEPSTAKES PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES This Sweepstakes is open to all Schipperkes at least 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Dogs who have completed their Championship are eligible to compete. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Puppy Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Puppy Sweepstakes. All entries in Puppy Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class in this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate Puppy Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. The Following Age Division Classes Are Offered for Both Dogs and Bitches: 6 months & under 9 months 9 months & under 12 months 12 months & under 18 months VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES This Sweepstakes is open to all Schipperkes 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may be entered in this class. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entries in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in any other class at this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular classes. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. Best Vet In Sweeps Best Opposite Vet In Sweeps JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP NEW RULES EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 8, 2011 AKC Junior Handler Numbers are assigned by AKC and required for entry in AKC events. Junior Handler Number may be obtained by calling the American Kennel Club (919) Regular Classes NOVICE CLASS: This shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present. The winner of a Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the Open Class at the same show provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further providing there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the Open Class. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed.
