4 SWEEPSTAKES Judge: Mr. Elvys Maldonado Sweepstakes is open to all Collies, Rough and Smooth, 6months of age and over, but under 18 months of age the day of the show, which are also entered in the regular class competition. All challenge trophies are offered at the CCNNNJ, Inc. s independent Specialty Show only. Only purebred collies with AKC registrations are eligible to win challenge trophies. For permanent possession, challenge trophies must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog, unless otherwise noted. All challenge trophies will remain in the possession of CCNNJ until won outright. Trophy bases will remain the possession of CCNNJ. CCNNJ reserves the right to substitute an item for a listed trophy that is unavailable from the manufacturer as specified in the Rules Applying To Dog Shows. 6 OBEDIENCE Judge: Mrs. Linda Ferrullo CLASSIFICATION Regular Classes Novice Class A Open Class A Utility Class A Novice Class B Open Class B Utility Class B Non-Regular Class Veterans Beginner Novice A Graduate Novice Optional-Titling Classes Beginner Novice B Graduate Open Only regular classes count towards High In Trial and High Combined The Graduate Novice class is for dogs that have not been certified by a judge to have received a third qualifying score toward a CDX title prior to the closing of entries. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may handle more than one dog in this class, but each dog must have a separate handler for the Long Down exercise when judged in the same group. Dogs entered in Graduate Novice may also be entered in one of the Novice or Open classes The Veterans' class will be for dogs that have an obedience title and are at least seven years old on the date of the trial. The exercises will be performed and judged as in the Novice class. Dogs may be entered in another class or classes. Ribbons and Prizes: A qualifying score will not be required to earn ribbons and prizes in any non-regular Class. GENERAL CONDITIONS Dog means either sex. Entry fee will be refunded for bitches in season upon presentation of a certificate from a veterinarian. OBEDIENCE TRIAL PRIZES: All trophies are hand-fashioned pewter in a bright finish by the Woodbury Pewterer s, Woodbury, Connecticut. All challenge trophies are offered at the CCNNNJ, Inc. s specialty show only. NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. NOVICE SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show OPEN JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show. Each dog handled in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be entered and shown in one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the show, or must be entered for Junior Showmanship only. Each dog must be owned by the junior Handler or by the Junior Handler s father, mother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather or grandmother; including the corresponding step and half relations, or by a member of the Junior Handler s household. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Shows or in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a Breed Judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the Veterinarian for the protection of the other dogs at the show or for the protections of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. Winner of a third First Place in each Novice Class shall automatically become eligible to enter in the corresponding Open Class at this show, provided that there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in that Open Class. Winning of First Place in an Open Junior Showmanship Class at the show may qualify or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes. 10 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS Entry Fees: $ for the first entry of each dog including $3.00 A.K.C event service fee and.50 recording fee. $20.00 for each additional entry of the same dog. Sweepstakes fee is $ Beginner 4-6 Puppy & Veterans fee $ $5.00 for Junior Showmanship only. No fee for Junior Showmanship as an additional entry. CLOSING DATE for entries 5:00 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2014(at the Show Secretary s Office) after which entries cannot be accepted, cancelled or substituted except as provided for in Chapter 14, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules. THE SHOW AND OBEDIENCE TRIAL will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. A RECORDING FEE OF $.50 plus an event service fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. This recording fee is to be collected by the Showgiving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 14, Section 2). RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. TELEGRAPH, TELEPHONE and UNSIGNED ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED. ENTRIES NOT ON OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORMS AND PHOTOCOPIES OF ENTRY FORMS without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. The person accompanying a dog must show tickets of admission and identification before the dog will be received. SHOULD SUCH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOT BE RECEIVED BY THE EXHIBITOR within a reasonable time, please notify Mrs. Leigh A. Cohen. MAKE ALL CHECKS AND MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO the Collie Club of Northern New Jersey, Inc. Please mail checks or money orders with entries. The Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS. NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE. ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian, or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS: Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog has been processed, no refund will be made. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-giving club has no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. DUE TO THE NUMBER OF CRATES AND GROOMING TABLES, chairs will not be allowed in the grooming area. NO CHALKING WILL BE PERMITTED INSIDE THE BUILDING. EXHIBITORS MUST BE GOVERNED by any rules or regulations of civil authorities, building and parking restrictions. Vehicles parked contrary to regulations will be subject to towing at owner s expense.
