That means that our season for gathering together as a chapter is finished for the season once again. It has been a very good camping season in my opinion anyway. We have traveled to some new locations and enjoyed seeing and experiencing many new and exciting things and places. We have enjoyed meeting and camping with several new and interesting people and our chapter has grown. On the sad side, we have had a few long time members decide for many reasons not to join around our campfire this season. It is of course our hope that they will be able to return during the coming season that starts in only 4 months. We have joined together in prayer for our members who struggle with illness and who struggle daily to find the strength and combination of skilled doctors and medical science to be able to return on day strong and well. We have struggled with the reality of the death of a beloved member and will continue to deal with that as the weeks go by. As this is the final note from the President this season, I want to say that I am very happy to be able to serve and equally pleased that so many of you have stepped forward when we were in need of your help. Together we are very strong and together we make all of the work of the chapter easy. Our rallies have been filled with joy and laughter, games and more games and we found time to prepare and consume mass quantities of delicious food prepared my our various hosts and hostesses. So I close by simply saying wherever you may travel and whatever you may be doing this summer remember to keep each other in your daily prayers and thoughts and be safe until we gather around the table once again. Blessings to you all, Rick Neblock Ocala Central Sams May 10, 2017 Horseshoe Cove, Bradenton Attendance: Errett, Comini, Sayers, Shartzer Neblock, Mentzel/Minor, Fowler, Vroman, Chynoweth, Ritcey, Whitney, Empey and Allan. Rick Neblock called the meeting to order at 9:10 am. Dick led in prayer. Rick led the Pledge of Allegiance and Good Sams Pledge. Sandy asked if there were any additions or corrections that needed to be made to the minutes published in the newsletter. Having none, Allan motioned to accept as printed and EJ seconded, Karen explained there were no major changes and asked if anyone had any questions. Having none, Rob motioned to accept the financial report as sent by and Chuck V seconded. Chuck, wagon master, is still looking for hosts for September and May next season. Please think about it and let him know this weekend if possible. Sunshine: A card will be passed around, be sure and sign for Ken Young s son. Gary needs prayer for a procedure coming up. Jane is going 5X s weekly for treatments hoping to get where she needs to be for her procedure. Ernie and Sherry have had a lot going on in their life, continue praying for them. Rob and 1

2 Mary Jo s son is doing better but needs our prayers as well as Rick and Sue s daughter. Historian: Rick stated that Ocala Central Sams was recognized in Okeechobee for our 48 year anniversary. There have been 4 clubs formed out of our club, one is Golden Triangles. Old Business: T-shirts, Sue and JoAnn are taking orders for the blue T-shirts. Anyone needing them, please contact soon. They will be ordered this summer to receive in September. New Business: Good Sams is 50 years old and is asking all members celebrating 50 years to let them know. Empey and Fowler both will be celebrating 50 years in 2018, Neblock will be celebrating 48 years and Bert and Sherry are celebrating 60 years the 22 of June. Dick mentioned it would be good to have a beanbag baseball game made in Ken Young s memory for a singles RV club he attended. Ken would borrow Ocala s for them to use. Bert motioned for the club to pay $50 for Rick to make a beanbag baseball game in Ken s memory for the club, Colleen seconded and all agreed. Colleen announced she had designed a badge holder for Good Sam rallies that holds your name badge, card, bar and phone. She is selling them to club members for a special price of $6 and she would love to take your order. Sandy and Karen have been asked to find replacements for their positions, secretary and treasurer. If you would be interested please let them know. Rick and Chuck are willing to maintain their positions. Everyone applauded them for their service to the club. Today s Plans: We will be leaving at 10:30 for Florida Guide Dogs and then Mixon s Fruits almost across the street, for juice, wine tasting, orange ice cream and snack bar for lunch. Then we will be meeting at 5 pm to go to The Riverside Café for dinner. 50/50: Karen won the $25, congratulations. Karen mentioned we had quite a lot of money in the treasury, would the club like to make some donations before next season? Two checks will be made for $100 each for Pennies for Pouches and Florida Guide Dogs since we are going there today. Sue made a motion to give $100 each to Interfaith, Boggy Creek and Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, Rob seconded and all were in favor. Rick has asked Vets Helping Vets to come and tell us about their organization next season. Gary would like to thank the club for the donation of the baseball game in Ken s memory. We had quite a busy and fun filled itinerary. Monday at 4 pm we gathered outside for eats and drinks with lots of chitty chat. We all went our separate ways for dinner and then met in the rally room for LCR. And more laughs. Tuesday morning our hosts Neblock, Mentzel and Minor made some delicious breakfast casseroles, fresh fruit, orange juice and toast with coffee of course. We then played bean baseball. We girls won 9 to 7. Yeah!! 2

3 SURPRISE!! We surprised Pat and John with a bridal shower before dinner. They were taken off their feet. MAY 20TH CONGRATULATIONS!! 3

4 Who is this good looking cowboy? with daily activities. Yet another had trained her dog to visit nursing homes. Still another dog had been trained to calm a vet with PTSD. His wife presented the dog and told how much he had meant to the family and how the dog calmed her husband. Rick presented them with the two $100 checks. We then went a short distance across the street to Mixon Fruits for free juice, wine tasting and yummy orange ice cream. After exploring the gifts and tasting wine, juice and candy we headed back for lunch. We met at 5 pm to head for dinner at the Riverside Café. We gathered again for meatloaf (which was delicious) kudos to the cooks and all the trimmings brought by all. Wow, what a delicious meal! Then we had some yummy shower cake. After clearing and taking left overs home we gathered for more LCR. Florida Guide Dogs visit. On Wednesday we had breakfast of French toast, fruit and sausage. I think we all gained 2 pounds. Rick then called for the meeting to begin ASAP so we would have plenty of time to prepare for our tour of Florida Guide Dogs. We were expected at 10:30. What a treat, we were warmly greeted by the owner and after a short commentary we watched a DVD. We then met some of the dogs and owners that had benefitted from our donations and the school. One was a police officer, who had lost his leg and agility, his first dog was retired and he was in training with a new rescue. Another lady was deaf and had a small rescue helping her cope 4
