Important Dates November 2018 *Nov. 1st Memorial Sara Hill & Staff from Hospice of Michigan We will be honoring all of our residents who are no longer with us by hosting a carefully designed program of worship and celebration. *Nov. 7th Trip to Heritage Farms We will be taking the bus to Heritage Farms in Fremont! Please be sure that your loved one has money to take on the outing. If you would like to join us, please contact Jaymie! *Nov. 30th Resident Birthday Party *Dec. 7th Christmas Gala We begin the holiday season with our annual Christmas Gala for our residents, their families, and staff! 2 Connie s Corner Somehow or other we have moved through another 10 months of a year. Time waits for no one. We have many exciting things happening in and around the facility. Our new building is in the completion stages. On the interior, the drywall is up, painting is starting, trim is here, and soon the floors will be done. The exterior is complete except for landscaping! I'm already looking forward to next season when we can put our new walkways and gazebo to use. We will keep you updated as we move closer to an opening date. October ushers in cooler weather. Please make sure you've stopped by to visit with your loved one and ensure they have their fall and winter clothing available including outerwear, as well as laundry soap and toiletries. Soon enough, we will be gathering together for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As we contemplate this Thanksgiving season, I realize our sole purpose in coming to work is the people we work with, whether it's the simply amazing team, coming together from all walks of life, who have bonded over the past years or the wonderful residents who brighten each of our lives with their smiles, their gladness, and their joy in living. We give thanks to our great God above, who blesses the works of our hands and gives us the strength and courage to serve those around us. On December7th, we will again host our Annual Christmas Gala, an event looked forward to by all residents and staff! As always, we can only send four tickets per resident. This year's tickets should be on their way to you. RSVP deadline is November 30th. I look forward to seeing all of you there.

4 Autumn Fun... Between sports, puzzle days, autumn crafts, volunteers bringing in bean bags & doing nails, trips to The Shack for banana splits, and a luncheon with our friends from Green Acres of Cedar Springs we have had a fantastic couple of months! We look forward to seeing what November brings us.

5 Resident Updates We welcome Bob to our facility! Let s give Betty a warm welcome... Bob was born and raised in Iowa, moving to Fremont where he later raised his family and worked. Bob worked for Gerber as the Director of Marketing and Sales. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and pickles with salami. Let s make him feel welcome by saying hello and getting acquainted. Betty is a Fremont local, and has lived here her entire life. We are so excited she is here with us at Green Acres! Betty really enjoys sewing, knitting, and any other craft related activities. She also enjoys sweet snacks of all types! Stop in and say hello! Staff Updates We say see you soon to Nurse Kim Kim and her husband will be leaving the state of Michigan and heading to Florida this winter. They plan to take one day at a time having no set plans, and enjoy the spontaneity of life. We hope that they soak up all of the sunshine they possibly can! All of the staff and residents at Green Acres will miss you and wish you nothing but the best.

6 We welcome Miranda, LPN, to the Fremont Management team... Say hello to Misty, our Dietary Manager... Miranda is an LPN from Grant, Michigan. She is so excited to be with us in Fremont, and she hopes to move here with her daughter in the future. She is looking forward to expanding her knowledge about this side of nursing, and getting to know our wonderful residents! Give her a warm welcome! Misty is a Fremont local, and we welcome her to the Green Acres team! She loves to cook, and has spent most of her life doing so. She is looking forward to getting to know our residents, and making sure that their dietary needs are met. Let s make her feel welcome!
