2 Principal s Report Movie Auction Night Please come along and support the Movie Auction Night tomorrow night, Saturday 14th June at 6pm. There are many great items for the Silent Auction and a new release movie to watch. The Parents For Fundraising Committee have been very active in preparing for this event. Prep 2015 Information Night We will have a Prep 2015 information night and school tour on Wednesday the 18th of June at 7pm. The information night will be held in the current Prep/1 rooms. If you know of any new families please encourage them to come along to this evening. Reports The teaching staff have been busy analysing data and writing reports in preparation for distribution at the end of term. This takes much out of school hours time in fact the bulk of the writing is done out of hours. Thank you very much to all the staff who have met all of the deadlines. We are now up to buddy reading, correcting mistakes and then printing. The whole process takes about 8 weeks from beginning to end. Judy Ingamells 2

3 "The World Around Us" This has been our theme for the past two weeks at OSHC and boy did we all have some fun! Our biggest activity which ran for two nights was Taste Testing. We displayed fruits from around the world, which children had a go at naming and guessing where they came from. The following night the children, after much anticipation, got to find out what they were, where they came from and then how they tasted. We tried Pomegranate from Iran, Mango from Mexico, Lychee drink from China, Fortune cookies from China/ USA and then Italian herb bread traditionally from Italy. 3

4 The Witch s Brew Into the pot there now must go, A dog s foot from the magic show. An old cow s head with some blood, And a furry horse s tail dipped in mud., Drop the sloppy mud in the pot, With the mushy pumpkin that is hot. In goes the old cuckoo clock, tick tock, The silver key goes into the lock., The lazy Pop reading a book, A gold fish, hanging off a hook. Remember the young lady s shoe, With a funky cow or two., Everyone hears a squeak from a mouse, Followed by a haunted house. In goes the pots and pans with a ting, A golden crown from the king., Some denim jeans that were clean, Mixed with a spicy, roasted bean. Suddenly there was a stormy cloud, And a barking, hunting hound., By: Sharni and Allanah THE WITCH S SPELL! Into my pot there now must go Half a fly and a red bird s crow. Young girl s jeans with rotten beans, A ragged shirt and dirty teens. One live bee and a dead fly s wing, The skin of a pea and the crown of a king. A bottled peach and salty pie And for good taste a bit of a tie. The eye of a tiger and heart of a sheep Wails and cries from the haunted deep. Last of all a bronze key for a lock, Or a pot full of ten frozen frogs. By Ainsley and Briana The Witch s Brew Into my pot there now must go One cat and dog and a sliver of snow. One dead human and one head of a mouse And an eye of a dog and heart of a girl. A stolen shiny dimed and mouldy Rat and for good flavour a jar of eyes Wing of a bird and a head of a human Screams and howls from a haunted house By Caitlin and Lucus 4

Wing of an eagle, wing of a crow, Don t forget the pinch of snow. Hubble bubble on the wall Stir, stir, stir them all. Jada and Alex The Witch s Brew Into my pot there must go, A dead bird and a pretty bow. And ragged clothes with a maggotty body, Rotten snot and a gloop of slimy toddy. Hubble Bubble at the double, Cooking pot stir up trouble. One dead fly and a wing of a bird, The foot of a girl and the heart of a nerd. One terrifying egg of a crow, And a brown baby rooster s foe. 6 The PFF Auction/Movie night is on THIS SATURDAY the 14th of June at 6 pm. We were again fortunate this year to receive some great donations from stall holders at Farm World and from Warragul and Drouin businesses. Food orders for the night are now closed, however if you would still like to attend, please call Denise Palmer on We can confirm that The Lego Movie will be screened on the night. Bring along your beanbags, cushions and blankets to make yourself comfortable. The items on offer will be sold via a silent auction and we will also be having some raffles of special items. Items purchased can be paid for on the night using cash or cheque. Alternatively, arrangements can be made to pay via eftpos on Monday at the office. This is always a fun night with lots of bargains to be had and all funds raised from the evening will benefit our school. 6
