1 Hello Heart Walk Participants! Below is everything you need to know about the Heart Walk on November 3 rd. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, November 3rd at the 2018 Greater Washington Heart Walk on the National Mall. In this , you ll find everything you need to know about where to go and what to do. Location: The tent and festivities are located on the National Mall between 4 th and 7 th streets. All tents will be located between Madison Drive and Jefferson Drive. Schedule of Events: 8:30 am Tents and Festivities begin 9:30 am Stage Program and Warm-up Emcees: Howard Bernstein United States Army Color Guard and National Anthem introduced by CACI Healthy for Good Awards presented by Siemens Government Technologies Live DJ Warm up provided by RhyDem Fitness 10:00 am Walk Steps off (1 or 3 mile route) Stage festivities and tents remain open until 11:30am Bling it on Fitness (Zumba) (10:45am) Dog costume contest (11:15am) Event breakdown begins at 11:40am. Please pick up all materials from your tent.
2 Registration/Donation Drop-off: *Heart walk does not require you to check in when you arrive* Only participants who need to turn in checks or cash donations will need to go to the donation drop off tent. The donation drop-off tent is #25 and is located next to the American Heart Association Mission tent #26. Transportation: We encourage walkers to take the metro. The metro opens at 7:00 am on Saturday. The closest metro stops are Smithsonian, Archives, and L Enfant Plaza. There is metered street parking and parking garages near the National Mall. A parking garage map is below. Please note that the opening of the parking garages may vary depending on location. Metro or ride sharing is strongly encouraged. Heart Walk Start Line
3 Route Participants have the choice to walk the 3-mile or 1-mile course. Please note that metered parking along Madison and Jefferson is limited. Water stations will be located along the route. Strollers, wheelchairs and dogs are welcome. The route map is attached. VIP Oasis (tent #13) Individuals (not teams) that raise $1,000+ will have access to the VIP Oasis, sponsored by Amazon Web Services. There will be hot breakfast and special treats for our Superstar walkers! In addition to other goodies from our sponsors, look at the new Heart Walk Scarf that will be included in your Top Walker gift bag!
4 Food and Drink There will be water, coffee and light snacks for all participants provided by Shoppers Food and Pharmacy, Eat Street tent #21 What to Do Sponsor Tents: If you need assistance, ask one of our volunteers, sponsored by Long and Foster! Write a post card that will be sent to a veteran (tent #34) Take a picture in Snapchat and swipe left to use or custom filter by Leidos!
