Since our last newsletter, we have had a couple of events and a few field training days, some good food and a lot of fun with friends 2 and 4 legged alike. As the year wears on, our thoughts will be turning to the holidays and time with friends and family. Some of us will be thinking of time a field with our dogs as they follow generations of breeding and instinct in the pursuit of game and fowl. For those who have never experienced a Labrador nose to beak with a rooster pheasant or the first time they run across a field only to find out how truly large that goose is, watched a dog swim in a confused circle as a duck dives to avoid being caught or give you that how could you have missed? look, you have my sympathy. J Just as watching any athlete achieve a new level skill, so it is to watch a retriever grow in the field. Each retrieve they grow in confidence, each flush they become more proficient. Anyone want to guess where my passion is? Our Sanctioned B (puppy) Match and Working Certificate test have come and gone. Those who attended each had a good time. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has joined in on these events. Not for the obvious reasons but, for your warmth and friendly natures. We have had several visitors that have all commented about the friendly, welcoming and willing to share group that you are. THANK YOU! Though I will probably see many of you before the upcoming holidays, let me say now; Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving and very Merry Christmas. 5 5 Volume 11, Issue 3 Rescue Report: Ohio Labrador Retriever Rescue To help Rescue, go to Amazon.com and click on the wish list link. Many items are low-cost but really appreciated! Lady Gaga, a current Rescue Labrador Since January 1st, Ohio Labrador Retriever Rescue has rehomed 89 Labrador Retriever, six other breed dogs, 13 cats, 33, kittens, one white fox and one pot-bellied pig. It has been an extremely successful year for the organization, which is continuing to place animals with the help of volunteers and donations. Licorice, following her surgery.
