Let s make 2019 as positive as it can be! 2018 AWARDS Mid-Jersey Labrador Retriever Club will present Awards for 2018 at our Annual Dinner on Wednesday, April 24, General qualifications for all awards are as follows: Dog must be owned by a member in good standing Co-owned dogs, in order to qualify for owner-handler recognition or owner-handler-breeder, must have been shown by the member-owner-handler or member-owner-handler-breeder. In order for an award to be granted to a dog, the dog must be either owned exclusively by a member, or if co-owned, must reside with the member at the time the dog qualifies, or both co-owners must be members or paid applicants for membership. For all plaques and perpetual trophies, the member must have attended three meetings and actively worked on two club events, or have worked on one event and served on the MJLRC board.. All Members must have been a MJLRC member for the entire year that all awards are requested for. In all instances, the owners will be responsible for the accuracy of their records. Each application must be accompanied by evidence of wins from the AKC website show results. Non-competitive awards such as Championship, CD, etc. must be accompanied by a copy of the certificate dated in ALL entries must be sent by mail (no ) with proper forms filled out. MJLRC will only be responsible for correct spelling from forms so please write legibly. Please note: where to send forms in bold is indicated below awards. PLAQUES Wooden plaques with add-on brass plates will be awarded for all AKC, CKC, UKC, and NAHRA recognized Bench, Field, Obedience and Agility titles earned during the year In order to apply for a plaque, a member must have attended three meetings during 2018 and have worked on two club events or worked on one club event and served on the MJLRC Board. A member who is not able to meet these criteria may apply for parchment certificates for the titles listed above. If you have already received a plaque, do not return it. Add-on plates will be distributed at the Annual Dinner. A separate plate will be awarded for each title earned and will include the name of the dog, year title earned, and owner-handled, owner-breederhandled, owner/breeder, or owner. You must submit evidence of the titles and your activities. CERTIFICATES

2 CERTIFICATES OF MERIT COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES Parchment certificates will be awarded for the categories listed below. Competitive awards will be based on wins shown on the AKC website show results for You must attach evidence of wins and of attendance as listed. All Members must have been a MJLRC member for the entire year the certificate is requested for. Top Winners Dog - Total number of dogs defeated while being awarded points toward an AKC Championship title (including Champions if awarded BOB or BOS). Top Winners Bitch - Same as for Winners Dog. Top Winning Specials Dog Owned by an Active Member - Total number of dogs defeated by a Champion dog at AKC shows. Applicant must have attended a minimum of two meetings in Top Winning Specials Bitch Owned by an Active Member - Same as for Specials Dogs. Top Winning Specials Dog - Total number of dogs defeated by a Champion dog at AKC shows. Top Winning Specials Bitch - Same as for Specials Dog. Top-Producing Stud Dog - Three or more Champions whelped in 2014 or later (4 yrs). Top-Producing Brood Bitch - Two or more Champions whelped in 2013 or later. (5 yrs) NON-COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES Parchment certificates will be awarded for the accomplishments and titles listed below. You must attach evidence of these achievements dated in All-Around Retriever Award - Any dog or bitch holding at least three AKC or LRC titles in Bench, Field, and Performance (e.g. CH, WC or JH and CD, NA, RN, or TD). Only a third title need be earned in Others may be earned in prior years. All titles must be obtained while you are an active MJLRC member. Outstanding Achievement - Any dog or bitch achieving an AKC, CKC, UKC, NAHRA title in consecutive shows, trials, or tests. There can be no NQ s prior to earning the title. Field - Any dog or bitch qualifying for a Working Certificate. Perpetual trophies will be entrusted to the winner for one full year and will include the dog and owner s names inscribed thereon. A certificate will be presented for permanent possession. To apply for one of these trophies, make sure you read the criteria carefully. All titles must be obtained while you are an active member of MJLRC. BREED

3 The Most Promising Junior Trophy in Memory of Am/Can Ch Arosca s Born in Sweden, TD, WC. Donated by Andrea Robertson and Gregg Kutsop. Requirements are: Award to be applied for and awarded after dog s second birthday (copy of AKC registration required for proof of age). Competition open to dogs and bitches 6-24 months of age (all AKC wins 6-24 months count). Owner-member handler only. Dog or bitch does not necessarily have its championship. Only AKC wins apply. Winner will be determined by the total number of dogs defeated through Best of Breed (firsts in regular classes, Res, BW, BOS). The Driftwood Bred-By Exhibitor Trophy - Bitch Only Donated by Bill & Dottie Black and Tony & Shirley Ciprian in memory of Pam Kelsey, Driftwood Labradors. Requirements are: Bitch may be either class dog or champion. Must have been shown to all wins by breeder. Wins must be Winners Bitch or better. The Dandelion Award for Top-Producing Brood Bitch - Donated by Agber Kennels, Agnes Cartier and Mary Stuart. The trophy is a full-size decoy mounted on a walnut base. This award will be based on the cumulative number of AKC champions produced by any one bitch. Although the bitch need not be living, her champion produce must have been whelped from a litter in 2013 or later. Requirements are: Applications must be accompanied by copies of the AKC Championship certificates and AKC registration of dogs or bitches whelped in 2013 or later. Produce does not necessarily have to be owned by the member applicant.. Minimum of two champion produce The Aroscas The Swedish Conqueror Memorial Trophy for Top-Producing Stud Dog Donated by Accolade Labradors, Andrea Robertson. The trophy is a full-size decoy mounted on a walnut base. This award will be based on the cumulative number of AKC champions produced by any one dog. Although the dog need not be living, his champion get must have been whelped from a litter in 2014 or later. Requirements are: Applications must be accompanied by copies of the AKC Championship certificates and AKC registration of dogs or bitches whelped in 2014 or later. Get does not necessarily have to be owned by the member applicant.. Minimum of three champion get All-Around Retriever Trophy - Donated by Andrea Robertson, Accolade Labradors. The trophy is a mounted wooden decoy. Requirements: Any dog or bitch holding at least three AKC or LRC titles in Bench, Field, and Performance (e.g. CH, WC or JH and CD, NA, RN, or TD). Only the third title need be earned in Others may be earned in prior years. The trophy will be awarded only once to any dog or bitch even when more advanced titles are achieved in the award year FIELD, OBEDIENCE AND AGILITY The Tara Tess Trophy for High Scoring Obedience Dog - Donated by MJLRC and Allen P. Cappuccio and Kathleen C. Hetfield in memory of Am/Can OTCh U-CDX Tara Tess, UD, JH, WC. The trophy is a bronze Labrador sculpture. Requirements are: Owner-member handler only. Only scores in regular AKC classes are counted.

4 Minimum of three qualifying scores is needed. Use scores from one class only, and use all the scores obtained in that class to calculate your average. Winner to be determined by highest average of AKC qualifying scores in Applications for all of the above must be sent to Maggie Black by March 14, 2019 FIELD, OBEDIENCE AND AGILITY con t Elmer s Trophy - Donated by Mimi Ruch in memory of U-CD Mimi s Elmer, Am/Can CDX, CGC 7/29/84-5/25/95. The Trophy is a mounted bronze Labrador sculpture. It is offered for Mid-Jersey Labrador club members who have achieved legs in performance events (regular classes) sanctioned by the American, Canadian, and United Kennel Clubs. Each leg earned counts for points according to the schedule below. An entire title does not have to be complete. For example, 1 JH leg + 4 CD legs (2 AKC and 2 CKC) = 15 points. All other achievements earned in the award year are listed as tie-breakers and count for one point each. Examples are achievements with States KC, NAHRA, USDAA, TDI, TT. Awards that duplicate legs such as Dog World Awards, Gaines events, placements cannot be used as tiebreakers. All legs and tie-breakers must be earned by the same dog and the same handler. The handler must be owner or co-owner of the dog. The handler must be an MJLRC member and must have been a member at the time the legs were earned. Applications for the trophy must be accompanied by copies of the published AKC show/test results, copies of the CKC or UKC judge s score sheets (these must be dated and legible), copies of the CGC or WC certificate. All tie-breakers must be similarly documented. If tie-breakers do not break a tie, the award goes to the dog and handler with points achieved by variety of performance. For example, 3 CDX legs + TD + two 1-point tie-breakers (18 total points) would win over 4 CDX legs + two 1-point tie-breakers (18 total points). The trophy is a mounted wooden decoy. It is offered for Mid-Jersey LRC members who have earned titles at AKC licensed performance events. Only one title need be earned in the year preceding the Awards Banquet. Points may be applied for titles earned in prior years. All titles must be earned by the same dog and same handler. The handler must be owner or co-owner of the dog. The handler must be an MJLRC member and must have been a member at the time all the legs of the title were earned. Applications for the trophy must be accompanied by copies of the AKC title certificates. Point values for titles are:

The trophy is a mounted bronze Labrador sculpture. The trophy is offered for MJLRC members whose dog has achieved legs, placements, and/or JAMS in field events sanctioned by the AKC, NAHRA, CKC, and UKC. The Field Dog Trophy is given to the dog with the highest number of points in the highest rating stake. Placements in field trial events will follow AKC credited point schedule. See placements in table below. All titles and legs must be earned by the same dog. Points may be applied for titles earned in prior years provided that the owner/co-owner was an MJLRC member at the time they were earned.
