The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog, and family members must both be a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in this class. VETERAN CLASS Veteran Dogs & Bitches may be spayed or neutered at Specialty Shows. BEST OF VARIETY COMPETITION Dogs that are Champions of Record and/or which according to their owner s record have completed the requirements for a Championship, but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of those dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for the Championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of 90-day period, the Championship of the dog has not been confirmed by the American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until it has been confirmed by AKC. PUPPY & VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES Puppy Sweepstakes is open to all AKC registered Schipperkes (except Champions of Record) who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age and Veterans 7 years and older on the day of the Sweepstakes. All dogs and bitches entered in PUPPY Sweepstakes MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes, indicating in the space for Additional Classes the entry in Sweepstakes. DISTRIBUTION OF SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE MONEY 35% of the entry fees will be retained by Schipperke Club of Central Arizona for expenses. The remaining 65% will be divided among the winners as follows: Best in Sweepstakes 5%, 1 st Place in each class 30%, 2 nd Place in each class 15%, 3 rd place in each class 10%, 4 th place in each class 5%. Class prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing dog/bitch. Claims for cash prize money must be made in the ring, before the judging of the Sweepstakes is over and the Club disclaims any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the Sweepstakes is over.

7 TROPHIES Trophies offered by SCCA through the generosity of members and friends will be Pewter Trophies, useful dog show and dog related items for the following: Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Select Dog, Select Bitch, Awards of Merit, Best of Winners, Winners Dog, Reserve Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, Reserve Winners Bitch, Best Puppy, Best Veteran, Best Bred By Exhibitor, Best Junior Handler, Best in Sweepstakes & Best Opposite in Sweepstakes (Puppy and Veteran). All unclaimed trophies become the property of SCCA. Trophies will not be mailed and must be claimed the day of the show. Award of Merit after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex, at Judge s discretion up to 3 Awards of Merit will be awarded. Rosettes of Belgium color Red, Yellow and Black. SWEEPSTAKES Puppy Sweepstakes Puppy Sweepstakes is open to all Schipperkes at least 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. These dogs are Schipperkes of any age, with or without papers, who were obtained through adoption from an original owner, known or unknown, who couldn t or wouldn t keep them. A Class Streamer Rosette with the dog s name will be awarded. PARADE OF PALS Dogs entered in this class may or may not be entered in a regular class at this show. These Schipperkes can be dogs of any age with or with out papers, who are loved and loving companions of their owners. A Class Streamer Rosette with the dog s name will be awarded. Dogs need not be entered in a regular class. Entries must also be made on an AKC Entry Form and sent to the Show Secretary listed on the Schipperke Club of Central Arizona Official AKC Entry Form. 9 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP CLASSIFICATION Novice Junior Novice Intermediate Novice Senior Open Junior Open Intermediate Open Senior Master JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Classes and Divisions. The regular Junior Showmanship Classes shall be: (A) Novice. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. (B) Open. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present. The winner of a Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the Open Class at the same show provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further providing there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the Open Class. Junior Handlers who win a third (3rd) Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. (C) Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes. Each of the regular classes may be divided by age into Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes, provided the division is specified in the premium list. A Junior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show. The Intermediate Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show. The Senior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. (D)Best Junior Handler. A club offering Junior Showmanship may offer a prize for Best Junior Handler provided there will be competition for this award, a minimum of two class winners present to compete for the award. The prize is described in the premium list. The Junior Handler placed first in each of the regular Junior Showmanship Class at that show, shall automatically be eligible to compete for this prize. Master: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.
