CLASSES and RUNNING ORDER: This running order is subject to change at the Judge s and/or Superintendent s discretion. Please reference the Carbon County Dog Manual for level descriptions. Saturday: Showmanship (Senior, Junior, Novice)*, Obedience Levels 1-5 *Showmanship is based on the competitor's age as of 10/1/17 Novice = 8-10 Junior = Senior = 14+ Sunday: Agility Levels 1-4**, Rally Levels 1-4 **Each competitor will have the opportunity to run the agility course twice, keeping the best score Please indicate the jump height on the entry form. JUMP HEIGHTS: No dog shall jump higher than 12 inches. Youth and their parents should consult with 4H coaches/instructors to determine their dog s jump height. The following guidelines may be helpful: Small dogs (11 inches or under at the withers): Medium dogs (between inches at the withers): Large dogs (over 14 inches at the withers): Jump 4 inches Jump 8 inches Jump 12 inches CHECK-IN: Friday 4:00pm-7:00pm, Saturday 8:00am Saturday: Showmanship starts at 9:00am Sunday: First Walk-thru 8:45am, first dog on the line at 9:00am ENTRY FEES: Pre-entries = $5.00/class - MUST be received by May 15, 2018 $10.00/class after May 15, 2018 *Day Of Show runs must be entered at least 2 classes prior. 2 REFUND POLICY: If someone withdraws from this trial at least 2 days prior to trial date, full refund will be given. In case of an injured dog, all but $5 will be refunded after the trial. Proof of vaccination for current rabies and distemper-parvovirus is required. 2. When dogs are not in a class, they must be on leash or in a portable kennel. Dogs are not allowed in the food areas. 3. Showmanship attire per fair guidelines is required for showmanship ONLY. Long sleeve, collard, button shirts (colored shirts are acceptable). Tennis shoes may be worn in classes. No sandals. No open toe shoes. 4. Treats may ONLY be used in Showmanship and in a manner not to distract other dogs/handlers. 5. Collars must be appropriately fitting. For Showmanship, Obedience, and Rally Obedience they may be buckle type or chain type. No chain collars in Agility. A slip lead may be used in Showmanship. Ultimately, the judge will have the final decision on the appropriateness of a collar and/or leash. No pronged nor pinch collars. 6. A 6 foot leash is required in Obedience. 7. Kenneling is encouraged during the dog show. Handlers should be aware of their dog s need for water and shade. 8. No communication is allowed to handlers from outside of the ring, unless from judge or trial staff. 9. Upon discretion of the judge and/or trial staff, a dog may be excused from the dog show for any behavior deemed inappropriate or dangerous. Similarly, the use of any abusive behavior by a handler toward a dog may result in a handler being dismissed from the dog show. 10. Handlers must keep their dogs away from interacting with other competitors dogs. No playing, no sniffing, no sharing of treats, etc. 11. Any competing dog that defecates or urinates during competition will be excused from the competition; furthermore, the handler is required to clean up his/her dog s excrement before, during, and after any class(es). 12. Handlers may speak to their dogs during the competition. Handlers may ask the judge for clarification if they do not understand a task. 13. Handlers must inform trial staff/judge if a dog is in heat. Lactating females may not be shown. 14. Handlers are asked not to bring ill dogs to competition. Any animal showing signs of illness will be excused from the dog show. For the safety of other animals, an ill dog will be asked to leave the grounds.

NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS OR PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED. This trial is to have fun with your dogs and enjoy the sport. PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOG ON A LEASH WHEN NOT IN THE RING. DOGS MAY NOT BE TIED TO A CRATE OR TREE OR ANYTHING ELSE.
