On and after March the classfcaton of artcles-malable under Secton 8 of the Act of August , authorzng the establshment of the parcel post servce shall be extended so as to nclude books. The rate of postage on books weghng 8 ounce.s or le.ss shall be one cpt for each-two ounces or fracton thereof anc nn those wejhng n e.\cess of 8 ounces the regular zone rate shall appl,v. Bass, and although the nght was the worst one ths wnter a goodly number braved the elements and were there to transact busness. t has been decded that the Board or Trade wll hold ts thrd annual banquet and entertanment ol Frday, January 80,1914, n the Presbyteran vestry, the lades of that church actng as caterers. Ths s a guarantee that the food wll be good and a plenty of t. The seatng capacty of the vestry s one hundred, therefore there wll be only one hundred tckets sold. The tckets wll be on sale at Cram's store the last of ths week, at $1.00 per plate. You wll need to bny your tckets early to be sure of attendng a satsfactory banquet. The fnal arrangements are not yet completed, especally regardng the entertanment, and other partculars may be gven n onr next ssue. OOB SXTH POOLTB! The great mprovement n the qualty of br s t.v. the frst show held s very marked, and <! s rv n be.-tter as a drect result of the attenton whch has been ^ven ths branch of ndustral farmng. We have to sa\ however that enough of our people do not take the nterest they should n such a worthy cause, for t does not beneft the few alone, but s almost a drect beneft to every one n town; the assocaton needs your help, and 'ts only a smal thng they ask of you yearly membershp and attendance at the show.
