3 SECTION 2 CHIEF STEWARD: POULTRY AND WATERFOWL SPECIAL POULTRY AND PIGEONS REGULATIONS (For the conduct of Poultry and Caged Birds competitions at QCAS affiliated Queensland Agricultural Shows) Subject to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Society s Inc. (QCAS) and the Society/Association relevant to this schedule, the following General Poultry and Pigeons Regulations shall apply. These regulations are to be read in conjunction with the General Regulations contained in this schedule. 1. NOTICE TO INTENDING EXHIBITORS 1.1. Birds can only be removed from showing area with the permission of the Chief Steward Any Bird entered in the incorrect class can, at the discretion of the Chief Steward, be re-entered in the correct class No birds to be removed or handled without the Steward s permission Any Bird found to have been tampered with may, at the discretion of the Stewards and Committee, be disqualified Eggs remain the property of the affiliated Agricultural Society No trimming, plucking or dyeing of feathers, staining of legs or any fraudulent practice will be allowed Every exhibitor will be deemed responsible for the condition in which his/her exhibit appears in the pen. It shall be permissible for Exhibitors to dub male game fowl and game bantams Birds must be true to breed, no cross breeds Banded birds are eligible for judging Junior Exhibitors must pen and unpen their own entries. 2. AGE OF EXHIBITS 2.1. Birds 12 months and over will be judged as adults. 3. JUDGING 3.1. Judging standards will be those recognised by the Australian Standard or the British Poultry Standard where applicable Exhibitors are not to talk to Judges during judging Judges are not to judge classes in which they have entered An Exhibitor shall not compete nor show any bird in a section if the bird has been owned or leased by the Judge or a member of the Judge s immediate family or if the Judge is the Exhibitor s employer or business partner An Exhibitor shall not compete if the Exhibitor or any bird being shown by the Exhibitor has been given tuition by the Judge or the Judge s business partner within three (3) months prior to or during the show An Exhibitor is ineligible to compete, if the Exhibitor has employed or has been employed by or has been a business partner of the Judge of the Section within three (3) months prior to or during the holding of the show A Judge shall not visit the bird-housing complex of the Agricultural Society, nor the owners, nor inspect or discuss any animal entered in the Show prior to or during the judging of the relevant section. 4. BIOSECURITY 4.1. All QCAS affiliated agricultural societies have developed a comprehensive Agricultural Show Biosecurity Plan and all event organisers, competitors and spectators have a joint responsibility to ensure the successful implementation of a biosecurity plan.

4 Regulations and Condition of Entry: 1. Entries are accepted subject to the Rules of The Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and the Regulations of the Sarina Show Society Inc. 2. Classes will be formed for all Breeds mentioned only where there are three or more of a breed, otherwise exhibits will be placed in AOV/AOC Classes. In AOV/AOC Classes where there are three or more exhibits of any one Breed, separate Classes will be provided for that Breed. 3. Breed Champions: Where there are fourteen (14) or more exhibits of a Breed, male and females will be judged separately for individual awards. 4. Only birds entered in Single Classes are eligible for single Championships. 5. Only Judges, Stewards and Adult Exhibitors will be permitted in the Pavilion during Judging. Exhibitors are not to talk to Judges during Judging. 6. No person is permitted to handle or use Judging Sticks on any other exhibitor s birds, Exhibitors can handle and use Judging Sticks on their own exhibits up to completion of penning birds. After completion of penning, no birds can be handled or have Judging Sticks used without the permission of the Chief Steward or Judge. This rule is enforced most seriously and endorsed by the FCAQ (Qld). 7. All Birds to be free of Lice and disease. 8. No birds are allowed to have leg bands 9. Exhibits must be the property of the Exhibitor. 10. Any bird found to have been tampered with may, at the discretion of the Stewards and Committee, be disqualified. Should any dispute arise for which there is no general rule the matter in dispute will be referred to the committee and their decision will be final. 11. Birds can be penned between 5.00pm and 7.00pm on Friday 3 rd August 2018 and 7.00am and 8:30am on Saturday, 4 th August BIRDS CAN ONLY BE REMOVED FROM SHOWING AREA WITH PERMISSION OF THE CHIEF STEWARD entries or more receive a FREE PASS. Entries must be in and paid for to receive this pass 13. All prize money is to be collected from the Sarina Show Society Office from 12 noon on Sunday 5 th August Any money not collected by the end of August will be donated back to the Sarina Show Society. Judging will commence at 9.00am on Saturday 4 th August ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 27 th JULY NO LATE ENTIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. To the Secretary, Sarina Show Society Inc. PO Box 119, Sarina. The Poultry Pavilion will be open to the Public from 11am to 6.00pm on Saturday and from 8.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday. Birds can be re-claimed after 3.00pm on Sunday
