2 Welcome The 18 th National Cocker Spaniel Championship Show will be hosted by the Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland Inc on 9 th and 10 th August The show will be held at the Rocklea Show Grounds, on the corner of Ipswich Road and Goburra Street. The venue has undercover areas, grassed areas for our dogs and plenty of parking. We hope this venue will provide the area and atmosphere for you to enjoy this National experience. 6 Advertising Advertising in the catalogue is a great way to showcase your Kennel. Not only are the catalogues a great memento, exhibitors refer back to them and copies end up all over the world so it is great exposure. The price is $30 per colour page. The catalogue will be professionally printed. Print ready artwork will need to be supplied. The format for submission is to be a PDF file or a MS Word document. Print ready Ads should be ed to the Secretary at estoneley@bigpond.com Payment for advertising can be made by either direct deposit to the Club bank account or by cheque. The deadline for submission of advertisements is 24 th June Alcohol Rocklea Showgrounds is a licensed facility. Normally no alcohol is permitted to be taken into the venue at any time. However for those exhibitors who wish to have a drink during the day we have negotiated permission for exhibitors to bring their own drinks if they wish BUT empty bottles and cans etc. are to be placed in rubbish bins. A bar will operate during the presentation dinner so no alcohol can be taken into the dinner. 7 Catalogues The catalogue will be available on the first day of the National. Cost of the catalogue is $25 -- pre-ordered with your entries. Place your catalogue order with Show Manager or the Show Secretary A limited number of extra catalogues will be available at the show. Advertising in the catalogue is available. See advertising prices above. All donations and sponsors will be acknowledged in the catalogue. Closing Ceremony The Closing Ceremony, and hand over to the next host club, will take place at the conclusion of the Championship Show on Friday. 9 Dinner A Dinner will be held on Friday evening following the Trophy Presentation. The Dinner will be held at the Durack Tavern -- next door to Durack Show Grounds. (See Venues) The meal will be a 3 course alternate service meal. The cost of the dinner will be $55 per person and booking will be essential and should be made with Show manager or the Show Secretary when you do your show entries. The menu for the meal is: 1) Entrée Served as Canape style platters i) Slow roasted pork belly with apple puree and crackle ii) Braised lamb shoulder on pita bread with tzatziki iii) Satay chicken skewers with coriander yoghurt 2) Main alternate serve i) 200g Rump served with Wok tossed Asian Vegetables Rosemary and garlic roasted chat potatoes Mushroom sauce ii) Lemon and Herb Chicken Thigh with Wok tossed Asian vegetables Gratin Potato Bearnaise peppercorn sauce 3) Dessert i) Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream ii) Lemon Cheesecake Water provided for each table. Exercising Dogs There is plenty of grassed areas throughout the venue, however, we ask all exhibitors to ensure they clean up after their dogs. Poo bags will be provided in each Exhibitor bag. Exhibitor Bags All exhibitors will receive a free exhibitor s bag containing a variety of items including catalogue (if ordered) and exhibit numbers. 11 Exhibitor Set-up There are several areas adjacent to the ring that are covered and are suitable for exhibitors to set up. Exhibitors will not need to bring marquees/gazebos, tables or chairs. First Aid Officer and Wellness Centre A qualified First Aid Officer will be present on the grounds during the show. Hannah and Bob use Laser, Acupunture, Massage, Reiki< Physio, Flower essences and much more. Food / Drinks / Refreshments Carolyn s Canteen An on-site snack bar adjacent to the ring will be open each day from 8.00am. Jody s Coffee Van Will also be present on site for the two days. 15 Order of judging Thursday dogs starting with AOC Baby Puppy Dog followed by Solid Baby Puppy Dog etc. Dog Challenge. Junior Handler Competition to follow Breed judging on Day 1. Friday bitches starting with AOC Baby Puppy Bitch followed by Solid Baby Puppy Bitch etc. Bitch Challenge then all In-Show classes. Breeders Team to follow General Specials Judging will commence at 9am both days. There is plenty of Free onsite parking. Designated Drop-off area adjacent to ring. Standing time only at drop-off zone Follow the signs to the parking area Our photographer for the show is: Parking Photographer / Videographer Patrik Berger Patrik will be at the Championship Show both days, and at the evening Presentation Dinner. 16 Place Markers All exhibitors awarded a place in their class are asked to remain at the place markers until the steward has recorded their exhibit numbers and the judge has completed dictating his critique. Sponsorship We are always appreciative and grateful for any donations and sponsorship and donations will go towards making the trophy table the biggest and best. Like any Club, the success of the show, and to a large extent, the quality of the trophy table, is not only dependent on the hard work of members fund raising efforts, but also from donations. Every little bit helps buying and selling raffle tickets, or a straight out cash donation. All donations will be acknowledged in the catalogue. This list will be on our website, and constantly updated. Trophy Presentation Trophy Presentation will be held at the Durack Tavern at 6pm prior to the dinner.
