Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owner's records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's records. If at the end of the 90-day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by the American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by the AKC. CHALLENGE TROPHIES The following Challenge Trophies are offered for permanent possession when won three time by the same owner not necessarily with the same dog and are offered through the Dalmatian Club of San Diego County Inc. at it s Specialty Shows only. All dogs entered in the Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class at this specialty. Veterans Sweepstakes is open to all Dalmatians 7 years and older. Veterans do not have to be entered in a regular class. Entry in the Sweepstakes Classes are to be indicated in the "Additional Classes" space. Be sure to include the age division in the same space. The remaining 75% will be divided, adjusted for unfilled classes, and rounded to nearest dollar, as follows: Any prizes not awarded will go to the Trophy Fund. 40% in each class for First Prize 25% in each class for Second Prize 15% in each class for Third Prize 10% in each class for Fourth Prize 10% from each Junior class for Best Junior 10% from each Senior class for Best Senior Veteran Sweeps 40% in each class for First Prize 25% in each class for Second Prize 15% in each class for Third Prize 10% in each class for Fourth Prize 10% from each class for Best Veteran in Sweeps JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or Open Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the lime entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are al least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or Open Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or Novice Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or Open Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. Each dog handled in a Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the show, or must be entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog may be substituted. Such substitution must be accompanied by an official AKC entry form. All such substitutions must be made one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship Classes at the show. Each dog must be owned or co-owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler's father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather or grandmother, including step and half relations or by a member of the Junior Handler's household. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Shows or in Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a Breed Judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the Veterinarian for the protection of the other dogs at the show or for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging or one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show, whichever is earlier. Winning of first place in an Open Class at this show may qualify or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes. Please note that the catalog is formatted as half of a letter size sheet (5½w x 8½h) and the proportions are not the same as an 8½x11 sheet in portrait format. Exhibitors may request an EXHIBITOR PASS ($13) good for the entire weekend from the parking attendant at the Solana Gate. All buildings will be open at 6:00 AM. Specialty parking is available after 1 PM Thursday. No ACCESS to any buildings before 6 AM Friday. Rings are in the BING CROSBY, EXHIBIT, & PAT O BRIEN HALLS. (Dalmatians will be in the Exhibit Hall.) Flexible and/or retractable leads are prohibited in and around all the buildings during show hours. Exercise pens will not be allowed in any building. Crates must be stacked. Crates and tables will not be allowed in the aisles of the show area, or within 30 feet of any ring unless marked otherwise. No crates, pens, grooming or parking of vehicles will be permitted between the Bing Crosby Hall and Exhibit Hall and Pat O Brien Hall. Electricity will be very limited inside all buildings. Guards will patrol throughout the show. No parking in fire lanes (which are 20 feet from all buildings.) Loading zone: Will be about where the Don Diego Clock Tower used to be. Ten minutes maximum to unload dogs and move vehicle to parking area. NO DOGS ALLOWED IN EXHIBIT HALL OR O'BRIEN HALL AFTER 6 PM. & NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE IN RINGS. Handicapped parking is available to those with DMV plates/placards. Handicapped parking is to provide easy (paved) access, not necessarily next to ring. All parking is at your own risk. Dalmatian Club of San Diego County and Silver Bay Kennel Club reserve the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending these dog shows hereby waive any claim for damages against either club for such removal. PLEASE pick up after your dogs. IMPORTANT - NOTICES TO EXHIBITORS Silver Bay Kennel Club is again offering reserved grooming areas. Grooming spaces are $70 for a 10 x10 area located in the buildings with electric service. (In the exhibit Hall this will be along the West end of the building.) See the SBKC Premium List for a reservation form or order on-line at: All dogs must be out of Exhibit Hall and Bing Crosby Hall by 6:00 PM daily, including reserved grooming. Please bring your own chairs, as chairs will not be available at ringside. Clean-up is your responsibility! Pooper scoopers will be placed at all X-pens, and clean-up personnel will be around the grounds near rings. If your dog soils the parking lot or show grounds, you are responsible for clean-up. By signing the entry form you are agreeing that clean-up is your responsibility. Exhibitors, please notify a show official if you see an area needing clean-up. Exhibitors will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates both during and after the show. Waste water may NOT be emptied on the grounds or drained into open containers. All rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show or the persons or animals participating in it shall belong solely to the DCSDC and Silver Bay Kennel Club and their respective assigns. All persons and animals on the showground's while the show is in progress,do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to DCSDC and Silver Bay Kennel Club the right to televise, videotape, photograph, audiotape or otherwise, use their likenesses and voice in any manner without further release or consent. DCSDC and SBKC are not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors. No peddling, soliciting, delivery of merchandise or passing out publications or literature without written permission of SBKC. NO SET-UPS OF FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE BUILDINGS. The fairgrounds strictly enforces this provision. No RAFFLES, games of chance or donation soliciting is allowed in any of the buildings. These must be confined to the designated motorhome area. Any exhibitor who does not adhere to these rules may be subject to disciplinary action. PARKING Del Mar Fairgrounds will charge $13.00 for day of show parking, subject to change. Specialty Show Parking opens after 2 PM Thur. No building access before 6 AM Fri. HANDICAPPED PARKING is available and is to provide easy (paved) access, not necessarily next to rings. Generators will not be allowed in the partking area North of the Exhibit Hall and North of Bing Crosby Hall or any of the buildings. Only spaces West of the Exhibit Hall (West Parking Lot/ Solana Gate) will be allowed to use generators. OVERNIGHT MOTORHOME & RV PARKING Limited spaces with full hook-ups are available through the Fairgrounds on a first come, first served basis. For availability and reservations, call (858) x No generators in use before 6:00 AM or after 10:00 PM. PRIVILEGED PARKING The Privileged Parking spaces are extended as a privilege by SBKC. Parking Charge is $40.00 per day. Reservations must be received by Feb. 7, If not received, payment at the gate will be $45.00 per day and MUST BE PAID IN CASH. No guarantee spaces will be available. Parking passes will be mailed. No cancellations or refunds. Electric hookup is an additional $ and only available when overnight parking is paid in advance. Parking will be available Thur. 2 PM to 10 PM, Fri. 6-8 AM & 2-10 PM, Sat. 6-7 AM & after BIS to 9 PM, Sun, 6-7 AM. All units must be self contained. Waste water may not be emptied on the grounds or drained into open containers. There are no water hookups in Privileged Parking area.
