Helping Others Many people may need our help. When I am on the MTR or on a bus, I can give my seat to the old people. At school, if my classmates get hurt, I can take them to the sick room. If my friends are sad, I can comfort them and make them happy! At home, I always help my mum because I have a naughty brother, he often cries. I need to do the housework at home, like sweeping the floor, cleaning the table, tidying my room and making my little brother happy. I like helping others because it is happier than playing computer games or playing with my friends. If everybody can be a helpful person, the world will be better and full of love! By Cheung Chun Kei, Kinki(4A) 1

Helping Others Many people may need our help. We can help the elder people, out classmates and our parents. When I am on the MTR or on a bus, I always give my seat to the elderly and the other people who are taking some things. When I am at school, I help the students who get hurt. I always help the teacher to take the books or homework. When I am at home, I always help my parents to sweep the floor, take care of my younger brothers, set the table, clean the table and clean the windows. If I help the others, the other people will be very happy and I will be very happy too. By Mak Chin Siu, Dennis(4A) 1

A Crime At 12 n.n. last Sunday, I was in a department store. I was shopping there with my mum when I saw a robbery. Two men who were wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, a black cap, a black mask, black shoes and sunglasses held a gun and went to the cashier. They said, Put your hands up and give me the money! A woman saw it. She called the police immediately. Ten minutes later, the two robbers wanted to run because they had to escape from the police after they had taken all the money. Unfortunately, the police came. The robbers fired their guns and threw some eggs to the police. At last, they couldn t escape so they held a customer hostage. They held my classmate, Ben, because he was the person who was the nearest from the robbers. The robbers used a gun to aim at Ben s head. The police could finally catch the robbers because Ben punched one of the robbers but he got hurt. The other robber s jaw dropped open because Ben was so brave. This robbery was very scary and exciting. I hope I will not be the victim in any crimes. By Fung Sik Chit, Jacky (5A)

But let s eat first! I m hungry! said my sister. Then we finished eating quickly. We went to the police station. Wow! Where did you find it? a policeman asked us. At the KFC Fast Food Shop, I said. Well done, kids! You are not greedy, the policeman said. Oh! Thanks, we said. At that moment, we saw the owner in the police station. He said, Thanks for your help! 13 My favourite transport in Hong Kong Although Hong Kong is such a small area comparing to other cities, there are different kinds of public transport, such as minibuses, taxis, trams, MTR, buses and ferries. We can go to different places very easily. There are both advantages and disadvantages of each means of transport. Among all the public transport, my favourite one is taxi. I travel by taxi once or twice a month. I travel to my aunt s house. I like travelling by taxi because it s comfortable, cool and convenient. I can always get a seat. The seats are really soft. Sometimes I can watch TV on the taxi and I can even use apps to call taxis! Although there are a lot of advantages about travelling by taxi, there are also some disadvantages. Travelling by taxi is really expensive and it s hard to find a taxi during rush hour. Sometimes, I need to wait for a long time when there is a traffic jam. By Chen Shi Yu, Linda (5B)

Alan made a mistake? One day, Alan saw a woman opening his neighbour s window. She was in the black T- shirt and black jeans. She had long straight hair and wore sunglasses. She wanted to climb into a flat from the window secretly. Alan thought she must be a thief! He felt frightened. Suddenly, he remembered what his mum said when he saw a crime. Alan picked up the phone and called the police for help. Then the policemen came and saw the thief climbing into the flat. So they quickly caught the thief. The thief was shocked and told the policemen, I am not a thief! I live here. Set me free! The policemen took off her glasses. Alan said with a big surprise, Oh! The woman was my neighbour! The neighbour said, I forgot my key, so I climbed into the flat. Then Alan baked some biscuits and gave her as a gift. He said sorry to her for the mistake he made. By Hung Shing Yau, Loby(5B)

Visiting interesting places in Hong Kong 5B Josephine To : candyfong@funmail.net From : jimmycheung@kidsnet.com Dear Candy, How are you? Did you have a good weekend? I had the best weekend ever! I went to the Science Museum, the Space Museum and Hong Kong Wetland Park last week. These places are very popular in Hong Kong. On Saturday morning, I went to the Science Museum with my brother and father. I have never been there. I saw some models about airplane and dinosaurs. Those displays were amazing! After visiting the Science Museum, I went to the Space Museum. It was my second time to visit there. I watched a sky show about the information of space. On Sunday, I went to Hong Kong Wetland Park with my best friends. I ve been there twice. I saw a lot of plants and animals. The plants were unique. I saw some funny animals, such as Pui Pui the crocodile, crabs and birds. Have you ever been to these places? If you haven t been to these places, I wish you can spend some time to visit these places. I m sure you will love them. Please write soon. Love, Jimmy

My favourite transport in Hong Kong In Hong Kong, there are lots of public transports. For example, taxi, bus, minibus, train, ferry, tram, Peak tram and the MTR. We can go to different places by different kinds of transports. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages for each means of transport. Among all the public transports, my favourite one is taxi. I travel by taxi once a month. I travel by taxi only when I am almost late for an activity. I usually travel to Sai Kung. Travelling by taxi has a lot of advantages. First, it is very comfortable to travel in a taxi. Second, it is convenient and fast. Third, you will never feel crowded in a taxi because there is a limit for the number of people in it. Although travelling by taxi is comfortable, it is expensive. I enjoy travelling by taxi because it is quiet and there is air conditioning and interactive TV. I hope that there will be cheaper fares in the future. I hope you like taking the taxi too. 17 Last Saturday Jack s mum was teaching Jack how to make a pizza. Mus said, First use a knife to chop the ingredients --- Ham, cheese and tomatoes finely. You should be careful. It s dangerous. Jack was starting to cut the ingredients while mum was saying, Next spread some ketchup on the pizza base evenly. After that put the ingredients on the pizza base prettily. Finally bake the pizza in the oven for fifteen minutes at C. Jack made it well. He was happy and he thought, if Dad sees the pizza that I made, he must be happy too! He put the pizza into the oven and bake it. Mum called Dad, Our son is making a pizza. Come home quickly and taste if. Okay! Dad replied. He looked forward tasting it. Jack went back to the living room. Have you made the pizza yet? Mum asked. Jack answered, Yes, of course. Then they watched TV together. They laughed a lot. Half an hour later, they smelt some awful smell, like some burning smell. Oh, no! I ve forgotten the pizza! Jack screamed and he rushed to the kitchen and took the pizza out quickly but it has already burnt. Mum said, It s all black. We can t eat it. They threw it into the rubbish bin. Son, daddy is looking forward to eating it. If he knows the pizza became a rubbish, he must be blue. What can we do? Mum asked. Jack proposed, Let s buy a pizza instead. So they bought a pizza from a nearby Italian restaurant. When Dad came home, he saw the pizza on the plate. He took a slice of pizza, tasted it at once and said, Oh, it s yummy! I can t believe it s made by my lovely son! He was really amazed! By Jodie Poon (5C)

Dr Oops s Robot 5C Cassandra Tom Smoke always came out from a laboratory in Central. The cause of it was one of the inventors --- Dr Oops. He was very careless, but clever. His carelessness always got the best of him. His inventions were useful but always were missing a piece or two. One day, Dr Oops noticed that there were lots of kids who don t have much care and teachings from their parents because their parents were always busy. He wanted to help them. So he decided to make a robot who can do housework and look after children. He got the materials and started working. He cut metal, plastic, wood and glass to the desired length and shape. Then he put everything into place. He stuck the glass eyes and metal ears onto the plastic head and the legs and arms onto the wooden body. After that he attached the head to the body. Finally, he had to do the hardest part, which was making the robot able to move. After all, the robot had to help children. After all that hard work, he called his boss, Antonio, to come and see the finished product. Antonio was interested in the idea of helping children with an invention, so he was excited to see the robot. When Dr Oops demonstrated how the robot works, he thought it would change the entire world. During the final testing period, Dr Oops noticed that the right leg was stuck in the wrong place. The robot was heating up and smoke emerged from it. Dr Oops quickly turned it off to prevent any more damage and danger. He apologized to his boss and asked for one more day to finish and perfect the robot. His boss sighed and walked away saying that the next day was the deadline. Dr Oops spent all night repairing the robot because he really wanted to help the children. Surprisingly, the robot worked the next day! His boss was very impressed and told him to make more. The robot really did changed the whole world. A lot of children were looked after by the robot because buying this robot is cheaper than hiring a maid. Now the world knows the robot as MAID ROBOT.

Doughnut Festival People in Hong Kong enjoy celebrating different festivals. Besides celebrating traditional festival, such as Chinese New Year and Easter, it is time for them to have a new one to celebrate. I design a festival which is called Doughnut Festival. People celebrate this festival because this day is Valentine s Day, and they want to share their happiness with each other. Moreover, couples on that day stay together and become as perfect as a circle, which looks like the shape of doughnut. People celebrate this festival on 14 th February. It takes place in Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. Since this festival is very popular among people in Asia, people in Western would like to get a taste of this festival too. In this festival, people like to design and make a doughnut and give it to others as a gift. They make their own tea too. They learn how to brew tea. They will also have a competition on rolling doughnut and have a doughnut fashion show on that day. During this festival, Doughnut and different tea are eaten such as Jasmine tea and green tea. On that day, people will wear colorful clothes including yellow, orange and pink clothes. In addition, people like to wear clothes which are made up with plastic Doughnut. I hope Doughnut festival can bring love and happiness to people all over the world and people can enjoy this festival just like me. By Leung Ngo Shuen, Sonia (6A)

Ice-Cream Festival Every one like to eat icecream, so people celebrate a festival called Ice-Cream Festival. People celebrate this festival because some people haven t enough money to buy ice-cream to eat. The poor people can have the opportunity to taste and enjoy the flavor of ice-cream during the festival. They are very glad. We can eat the free ice-cream together too, of course, we are excited and interested on this festival. Moreover, people wear icecream clothes, and they wear T- shirt and short pans, because it has the feeling of summer. In this festival, people eat icecream and ice lolly. They think this festival as good as gold. This festival is celebrated in Hong Kong and China s every street. People are as happy as a king. They are touched too, because they have fun in this festival and some poor people have ice-cream to eat. This festival is moving and meaningful, and it makes people feel sweet like honey. By Ma Wing Sze, Cindy (6A)

Desert Festival (6A Leung Yung Kei, Rita) Desert Festival is a festival that celebrate the desert people make. Are you interested in this festival? Although this festival can celebrate people making desert, it has another reason to celebrate. During the Desert Festival, people make so many desert at their home so that the street are full of sweet smell. The smell is as sweet as honey. All the people like this smell. This festival also can make thin people become fatter because in each meal they have to eat at least one desert. This festival is celebrated on 7 th July each year. It takes place at home because people have to make desert. There is a carnival in each country. At the carnival, there are so many exciting and contented games. There is an amusing clown too. The clown can play magic. It can make people as happy as a king. There is a machine to make marshmallow. The marshmallow is soft like silk. This machine can also make different cartoon characters by itself! Are you amazed about it? After my introduction, do you think it is a great festival?

A Silly Wish One day, a short boy called Terry found a glass bottle at his grandma s home. He dropped the bottle on the floor carelessly and the bottle was broken. All of a sudden, a genie appeared and said happily, I can give you one wish. What do you want? Terry was surprised. He shouted excitedly, I want to be taller! The genie nodded and whispered a magic spell. After a while, Terry grew taller and taller. He was as tall as a house. He was too tall so he asked the genie to help him again. However, the genie refused his request because he could give him one wish only. I have an idea! Let s go to ask the wizard for help, the genie suggested. Then, they went to the wizard s house. The wizard lived far away. They walked for three days and finally reached his house. The wizard gave some magical medicine to Terry. He was so happy and drank it immediately. However, he drank too much. He was as small as an ant. In the end, a strong wind blew into the house and Terry was blown away. by Kong Cheuk Lam, Natalie (6B)

A Greedy Farmer by Law Wai Lam, Leah (6B) Long ago, there was a farmer called Frank. He was as lazy as a pig. He didn t like to work but he liked sleeping very much. He always slept under the trees in his farm because it was comfortable. One day, he went to the market to buy a goose. When he went home, the goose laid a golden egg. Frank couldn t believe his eyes and shouted, Oh! You ve laid a golden egg! He was as happy as a king. The goose replied, I can lay a golden egg for you every day. Frank answered happily, Great! I can be wealthy soon! However, Frank was too greedy because he wanted more golden eggs. He thought there was more eggs inside the goose s stomach so he wanted to kill the goose and cut open it. He didn t want to wait anymore. When Frank was sharpening his knife, the goose turned into a fairy and flew away suddenly. After a while, the fairy returned with a magic stick. She said disappointedly, You are so greedy! Finally, the fairy used magic to turn Frank into a fat ugly pig forever.

A Meeting in the Forest One day some endangered animals had a meeting in the forest. Elephant was the first one to speak. He said, I hate humans. They use up so many resources. They destroy the forest. They but the trees to make a lot of paper. Therefore, we lose our home. Unless people stop destroying the forest, we will become extinct. Humans kill us for our tusks too. They use our tusks to make ivory ornaments. How cruel they are! Then tiger spoke. She said, I hate humans too. They keep hunting us to make a lot of expensive rugs, handbags and clothes. Therefore, there are less than 2500 tigers in the world only. They also want our bones to make Chinese medicine. After that Panda cried, Humans don t hunt us but they destroy our home. We always get hungry because we do not have enough food. We can t survive unless they stop destroying the forest. In the meeting, all the animals were angry but they could do nothing. What can humans do to help them? by Wong Chun Hang, Eric (6B)

The Greedy Farmer Once upon a time, Farmer Frank slept under a tree. He liked sleeping and eating so he was as heavy as an elephant. He didn t like working but he needed to feed his animals every day. One day, when Farmer Frank was feeding the goose, he saw a golden egg next to it. Oh! You ve laid a golden egg! he said surprisingly. Suddenly, the goose opened her mouth and said, I can lay a golden egg for you every day. Therefore, Farmer Frank gave it the best food every day. The goose really laid one golden egg to Farmer Frank every day. One day, when Farmer Frank fed the good, he had an idea. He thought, Maybe there are more eggs in its stomach. Therefore, he took out a knife to cut open the goose s stomach. When Farmer Frank cut open it stomach, he didn t find any golden eggs. He wanted more golden eggs but then he killed the goose. He was very disappointed. By Chan Wing Kwan, Kitty(6C)

Save our Earth Our Earth is sick because there are a lot of pollutions around it. Therefore, we should save the Earth and protect it. First, we shouldn t waste energy. We should turn down the air-con or use fans in the summer. We should stop leaving the lights on when we go out. We can also use energy saving ling bulbs to save even more energy. We shouldn t waste water either. We should have showers instead of baths because baths use more water than showers. We should have showers instead of baths because baths use more water than showers. We should never leave the tap on or throw the rubbish into the river. We should also stop wasting paper and plastic in order to protect the environment. We should use both sides of the paper before we throw it away. We can also recycle it with old newspapers. Use a facecloth instead of tons of tissues. Use s and read online newspapers instead of the paper ones. These also save your money too. Bring your own bag instead of buying plastic bags when you go shopping because it doesn t cause land pollution and saves money. You can reuse your own plastic bags or recycle them with other plastic products. Use less straws and disposable products because it makes pollution more serious. Doing these things are as easy as A-B-C. Protecting the environment starts with you and me. Take action now. It s not too late! By Wong Tsz Kit, Herman (6C)

Animals in danger One day some endangered animals had a meeting in the forest, Elephant was the first one to speak. He said, I hate humans. They use up so many resources. They cut down trees to make paper and boxes, Therefore we lose our habitat and we become homeless. There ll be no fresh air soon unless people stop destroying the forests. The also waste so much water because they have baths every day. They are very selfish! I was so disappointed with them. They should stop having baths too. The Tiger spoke. She said, I hate humans too. They keep hunting us for our fur. They use them to make handbags, clothes and doormats. We ll become extinct unless people stop hunting us. I was so angry with them. They won t care about us. Panda was the last one to speak. He said, I hate humans very much! They destroy our bamboo forest to make bamboo chopsticks. Therefore we do not have enough food to eat. I was so hungry. They shouldn t destroy bamboo forest. If they stop it, we can survive. After the meeting, the animals found a piece of paper and a pen to write a letter to humans. Then they gave it to a lumberjack and the lumberjack gave it to President Obama. President Obama wrote back to the animals. He apologized to the animals and promised them that people won t cut down so many trees and bamboo or waste so much water. At the end, all the animals lived happily in the forest. 6C Yeung Ching Tung, Tobe
