4 ENTRIES RULES & REGULATIONS (Revised 2014) 1. Whether posted or hand delivered, it is the responsibility of Exhibitors to ensure Entry Forms are received by the Show Recorder no later than the closing date stated for each Section. 2. Entries should be on the official Entry Form (or photo copy) and lodged with entry fees. 3. Acceptance of late entries is at the Chief Stewards discretion and may incur a monetary penalty. 4. The committee reserves the right to refuse, cancel or accept conditionally, any entry, without public explanation. 5. Unless elsewhere noted, exhibitors may enter as many distinct exhibits in each class as desired. 6. Entries in Sections A - G may be entered in the name of an individual, partnership or stud. 7. Entries in Sections J - Z may only be in the name of a single individual. The committee reserves the right, under particular circumstances, to accept collective entries. 8. Entry Fees and Prize Money are detailed within each Section of this Schedule. EXHIBITS 9. Exhibits must be in the hands of the Stewards by the time stated in section notes and conform to the guidelines given in section notes. Exhibits not presented by that time may not be accepted for judging. 10. Anticipated Judging times are stated in section notes but may vary slightly at the Stewards discretion. 11. Exhibits, Prize Cards and Ribbons must not be removed before 5.00pm on Show Day. 12. Points shall be awarded for Classes only, 1st-3pts, 2nd-2pts, 3rd-1pt. Exhibits will be judged on their merits and prizes awarded at the judge's discretion. For encouragement, children category awards will be determined by comparison of exhibits on display. 13. Exhibits must be the property of the exhibitor and except for livestock and certain children's classes, either grown or made by the exhibitor. 14. No identification marks are to be visible on exhibits unless requested in section notes. EXHIBITS SHALL REMAIN EXHIBITED UNTIL PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES IN THE HALL IS COMPLETE. EXHIBITORS 15. Each Exhibitor will receive a yellow "Confirmation of Entries" form. This lists all exhibits by an Entrant and is a receipt for fees paid. This form must be presented to collect Prize Money and to collect exhibits at close of show. 16. Any exhibitor interfering with exhibits before or after judging may be disqualified. 17. All reasonable care will be taken to safeguard exhibits, but the Society does not accept responsibility for any loss of, or damage to exhibits. It is a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Society blameless and indemnified against any legal proceedings arising from any such loss or damage. Exhibitors should claim their exhibits at close of show as the Society is unable to ensure continued safe storage. 18. Exhibitors should ensure their exhibits are entered in the correct Class. The Chief Steward may alter the Class entered of an exhibit if the original Class selection is deemed inappropriate. 19. Advertisements are not permitted on any exhibit, stall, pen or enclosure prior to judging. 20. During judging, ONLY STEWARDS are to be in attendance of the Judges. The general public and Exhibitors are not to interfere in the judging process in any manner. GENERAL 21. Prize Money: Donated/Sponsored cash prizes must be in the hands of the Treasurer before judging. All cash prizes will be available from the Treasurer on Show Day. Prize Money to be claimed before the end of the show year. 22. Stock suffering from any parasite or infectious disease must be removed immediately from the Showgrounds. 23. Vehicles not forming part of a vendors display must be removed from the showgrounds before 9am. 24. Exhibitors contravening the Rules and Regulations of the Society shall forfeit all Prize Money and Awards. 25. Ground space fees will be set by the Committee and spaces allocated by the Chief Ground Steward. 26. Badge carrying members and Pass holders have free admission to the show.

5 All exhibitors are required to pay ground admission fee. Exceptions: Horse Floats &- Stock Vehicles: Two persons per verhicle are permitted free access. 27. Any other matters arising in connection with or incidental to the Show shall be resolved by the committee. 28. The committee has the right to remove any persons from the Showgrounds without public explanation On Show Day the Gidgegannup Agricultural Society Office is located in the Landcare Building, on the rise near Gate 1 at the South West corner of the Showgrounds. 25 INGREDIENTS 2 Cups (300g) raisins - coarsely chopped 1 cup (150g) dried apricots - coarsely chopped 3/4 cup (150) red glace cherries - coarsely chopped 1 1/2 cups (240g) sultanas 1 cup (160g) currants 3/4 cup (180ml) water 1/2 cup (125 ml) whisky 250 g (8 ounces) butter - chopped 1 cup (220g) brown sugar - firmly packed 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 4 eggs - lightly beaten 1 1/4 cups (185g) self raising flour 1 1/4 cups (185g) plain flour 1/2 cup (60g) pecans - coarsely chopped 1/3 cup (55g) blanched almonds - coarsely chopped 1/4 cup (45g) roasted pistachios Extra two tablespoons whisky METHOD Preheat oven to 150 o C. Grease a deep 22cm (9-inch) round cake tin; line base & side with two thicknesses of baking paper, extending 5cm (2") above edge. Combine raisins, apricots, cherries, sultanas, currants, water, whisky, butter, sugar, and soda in a large saucepan; stir over a medium heat until butter is melted and sugar dissolved. Bring to the boil, transfer to a large bowl & cool to room temperature. Stir eggs into fruit mixture Stir in sifted flours and nuts. Spread mixture evenly into pan; tap on bench to level top. Bake for 2 hours and 40 minutes. Brush hot cake with extra whisky & cover immediately with foil. Cool cake in cake tin over night.
