My Thanks to Janet and Team, lovely journey up to Shropshire, NO SNOW! Made it in record time for a Friday, fab evening with my fellow Judges and my thanks to Les Hall for steering me around the whole hall in all 6 sections. IMPERIAL CLASS- AV SECTION 3 GR CH ADULT MALE IMP GR CH SUTTON S GR CH LEKATI CAPTAIN-MORGAN (BSH b 24) M Not many around and when a good one comes along they stand out! Wonderful warm tones to the spotting well done! Lovely open British type, excellent width to top of well rounded head, excellent fullness of cheeks and rounded muzzle. Smallish ears set very well apart and short straight broad nose, lovely large round eyes of a good colour set wide apart. Bite is level chin firm. Excellent built like a brick wotsit cobby body of wonderful substance and boning for his age, large fat round paws to kiss and a lovely balanced broad tail. Superb coat very well prepared indeed, not a sign of any loose or dead hairs! Short and dense with a reasonably firm texture. Lovely warm pattern on an excellent warm copper ground, some links on the sides but well spotted spine line and leg bars, facials and M and tail rings. As I went between my two winners again and again I must commend the temperament of these cats! Thank you for your patience! RES IGR CH PANTING S GR CH BERTIE OF BOCCACCIO (BSH ns 22) M Super dooper type to this lad I ve judge many times before I see. Fabulous broad head, nice apple shape with a lovely broad rounded head shape showing excellent width across the top of head between well placed ears of medium size with nice rounded tips. Very good width to cheeks and reasonable width to muzzle. Super light green eyes set well apart a short broad nose, pink leather outlined in black, untidy but perfectly acceptable bite, firm chin. Deep chest and flanks to his strong cobby body of excellent weight and balance to head, muscular and firm ably supported by short strong legs and large rounded paws. Lovely density to his coat, fairly short in length just a mite open, my defining decision today. Superb density to the black pattern on a really nice even light silver ground affording excellent contrast. Clearly defined face pencilling and M with lines over head to a good butterfly with slightly vague wings, 3 tramlines, just slight brindling either side of the centre line side lines and centre spine line is thinner than the outer lines. Good oysters, one surrounded by an incomplete ring, broad rings to tail ending in a black tip. Also considered: GR CH CINDERSCASTLE BAILEY (BSH e) Pretty boy of lovely type and excellent eye colour but head needs more rounding at the muzzle for balance and his coat is a tad woolly, nice shade of cream and sound to the roots. Feint ghosting. Untidy but acceptable bite. GR CH KING FROSTY DRAKENSTEYN. (BSH e 03) Quite a nice looking chap of a very nice size too but has considerable old dead coat and lots of scattered white hairs, needs show prep and also around his eyes I afraid. Sorry not at all up to the mark today. GR CH ALTHALUS FLOYD TEDDYCLAWZ (BSH c 33) Unfortunately needs to mature considerable for this award, blueish toned points for a lilac, immature head type for age maybe he s a slow burner. I d like his head broader and rounder with eyes set wider apart for balance. Coat is a tad long for my liking, sorry. 1
IMPERIAL CLASS AV SECTION 3 GR CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE IGR CH PANTING S GR CH RONALDO SILVER ZAVIA ( BSH ns 24) F I deliberated on this lass s award due to the sootiness of the ground especially on her legs. She has nice type, nice rounding, slight bump to nose in profile though, bite is fine, her crowing glory is the wonderful green eyes, nice and rounded and set well apart. Cobby body fairly short well boned legs, round paws, tail balanced. Fairly short coat, good density, dense black spots but the ground could be cleaner for absolute perfection on the contrast. I feel she has reached her level now, I gather she is now made up to Imperial. Congratulations. RES IMP GR CH WALSH S GR CH LOUREWZ MISS GUCCI (BSH ns 24) F Bless her in very nice condition for her age. Pretty type, good head shape and ear set, fat cheeks and I liked her head, pleasing round eyes, light green in colour fading now with age I think. Bute is fine. Cobby body of reasonable weight but he legs are graduating inwards and not straight all the way down. Short coat of nice density and texture with pattern showing linkage and brindling today. IMPERIAL CLASS- AV SECTION 5 GR PR NEUTER MALE IGR PC DRY S GR PR ROSSIKHAM BAMBOO (BUR n) MN Lovely Brown Burmese of good type, short wide blunt wedge, excellent ears for set and spacing, gorgeous yellow chartreuse eyes of typical expression and shape. Good break to nose in profile and nice rounding to brow. Untidy bite but acceptable. Firm lithe muscular body with shapely elegant legs ending in neat oval paws and has balanced tail, just a bit thick ended. Wonderful coat!!! Shiny brown conker! Short and close lying, just one or two scattered white hairs on shoulders. Excellent weight and feel to him. IMPERIAL CLASS- AV SECTION 5 GR PR NEUTER FEMALE IGR PC PHILLIPS GR PR HARLYNDON PEPPERMINT PATTI (BUR n) FN Brown Burmese. Oh my word what a wonderful wicked scowl she has! I see I ve judged her before! I love her! Superb typical Burmese type with a fabulous balanced short wide wedge that ends bluntly at the muzzle. Correct ears of good set following the line of the wedge. Good distinct break to nose in profile. Wonderful eyes, glisten and wither at you as she utters her disdainful words as she s taken out of the pen, then she sits and stares at you, I m afraid I laughed! To nit pick I d like a slightly shorter coat, but it lays nicely and is a lovely rich brown, just one or two scattered white hairs. Well built yet elegant, shapely legs and neat oval paws. Tail a lovely shape, fractionally short of balance. Love her look! RES IGR PR DAVEY S GR PR CAGARAN XOCHITL (ASM js 11 31) FN Lilac Tortie Silver shaded Asian which a surprise! Find the cream bits! I managed it and my memory banks recall a kitten very similar! Very nice Asian type, short wide blunt head with very good width between medium ears of correct set. Expressive light green, double D bra cup eyes set wide apart, short straight nose with a nice break. Firm chin. Lithe muscular body of deceptive weight, elegant legs, neat oval paws and good tail. Shortish coat, finely textured, 2
lays well. Slightly uneven shading of mostly lilac with a slight bit of cream to one paw and on her lower side, that s all I can find, so she is what it says on the tin. Lovely light even silver base. Heavier shading down the spine line. Also considered: BATES CH & GR PR ADIFTON EBRINGTON EEVEE (ASH ns 25 31) Lovely lass of nice ticking on a really good silver base, head is a Asian typical shape just a tiny pinch at the muzzle otherwise I liked her! Unlucky to meet the others. BLACK/CHOC/RED/TORTIE/CHOC TORTIE SHADED & TIPPED CAMEO PERSIAN KITTEN 1 ST (BOB NOT AWARDED) CRAIG & BELL S MUEZZA BLAZING FLAME (PER ds 11) M Red shaded Cameo. Litter brother to the kitten below and in some ways very similar. Broad head, a little uneven but good width across, between fairly small ears but held a little high. Good rounding to brow in profile. Nice full cheeks, muzzle a touch fine, fairly well rounded. His eyes are not quite as round as they should be really, however they are a stunning copper brown promising colour! Nice wide deep break to his broad nose, good fullness of leather and open nostrils. Deep firm chin. Bite was checked by the DV and we agreed it moves so isn t settled yet and is ultimately near level but can move off to the right very slightly. So, time will tell. Cobby body with nice breadth to chest and flanks, quite well boned short legs, short tail. Kitten coat of medium length and needs more density, nice frill to face and fullness of tail for age. He has a very nice light undercoat with red but very uneven, shading on his head and down his back and on the base of tail, lighter shading to face, nice silver inner furnishings and tufts to toes, some slight shading to tummy and legs. I hope the shading evens out when the coat comes in more. BLUE/LILAC/CREAM/BLUE OR LILAC CREAM SHADED & TIPPED CAMEO PERSIAN KITTEN 2 nd (1 st & BOB Not awarded) Muezza Secret Sensation (PER es 11) M Cream Shaded cameo. Broad top of head but with a noticeable bump I hope evens out as he matures, he is young yet. Fairly small ears, a little open at base, nice long silver internal furnishings. Head shows nice full cheeks and rounding to muzzle. His eyes are large and set well apart, could be rounder for perfection, quite a good depth of orange. Short nose with good leather and well-opened nostrils. Unfortunately, his bite is noticeably offset with a malocclusion to lower jaw, checked and confirmed by the Duty vet, very firm chin. Short cobby body, good weight and firm feel to him, nice boning to his legs with round firm paws showing tufts but has some discolouration on the feet and up the lower legs where he also shows some hot cream tipping on his hocks. Lovely short, full tail. His kitten coat is reasonably silky and has fair density. He has a wonderful very light undercoat with some light but very uneven tipping which looks less than the 1/3 rd required for a shaded but time will tell, and the colour appears to be rather a hot cream currently. His face is nice and light, but he has some slight staining showing to under the eyes and has heavier shading on the top of his head. 3
MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY/(INCL Bi Col) kitten 1st (BOB not awarded) LAKE S SILVALAKE TIGER PAWS (MSCO n 22) F Fair sized lass needing much more body weight and muscle tone at 7.5 months. Her head is medium in size and is slightly longer than wide, large, nicely tufted ears need to be set higher although they are wide at base the head is narrow and so they appear out of balance, also the head rather tapers to a fine rounded muzzle lacking the feel of a box, thus, needs more width and depth to be correct. Profile is good! Nice shallow concave curve at the bridge of the nose which is uniform width face on. Chin is firm. Bite is level. Lovely round eyes, slightly oblique aperture and set, good size of light green. The frame is rectangular with medium boned legs, medium sized paws showing some tufts. Tail is a good length and quite well furnished. Her coat needed more preparation, it was shorter on shoulder and lengthens down the back, slight glossy topcoat over the fairly dense undercoat. She has a slight ruff to her chest. The pattern is vague on a cold ground, lacks warmth, the markings are brownish black, the oysters are muddled and vague, some facial tracings, muddled butterfly on shoulders. Spine lines need to be separated. I do hope she comes together as she matures but she really does need more body weight. Handled really well. AOC MAINE COON (EX TABBY Kitten) 1st & BOB RICHARDSON S VESSONGS CHEROKEE (MCO as 11) F Almost an adult and a good size and weight for her age. Broad medium sized head slightly longer than wide with nicely set large tufted ears, good width between, sitting fairly tall and well furnished. Cheeks fairly full and high cheekbones, muzzle is nice and wide and square with width and depth creating the desired boxy look. Profile shows a shallow concave curve. Chin firm and bite is level. Expressive orange eyes are nicely rounded, slightly oblique aperture and set. Solid muscular rectangular body, breadth at chest, squared rump, medium length well boned legs large round tufted paws. Well furnished long tail. Lovely coat, undercoat is covered by a glossy topcoat and lengthens nicely down the back, shorter on shoulders. Clean silver base to the medium toned blue shading like a mantle on her back from her head. Generally well prepared, just needs attention to the underside. BRITISH BLUE KITTEN MALE 1 ST & BOB MURPHY S BLUEBEARS BREEZE (BSH a) M Oh! He was born on my sisters Birthday! I wrote STONKING in my book I see! Fabulous typy Britisher full of promise. Wonderful apple head shape being broad and well-rounded and in profile too, very good ears set and excellent fat chubby cheeks. Round light orange eyes set wide apart, short straight broad nose, wide level bite and firm chin. Big hefty cobby body needing a block and tackle for legs, which he has fortunately got! Excellent tree -trunks support him. Broad tail at base and nice rounded tip. Built like a tank Sound mid toned blue coat with minimal silvering at tips, mostly on the lower sides actually, slightly soft to touch but oh so dense! One to watch! BRITISH BLUE KITTEN FEMALE 1 ST ROBINSON S AIBYOUKA PRIMROSE EVERDEEN (BSH a) F Pretty faced kitten who has a fairly round head, just needing to round off at the muzzle more as she develops. 4
Medium sized ears set well apart; pleasing round orange eyes of a good size, short broad nose level bite and chin is firm. Cobby body of reasonable weight and muscularity, stands on fairly strong legs ending in round paws. Tail is lovely! Broad at base, thick and tapering to a round tip and balanced. She wears a dense coat, quite nice firm texture, pales at the roots though at the moment. 2 nd DOYLE S POPPYPAWZ MISS POLLY S DOLLY (BSH a) F Pretty eyes with nice expression to her orange eyes but her head shape needs more rounding for balance. Ears a little generous but set quite well apart. Cheeks need to develop fullness. Bite is level, chin slopes back. Slightly long and tall body wise, needs to fill out and develop more substance. Rather slender legged for a British so she should ideally have thicker boned legs. Nice round paws. Her coat could be shorter and more dense, its very soft in texture and shows banding below the ends of the fur which is a pity as her tone of blue is very nice, then below the banding she is too light at the roots, being unsound. Needs time to get herself together I feel for the show bench. SELKITK REX NEUTER CONSIDERED FOR BOB: KRASNER & THOMAS S PR QUIZZICURL SIR CARADOC (SRL n ) MN I m sorry to not award but for me this lad lacks true Selkirk type. Head is too narrow, needs more width at the cheeks, the nose is a trifle too long. His coat lacked waves today too I m afraid. HAGAB;S UK, IGR PR ACOZNI FAIRLYFLOSS (SRL g) FN I ve loved this girl and have awarded high awards to her, super type and confirmation but today she was knotted underneath and I now understand her coat had been stripped out so every effort was made, so, I do hope next time we meet she is back to her usual glorious self. DEVON REX KITTEN 1 ST & BOB RANKIN S MAYSTAREX QUEEN-OF-PRUSSIA (DRX bs 23) F Very playful kitten with a typical expression! Nice short broad wedge with large ears with muffs, very good width at the base of the ears and of quite a good set for age. High cheekbones, good muzzle & whisker break. Profile shows brow curving back to flat skull and clearly defined stop to short nose. Level bite. Lovely eye shape, large and oval correctly sloping towards outer edges of ears, lovely pixie expression. Pleasing firm and muscular body, very nice breadth at the chest, carried high on slender legs, rear legs lengthy slightly emphasised, ending in neat oval paws. Tail a good length and tapers. Her coat shows a good density and is softly textured with rexing all over her body and down the legs and tail, just slightly less on the neck but still covered. Short stubbly whiskers and eye brows. Teensy amount of guard hairs on the tail. No points for colour but what a lovely warmth to her overall colouring. 5
2 nd WILSON S NIDORAN MISSANDEI (DRX ns) F Short fairly broad wedge, lovely wide base to her large ears but need to be set a little lower and wider apart ideally. High cheekbones, quite good muzzle with acceptable whisker break, profile shows brow curving back to a flat skull but needs more definition to the stop to her short nose. Her eyes are a good size, oval in shape and slope towards the outer edges of ears slightly. Firm muscular body, carried high on slender legs ending in neat oval paws. Tail a good length and tapers. Very short coat, soft on lower sides, some rexing to thighs and tail, and lower back, some guard hairs along her back down the spine and along then top of the tail at the moment. Lovely temperament and again no points for colour but she s quite a striking black smoke colour wise. CARAMEL POINT SIAMESE. I took this class over from poor Perri Mansaray who was taken into hospital sadly. Wrong Colour: KEOGHAN S ALDERSTAR RAZAMATAZ (SIA m) M Nice balance to the long wedge with almost straight lines, slight pinch at muzzle as yet I hope straightens out as he matures, large ears nicely wide at base follow the wedge. Just a very slight rise in the profile The eyes are oriental in shape, set well apart but a teeny but deep set, good depth of blue, nice and clear and bright. Bite is level chin firm. And almost level with tip of nose. Head is carried on a long slim body feeling nice and firm to hold, long elegant legs ending in neat oval paws, hind legs clearly longer than the front. Long fine, proportionate tail just showing some feint rings. His coat is short and fine and lays close, nice healthy sheen to it. The points colour are a definite blue with no hint of brown or purple tones commensurate with a blue -based Caramel, although not quite a light blue, more of a medium tone, but not a dark brownish blue commensurate with caramel. The body is glacial white with some blue tonal shading but not brownish blue., however doesn t detract from the contrast of points to body colour. The points do match tonally. As this was my first Siamese class and I d taken over from another Judge I sought confirmation from 2 Full Judges who agreed with my view. I was most grateful to the owner/breeder coming to talk to me and it was good to hear agreement of the colour too. I look forward to seeing him again. Handled beautifully under the scrutiny. RED POINT SIAMESE KITTEN 1 ST & BOB SMOUT S KAMIK KATARINA (SIA d) F Medium to long wedge tapering to a fine muzzle, very slight pinch at muzzle, profile shows virtually straight lines but the chin slopes back a little in profile. Bite is level. Good width between large, wide based ears sit following the lines of the wedge. Her eyes are oriental in shape, set wide apart but could be a little larger, just a wee bit deep set, medium depth of blue nice and bright and alert expression. Bite is level. Her body is medium to long, slim legs ending in neat oval paws. Tail long and tapering, slight rings near the tip. Short coat that is fine in texture, nice silky feel to it. Points are a bright red, little less on legs but with some barring which is permissible, good depth of red to hocks with super warm white body colour free of shading thus maximising contrast. Lovely temperament, nice and alert. 6
APRICOT SIAMESE KITTEN 1 ST (BB NOT AWARDED) WALKER S GIAMSWAN PROINCE FIREFLY (SIA em) MN Quite a nice size and weight to this kitten but I feel is a trifle out of balance and needs deeper eye colour, my reason for not awarding Best of Breed today. The head forms a long wedge that tapers to a finer muzzle than ideal, could be wider at the cheeks for balance too. Ears are needing more width between as they do not yet sit correctly to follow the lines of the wedge and could be wider at base for perfection. Nice profile lines. Chin firm bite is level. His eyes are a fair shade of blue, just under medium so needs to be much deeper to be ideal, good oriental shape. His body is well developed, firm to feel and a good length to body, long elegant legs and neat oval paws, tail is long and tapers. His coat is fairly short, close lying and fine in texture. His points match quite well, legs a little paler, slightly uneven as yet on the points as they are developing depth of the tone of Apricot, deeper on hocks and ears, body is warm creamy white with some tonal body shading. He handled like a dream. 7
