Many thanks to Carol and Ron Pike and the show teams for inviting me to judge at the National show this year. A well run show with lots of nice cats to judge, so I had a great day. Many thanks again for the invite. Open Classes Class 227a Blue British Shorthair Kitten Male 1 st Hutchinsons Rayanshel Paddington Bear (BSH a), M 04/07/17 Lovely round head with good breadth across the top, with medium to small well set ears. Eyes are round, medium in size with the eye colour coming. The expression is reasonably open. The chin is firm and the bite is level. The muzzle is very slightly square and he has a slight whisker pinch at present. He is well grown and cobby with good breadth across the chest and rum, with good substance for his age and stage of development. The legs are short and well boned. The tail is thick, of a good length to balance, tapers very slightly at the tip and shows some shadow tail rings. The coat texture is slightly kitten soft, showing good density, but is slightly long. The coat colour is a midblue which is slightly unsound at the roots and is quite silver tipped. A nice typy boy who was shown in excellent condition and handled well. Class 227b Blue British Shorthair Kitten Female under 6 months 1 st BOB Ashton s Pawsome Lolita (BSH a), F 16/08/17 Lovely round apple head with good breadth across the top and very good breadth across a nicely rounded muzzle. Small, neat ears a tiny bit upright at the moment, but otherwise well set. Eyes are round medium in size and well set, with the eye colour coming. Very nice open expression. The chin is reasonably firm, it could be very slightly stronger for perfection. The bite is level. The body shows good substance for her age and stage of development, with reasonable cobbiness and breadth across the chest and rump. The legs are short and well boned. The tail is thick but tapers a bit at the tip. The coat texture is good, nice and short and showing some crispness and density. There is some shadow spotted patterning evident on the body at present. The coat colour is a mid- blue which is very slightly unsound at the roots and has minor silver tipping. A very well balanced girl, with nice type, a good head and expression, coat texture and length. Hence the reason for my first placing and overall BOB award. 2 nd Moir s Adjulbr Minnie The Minx (BSH a), F 05/04/17 Reasonable round contours to the head and a short profile. However, the muzzle is very strong and slightly square, somewhat emphasised by a slightly shallow chin. There is a pronounced nose break and she is somewhat heavy browed. The ears are medium in size and slightly open at the base, but otherwise well set into the contours of the head. The eyes are reasonably round of a mid-gold colour and are a little deep set and hooded. The expression is a little closed. The bite is level. However, the body shows good substance and development for her age and she is well grown, with good cobbiness and breadth across the chest and rump. The legs are short and show lovely strong boning. The tail is thick and reasonably rounded at the tip. The coat texture is very good, crisp and dense. It is reasonably short, but lies a tiny bit flat along the spine-line. The coat colour is a mid- blue, slightly unsound at the roots and has some silver tipping. I liked the body type on this girl and her coat was 1
of a good texture, however the contours of her head could be better rounded, which overall is somewhat square in appearance. She was shown in great condition and apart from a few grumbles handled reasonably well. 3 rd Stone s Tisanti Llonydd Sapphire (BSH a), F 17/06/17 Reasonable round contours to the head with good width across the muzzle, which again is very slightly square. The chin could be a bit firmer, again it is a little shallow and she could do with a bit more width and breadth to her head. The ears are medium in size slightly open at the base and set a bit upright at present. The bite is level. The eyes are reasonably round and could be a little larger, the eye colour is developing. The expression is reasonably open and alert. She is reasonably well grown, but a bit rangy and out of balance. The tail is thick, but tapers slightly. Her body could do with a bit more cobbiness and substance and her head is out of balance with her body at present. The coat texture is slightly soft and lacking in density, but reasonably short. The coat colour is a midblue, slightly unsound at the roots with some silver tipping. A sweet girl, shown in good condition, but somewhat adolescent and underdeveloped at this present time. Also considered; Mitchell s Valdosta Next Top Model (BSH a), F 16/06/17 Miscellaneous Classes Class 757 AV British Adult Not Bred by Exhibitor 1 st Krause s IGr Ch Kabenbe Pammy Tickle (BSH a), F 31/03/12 A well-developed round head, with good strength and breadth, small neat ears set well into the contours of the head. The chin is a tiny bit shallow. The bite is level. The eyes are reasonably round and well set and of a mid-gold colour. The expression is open. The tail is thick and rounded. Her body is cobby, showing good substance and breadth to the chest and rump. The coat texture is very crisp and dense and short in length. The coat colour is a mid- to dark blue, really quite unsound at the roots in places along the rump and flanks, but more sound down the spine-line and not at all silvered. There was some scurf evident in the coat along the lower part of the spine-line. A really substantial, well grown, typy girl, who I liked a lot despite some coat faults. 2 nd Mitchell and Gavin s Prince Harry Cherry Land (BSH a), M 31/12/14 A well-rounded, massive well-structured round head, with good strength and breadth across the muzzle, which is a tad square and substantial cheeks. Small well set ears.again, the chin is a little bit shallow. The bite is level. The eyes are reasonably round but small and very deep set and hooded, of a good deep gold colour. He is a little heavy browed. The tail is thick and tapers a tiny bit. The body is massive and well matured showing good cobbiness, substance, strength and breadth to the chest and rump. The coat texture is very crisp and reasonably dense and short in length. The coat colour is a mid- blue, a tiny bit unsound at the roots but quite heavily silvered. A massive substantial well matured boy with good type, shown in good condition and handled well 2
3 rd Blagdon s Gotham Imperial King (BSH a), M 20/06/16 Nice round apple shaped head, and good short profile. Small ears set well into the contours of the head. The chin slopes away a tiny bit. The bite is level. The eyes are large, round and well set, of a good mid gold colour. The expression is nice and open. Again, the tail is thick and tapers a tiny bit. The body is cobby and the chest and rump broad. His head is a little out of balance with his body at the moment and he is somewhat adolescent in appearance. The legs could be heftier and better boned for perfection. The coat texture is crisp and with very good density and reasonably short in length. The coat colour is a mid-to pale blue, quite unsound at the very roots and also quite heavily silvered. He had a lovely temperament, playful and friendly, handled very well and shown in good condition. A nice boy overall in appearance, I liked his head, but with quite a bit of maturing still to do. Also considered; Caffel s Chrishell Roosevelt (BSH o), M 22/04/16 Class 759 AV British Limit Adult Cat not handle-able Class 763 AV British Junior Adult 1 st Chilcott s Jenchelli Here s Hector (BSH c 33), M 06/02/17 Reasonably round-shaped head, with good breadth across the top. However, the nose is a little long. Medium-size, ears reasonably well set, but a little flared at the base. The chin is fairly firm. The bite is level. The eyes are round and of a pale blue colour, with some stronger blue colour to the centre around the iris. The expression is good. The tail is fairly thick and in balance to the body. The body is fairly cobby, with some breadth to the chest and rump. However he again is a bit adolescent looking at the moment and needs to fill out and mature, particularly in the body, which is a bit rangy. Again his head is a bit out of balance with his body and he is a little tall on his legs, which could be better boned. The coat texture is a bit soft and is lacking in density, is reasonably short in length but lies a bit flat. The coat body colour is a pale magnolia, with a dark bluish shade of lilac to the points. There is some minor tonal shading on the rump. There was some evidence of tarnishing on the chin. Again, I liked his overall appearance, but he is a bit out of balance and needs some time to mature. 2 nd Blagdon s Gotham Imperial King (BSH a), M 20/06/16 (see class 757 above) 3 rd Terziiski s Kolinga Sebastien (BSH a), M 06/05/16 Nice round apple shaped head, good profile. Medium size ears a bit open at the base. The chin is reasonably firm. The bite is undershot, as confirmed by the duty vet. The eyes are reasonably round and well set, of a mid-gold colour. The expression is reasonably open. The tail is thick rounded. The body is cobby and the chest and rump broad. Again, as with the other two lads in the class, his head is a little out of balance with his body at the moment and he is somewhat adolescent in appearance. 3
The legs are reasonably well boned. The coat texture is crisp and with fairly good density and length. The coat colour is a dark to mid blue, very slightly unsound at the very roots and slightly silvered. Unfortunately he is undershot, hence the third class placing. Class 769 AV British Non-Self Kitten 1 st Coleman s Abaluki Hot Stuff (BSH ny 12), M 22/03/17 Reasonably round shaped head, a little fine in the muzzle which could do with a bit more breadth, with small well set ears. The chin slopes away a little. The bite is level. The eyes are reasonably round, however they have a slightly flat topline. The colour is a nice intense green to the centre. The expression is gentle and open. The tail is very, thick, rounded and quite long. The body is a bit rangy at present and he could do with considerably more substance. Again, he is somewhat adolescent in appearance overall. The legs are reasonably well boned. The coat texture is a bit kitten soft and slightly long, but showing fairly good density. The coat ground colour is an intense rich apricot along the spine-line and somewhat paler down his flanks, but sound to the roots. The black tipping is medium to light and fairly evenly distributed. He needs time to mature and develop, however I loved the rich intensity of his coat ground colour and his deep green eye colour, hence his first placing. 2 nd Baxters Leahsblues The Duchess (BSH ns24), F 09/06/17 Nice round shaped head and short profile, with reasonable width across the top of the head between the ears, which are nice and neat and well set. The chin is firm. The bite is level. The nose leather is pale red, there is a fair bit of tarnishing across her nose and muzzle and a tiny amount on her front paws, but otherwise her coat ground colour is clear. The eyes are reasonably round; however they could be slightly larger for perfection. Eye colour is developing with a pale green rim surrounding the iris. She is very slightly heavy browed, but otherwise has a nice expression. The tail is nice and thick with a rounded tip. The body is quite cobby and with fairly good weight and substance for her age. The legs are well boned and the paws nice and round. The coat texture is a bit kitten soft, but is short and showing good density. The coat ground colour is a mid-silver showing good contrast with the black spotted pattern, which is fairly well broken, with some linkage down the flanks. I liked the head and type on this girl and her coat texture was pretty good. X2 nd Townsend s Makrissnic Superman (BSH a 03), M 23/04/17 I had to do a double take when I encountered this lad as he is so large and well grown I thought he must be an adult. A really well grown lad, with nice, strong well boned legs. Good strong cobby body, broad across the chest and rump. He is a tiny bit tall on his legs at the moment, but otherwise very well grown and developed for his age and stage of development. The head is round, with strong rounded whisker pads. The ears are medium to small in size at present, set a bit upright and a little bit open at the base. The eyes are fairly rounded, but a bit obliquely set. He is very slightly heavy browed. The chin is reasonably firm. The eye colour is developing, showing a very slight green rim at present. His coat colour is showing one third white to colour, with and inverted V to the face. The coat colour is a mid to dark blue which is slightly unsound at the roots and shows very light silver tipping. The coat texture is a little kitten soft at the moment, but reasonably short and dense. I liked his overall type a lot, however his eyes could be a bit rounded and better set for perfection. 4
3 rd Gavin s Adjulbr Miss Moon (BSH g 03), F 30/04/17 Nice round head and short profile, but could do with a bit more width across the top of the head and the muzzle is a tiny bit square. The ears are small but set a bit upright at present. The chin is firm. The bite is level. The eyes are round and well set with mid gold eye colour. The expression is nice and open. The tail is thick, but tapers a bit. The body is quite cobby and with fairly good weight and substance, but I would have expected her to be a bit better grown. The legs are well boned and the paws nice and round. The coat texture is a bit kitten soft, but is reasonably short and dense. The coat is demonstrating approximately one third white to colour, however the patching could be better defined and is a bit intermingled. The coat colour is mid to dark shades of blue and cream, which could be paler for perfection but is fairly sound and un-silvered. Overall I liked her type and expression, however she is a little small for her age and stage of development and her coat colour patching is a bit muddled. X3 rd Tigatails Enchantress (BSH ns 22), F 14/05/17 The head contours are somewhat round, but she is a bit long in the nose and the chin slopes away a bit. The ears are medium sized and a bit flared at present. The bite is level. The nose leather is pale red. The eyes are fairly round and well set and have a green rim developing. The expression is fairly open. The tail is reasonably thick, but tapering and showing good tails rings, two of which are near complete. She is quite a good size overall, but a bit tall on her legs and rangy at the moment. Her legs are quite well boned and the paws round. The coat texture is a bit kitten soft and silky in texture is a bit long and lacking density. The coat ground colour is a mid to pale silver, with no tarnishing and shows good contract with the black classic tabby pattern, all components of which are well formed and present. She has good facial lines, one complete necklace spotty toes, and complete oysters. The butterfly could be better formed and shows some silver brindling. A nice girl, but very rangy and adolescent at the moment and her coat lacks density. Also considered; Chilcott s Laikenslove Itstartedwitha kiss (BSH b 33), M 16/08/17 Class 776 AV British Maiden Kitten 1 st Ashton s Pawsome Lolita (BSH a), F 16/08/17 (see class 227b above) 2 nd Baxter s Leahsblues Temptation (BSH b 33), F 10/07/17 The head contours are nice and round and she has good width across the top of the head, with a very short profile. The chin is firm. The ears are small, neat and well set. The bite is very slightly under, but touching. The eyes are nicely rounded but could be a bit bigger. She is quite heavy browed and the expression is a bit closed. There is a slight tabby pattern M on her forehead. The tail is reasonably thick, but tapers a bit. She is quite well grown and showing fairly good substance and cobbiness in the body. The coat texture is a bit kitten soft, with some resilient feel to it on the flanks. It s a tiny bit long, lacks density and lies a bit flat over the rump. The body coat colour is a pale unshaded magnolia, showing good contrast to the mid-chocolate colour of her points, which are balanced, with some warmth and depth to the colour. A pretty girl, shown in good condition and handled well. 5
3 rd Tolhurst s Adjulbr White Gold (BSH e 33), M 01/05/17 The head contours are fairly round, however the nose is a bit long. The chin is firm. The ears are medium sized and very flared at the base. The bite is level. The eyes are round and well set, of a pale blue colour with darker blue at the centre. The expression is nice and open. The tail is reasonably thick, but tapers a bit. He is quite well grown and has good strength and substance to the body, which is fairly cobby with well boned legs. He is a tiny bit tall on his legs at present. The coat texture is soft, a bit lacking in density, but quite short. The body coat colour is a pale magnolia with some tonal shading, showing good contrast to the points, However they are a very hot shade of cream. He showed quite nice type and handled well, but his points colour is a very hot shade of cream indeed and should be considerably paler in tone. Class 779 AV British Aristocrat Neuter 1 st Proctor s Mibelomo Gemini Twice Asnice (BSH g), FN 11/07/16 The head is fairly well formed, but a bit flat on top, the nose is a bit long and the muzzle square. The cheeks could be a bit fuller. The chin is a bit shallow and slopes away a bit. The ears and medium to small and set a bit upright. The eyes are fairly round and well-shaped and of a nice mid gold colour. The expression is open. The tail is thick and rounded. The body shows some weight and substance. The coat texture is fairly short, dens and crisp. The coat colour is a darker shade of blue which is somewhat unsound, but un-silvered with shades of darker and light cream, which are fairly well mingled over the body but showing some clearly defined patches of cream on the head. A sweet natured girl, shown in nice condition and handled well. 6
