KENTISH CAT SOCIETY SHOW REPORT FROM ALISON LYALL Many thanks for the invitation to judge and also to my splendid steward Steven Bunce who was, as always, immaculate in all respects. IMPERIAL CLASS 2 AV SECTION 2 GRAND CHAMPION ADULT MALE. IMP.BIKULCIUTE S GC KORNEY AREA LOVE (IMP) SIB n M A blue eyed seal pointed and white bi-colour male showing excellent skull structure with ears well spaced and set, broad low cheeks and a strong rounded muzzle with a level bite and firm curving chin line. The large bright eyes are oval and wide set with a sweet expression indicative of his gentle temperament and the medium nose is of uniform width with a slight concave curve at the bridge and a clear profile line. The torso is rectangular, heavily built and hefty, limbs are thickly boned with very large tufted paws and the bushy tail just about balances the body length. The thick coat was well presented with a dense, fine slightly springy undercoat, ruff and breeches and some firmer top coat could be felt along the spine and over the shoulders. IMPERIAL CLASS 2 AV SECTION 2 GRAND CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE. IMP.RYAN S GC LADYDOLL SARAGGS MELODIE RAG n 03 F An immaculate mature seal bi-colour female Ragdoll of lovely Ragdoll type. Beautiful head with a wide flat plane separating the ears and gentle curving contours to the well developed cheeks and a rounded muzzle, level bite and firm chin. The medium ears have a slight forward tilt with extravagant curling furnishings and the large deep blue eyes are ideally shaped and wide set with a slight oblique aperture. The medium length nose has a gentle dip at the bridge and a retrousse profile. The long body was most substantial, legs were strongly boned with large tufted paws and the tail was long although not quite as bushy as the ideal. The pale coat was soft and dense with a generous frontal ruff and knickerbockers and perfectly prepared, the inverted V head marking was balanced and the markings conformed to the standard. A really beautiful cat with a delightful relaxed temperament. RES IMP. DEANE S GC COONFLAKES TINTAGEL MCO f 03 F A young tortie and white Maine Coon who was very well developed for her age and whom I later chose as my Overall Best SLH exhibit. Her head is very well structured although currently dominated by extremely large ears which are wide at the base, held erect and with long tufts to the tips and generous furnishings. The cheek bones are high and broad and the muzzle is square with a
level bite and a good deep broad chin filling the base of the square. Large round yellow eyes are wide and slightly obliquely set with a very sweet and alert expression and the nose has a concave curve to the bridge and a clear profile line with a perpendicular drop from the nose tip to the base of the chin. The long body was substantial, limbs were long and strongly boned with large tufted paws and her long tail was bushy. The coat was shining and beautifully presented with the firmer top developing, the tortie pattern was well mingled and the white immaculate. She had a fabulous temperament and never stopped purring. GRAND CLASS 2c AC MAINE COON OR SIBERIAN CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE. GCC.GILLMAN S CH EMPURRER BUTTERFLY KISSES MCO f F A tortie tabby and white Maine Coon female who was sweet natured and feminine. The large ears were tufted at the tips and furnished, wide at the base and an ear s breadth apart and supported by broad high cheek bones. The muzzle was a slightly narrow square with a level bite but the narrowness was accentuated by a deep narrow chin. The large greenish yellow eyes were round with a slight oblique aperture and set wide and the nose has a beautiful clear profile line with a slight concave curve at the bridge. The body is rectangular, well muscled and of good heft, long legs are very well boned with large paws having tufts between the toes and the tail was long and well furnished. She was well presented with a glossy coat showing a firm top and softer undercoat, with a frontal ruff falling from behind the ears and fluffy breeches. GRAND CLASS 2a AC BIRMAN, RAGDOLL OR RAGAMUFFIN PREMIER NEUTER FEMALE. 1 ST (GPC N/A) SIMMONDS GC & PR GAYEMAUDI MARIA SBI n FN A sweet purring seal point Birman. She had a strong rounded skull with full round cheeks which tapered to a well developed muzzle with a level bite and a firm chin. Medium sized ears were widely spaced and the eyes were almost round and sweetly expressive although the colour had faded to a rather greenish blue. Medium length nose with a quite a defined dip at the bridge. She had excellent substance with a strong long body, well boned limbs and a good length of bushy tail. Her gloves were symmetrically scalloped, the broad long gauntlets were evenly matched and her pale creamy coat was long and silken in texture although poorly presented with knots, tats and bare patches visible and chalk on the paws. However, my main reason for with holding the award was the large patch of white on the underbody between the front legs. GRAND CLASS 2b AC NORWEGIAN FOREST, SOMALI OR TURKISH VAN PREMIER NEUTER MALE. GPC.COMER S PR ZEALANDONII BANOFFEE-PIE NFO as MN It was good to meet this sweet blue smoke Norwegian Forest lad again
and, as I discovered later, to make him up to Grand Premier - he has the most adorable temperament and really enjoys his days out. His head forms a strong equilateral triangle with large well placed ears extending the lateral lines, a long nose with good lateral definition and an almost straight profile, a level bite and a firm chin. His green eyes have a loving interested expression and are well opened and obliquely set. He has a very strong long and muscular torso of good heft, long thickly boned limbs with large tufted paws and a long tail which was rather sparsely furnished today. Although not in full coat today, he does have a lovely firm top coat, exceptional for a blue, and a woolly undercoat, some shirtfront and knickerbockers. GRAND CLASS 2b AC NORWEGIAN FOREST, SOMALI OR TURKISH VAN PREMIER NEUTER FEMALE. GPC.McLEOD & McLEOD-SALE S CH & PR TANSDALE CANDY FLOSS TUV d 62 FN An adorable auburn Turkish Van female who was well presented and easy to handle although happier in her pen where she made puddings all the time we judged her. Lovely strong broad wedge shaped head with ears well feathered, pink lined and set high. The light amber eyes were large and oval with a sweet expression and the medium length nose was almost straight with a very slight dip at the bridge and pink nose leather. Level bite and firm chin. Strong hefty body of good length, well boned medium limbs with neat round tufted paws and a balanced length of full brush ringed with dark auburn on a paler ground colour. Long chalk white coat with frontal ruff and very nicely balanced auburn butterfly markings on the head separated by a white blaze. A beautiful cat. SEAL BIRMAN ADULT. CC & BOB. PIKE S PENDLESTAR CAROONA S CHASER SBI n F A rather edgy young cat, looking very adolescent today. The skull is rounded with breadth between the medium sized, well set ears, full cheeks and a muzzle that appears a little shallow and needs to develop more breadth. The bite is level and the chin is sloping. The eyes are almost round and two tone in colour, deep sapphire blue centrally and a little paler on the surround and the medium length nose has a slight dip at the bridge and a bump on the profile. She has a good solid feel to her with length to the body, well boned limbs with strong paws and a balanced length of bushy tail. Her white gloves are symmetrical, almost full and scalloped, socks are level and the matching gauntlets taper to a level point two thirds of the distance to the hocks. The developing pale coat is well presented but still feels a little firm along the spine. 2 ND.TANNOCK S KAMYAB AISHA SBI n F Of similar age to the previous cat and of lovely Birman type, looking as if butter wouldn t melt in her mouth but a real monkey, and sadly she has a large patch of white between the rear legs. Strong broad rounded head with full cheeks tapering to a well
developed muzzle with a level bite and a firm chin. Beautiful eyes, almost round and of a startling intense sapphire blue and a medium length nose with a slight dip at the bridge and a bump on the profile. Excellent substance to the long body, thickly boned limbs and bushy tail to balance. The coat is developing length and is well presented with a lovely silken texture and a ruff to frame the head. The white gloves slope symmetrically, the socks are even and the gauntlets well matched. Such a shame about the white patch. TABBY OR TORTIE TABBY POINT BIRMAN ADULT. BOB.TANNOCK S CH KAMYAB AZURE SBI a 21 F A blue tabby point girl of lovely type and excellent substance. She has beautiful head conformation with full round cheeks and a well developed muzzle, level bite and firm chin. The eyes are exquisite, brilliant sapphire blue in colour and almost round with a loving expression and the medium length nose has a Roman profile. Long hefty body, well boned limbs and a bushy tail of balanced length, barred underneath. Soft silken coat with ruff to frame the head and very well defined tabby markings on the mask and front legs. White gloves are symmetrically low and scalloped and the gauntlets extend two thirds of the way to the hocks with the right being a little narrower than the left. A beautiful cat, well presented and with a delightful temperament who made puddings all the time we handled her. NORWEGIAN FOREST ADULT. CC & BOB.COMER S ZEALANDONII MINNIE THE MINX NFO f 22 F An elegant and feminine tortie tabby Norwegian Forest girl who was playful and interactive and just coming into call. She had a triangular head shape which was extended laterally by her large ears and her green eyes were well opened and obliquely set. Her long elegant nose had a perfectly straight profile and the bite was level and chin firm.typically adolescent and all length, with a long muscular torso, long strong limbs with large tufted paws and a very long bushy tail. The developing coat was of excellent quality with a firm glossy waterproof top and some woolly undercoat, shirtfront and knickerbockers. A most promising young cat. MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY (INC BI-COLOUR) ADULT. CC & BOB.YOUNG S JULESCOON WINTER ROSE MCO n F A large and rather shy brown classic tabby and white girl who was inevitably still looking unbalanced and adolescent. Her head was dominated by her very large ears which were wide at the base and slightly low set with very long tufts to the tips. The cheek bones were high and fairly wide, eyes were large and round with an oblique aperture and her very broad nose showed a slight concave curve at the bridge and a bump on the profile. The muzzle was square, the bite level and the chin firm. The body was long and muscular, legs
were strongly boned with large tufted paws and the tail was long and bushy. The coat was rather shaggy with some frontal ruff and showing a clear classic tabby pattern over a warm brown agouti base. AOC SOMALI KITTEN. 1 ST & BOB.VAN WAMEL & FRANCIS VANREGEL S WISPA SOL b F A most attractive young chocolate long haired Somali who was elegant and well grown for her age. Her head was a moderate wedge shape with large well furnished ears which were well set to show the crescent rear profile and with tiny tufts to the tips. Her large hazel eyes were sweety expressive, almond shaped and obliquely set and her medium length nose showed a minimal nose break. A slight indent formed the muzzle which had a level bite, firm chin and gave the impression of a smile. Her body was lithe and elegant with a level back, limbs were slim and well boned with neat oval tufted paws and the brush of tail was rather short for perfect balance. The coat had a bright apricot base and was soft in texture and well ticked with dark chocolate. The chocolate facial markings were well defined and the heels were fully marked in chocolate to the hocks. A sweet lass with a lovely temperament. MAINE COON SILVER TABBY SERIES KITTEN. 1 ST & BOB.HARE S KASSARO MAVIS MCO gs 23 F A blue tortie silver mackerel tabby who was very much a work in progress with minimal cream in evidence and minimal mackerel pattern discernable.the ears were large and wide at the base, tufted and furnished, cheek bones were high but narrow and the muzzle needed more development. Bite level and chin firm. Her beautiful deep orange eyes were large and round with a slight oblique aperture and contrasted well with the silver and there was a slight concave curve at the bridge of the nose. The body was very long and lean, boning was strong and paws large and tufted and the tail was very long and sparsely furnished. She was a sweet kitten but at a very awkward stage of development so I gave her the benefit of the doubt as she needs time. NORWEGIAN FOREST NEUTER. BOB. COMER S PR ZEALANDONII BANOFFEE-PIE NFO as MN AOC SOMALI NEUTER. PC & BOB.VAN WAMEL & FRANCIS VAN REGEL S MOUSSE SOL b FN A lovely interactive mature chocolate Somali long hair female who was solid yet retained her essential elegance. She has lovely head conformation with breadth between the ears and gentle curving contours to the moderate wedge shaped head, a slight indent forming the muzzle with a level bite, firm chin and a smiling expression. The large ears are well set and furnished although she does tend to hold them slightly erect when communicating and her large
green eyes are almond shaped and obliquely set. There is a slight nose break and a very small bump on the profile. She is lithe and elegant with a muscular torso of foreign type, long slim limbs with neat oval paws and a brush of tail to balance. Her coat is soft and lies flat along the spine with some frontal ruff and there is generous dark chocolate ticking over a bright apricot base. Facial pencilling is clearly marked and the heels are chocolate to the hocks and topped with apricot breeches. Fabulous affectionate temperament. AC TURKISH VAN OR TURKISH VANKEDISI NEUTER.
