(WSDA) MINIMUM BIDS: There will be a minimum bid of $300 for registered stud rams, yearling rams, and ewes with lambs; $250 for registered yearling ewes and ram and ewe lambs, $200 for non-registered ewes. ON-LINE BIDDING: You will be able to bid on line and watch the sale through our webcast. MAIL & PHONE BIDS: If you are unable to attend the sale in person, a number of individuals will be able to handle our bids. These include: Sale Manager, Jane Patton ( ) Lee Petty (prior to sale day ); (sale day ), or the consignor(s) of your choice. All mail and phone bids must be pre-approved by the Sale Manager prior to the sale. It may be possible to arrange transportation if we are notified in advance of your plans. TERMS: Cash, check or credit card. The auctioneer s decision is final on any disputed bids. All animals are at the purchaser s risk as soon as sold. Sheep purchased on order must be paid for by the individual doing the bidding or handling the order. All mail and phone bids must be paid in full within 5 days of the sale. Mail bids not paid in full within this time frame will have an additional 10% handling fee added. A 25% surcharge will be assessed to any insufficient funds check issued. Institutions may pay by requisition. Credit card payment will be accepted with prior approval by sale management. A 3% surcharge will be added to the total purchase price for payments with credit card. REGISTRATION: All animals, except those sold as unregistered or commercial, are registered. All Buyer Numbers must be in the name of the person that the animal is to be transferred to. Registration papers will be given to the buyer upon payment for animals purchased. HEALTH: Buyers from states requiring special health permits should contact their state veterinarian and have their permit number with them. It is recommended that prospective buyers contact their state animal health department for further information or regulation changes prior to attending the sale. All sheep sold must be in compliance with Federal scrapie regulations. A veterinarian will be on the grounds to issue outof-state health papers. GENERAL INFORMATION NOTICE: The Western States Dorper Association, Sale Manager, and the consignors of this sale do not assume any risk, or liability in case of any accidents of any kind or losses of any kind to any person or persons in attendance at the sale. SALE GUARANTEE Except for those stated in the below guarantee, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for the particular purpose with respect to the sheep being sold in this sale. The warranties and guarantees set forth in the guarantee below are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any other party claiming through the buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all obligations or liabilities. 1. Every ram or ewe sold will be guaranteed as a breeder if properly handled. It shall be the responsibility of the buyer to return the non-breeder to the seller in acceptable breeding condition. The seller, after a fair trial, and the animal is found to be a non-breeder, shall have the privilege of replacing the ram or ewe with one of equal value to the satisfaction of the seller, or refunding the purchase price. This guarantee shall not apply the first year to any sheep that are shown subsequent to the date of the sale. All ewe lambs are exempt from the breeding guarantee the first year. 2. This guarantee shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller only, and no other parties assume any liability, legal or otherwise, expressed or implied. 3. The WSDA cannot or will not assume any responsibility as to the authenticity of the pedigrees, bloodlines, or information provided in the sale catalog, pen cards, or otherwise, and the subsequent genetic performance of any sheep purchased. All such information must be accepted at face value. Any statements or information given sale day supersedes cataloged information. Any special guarantees or claims offered by individual consignors is strictly between the consignor and the buyer, and will not be enforced by the sponsoring organization. 5 CHARLTON FARMS NW David Charlton & Violet Elder NE Quarry Road, Newberg, OR (503) Charlton Farms NW is a small acreage about 25 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon where we have lived for over 30 years and have been raising Dorpers since We really enjoy the breed and sell most of our lambs directly to customers who appreciate the superb taste. We have found that our customers are the best marketing tool and usually have our lambs spoken for as they are born. We breed for conformation and rapid growth although are mindful of the other standards that make the Dorper such an outstanding breed. We have an ongoing interest in developing our flock and we are proud of our progress. My granddaughter Violet is also active raising Dorpers and shows at the fair through 4-H yearly and is now working to develop the Youth program with the WSDA. She is also active in FFA and 4-H as well as the swim team, getting good grades and learning to drive. Since our yearling ram took 3rd place in last year s WSDA show/sale we have been watching our lambs closely and have selected three that we believe will be competitive for this year s show and sale. 6 FREILANCE DORPERS Philip & Sharon Freilich 5010 Chelsea Drive, Martinez, CA (925) Phil and Sharon Freilich have been involved with Dorper sheep for nearly 4 years. During that time we have purchased premium quality ewes from many of the established Dorper flocks from the Hill Country of Texas and quality flocks in the Western States. We are striving to continually improve the quality of our ewes in our breeding program. Our flock is located in Briones, California on 65 acres of hilly coastal grasslands nestled in a small valley between Lafayette and Martinez. We currently have 18 Dorper ewes between the ages of 1 and 3. We have one ram, Holman 4219, aka Sparkplug that we purchased in April, 2014, at the Mid-Amercia Dorper Show in Duncan, OK. On the day, Sparkplug was the highest auctioned ram in an entry of over 300 Dorper/White Dorper sheep auctioned. Our welcome mat is always out for visitors. Please call ahead and let us know when you would like to stop by. Freitas Dorpers are raised on our 80 plus year old family ranch located near Gustine, CA. The ranch has sold grass fed cross bred lambs to the public since In 2005 the ranch focused on Dorper cross lambs, having developed an outstanding herd of purebred Dorpers over the past 4 years. Rd. 27, Orland, CA (530) / (530) wespatton@glennlandfarm.com - Glenn Land Dorpers began in 2000 with a few White Dorper x St. Croix ewes and expanded to a flock of 400 Purebred White Dorper ewes whose offspring have found numerous markets throughout the country. As a result of elevating irrigation water cost and reduction in acreage devoted to livestock, we have reduced our breeding ewe flock to 150 head and kept the very best. Consequently we will continue to bring high quality White Dorpers and Dorpers to the venues we have been attending in recent years. The market lambs finish on irrigated pasture and are purchased for farmer s markets, upscale restaurants and ethnic consumers. The breeding ewes and rams are sold at the ranch, at the Mid-America Sale in Oklahoma, at the Western States Dorper Sale in California. Many of the sheep sold at the ranch are purchased by buyers in the Midwest and even the East Coast. We strive to produce sheep that work hard, so you don t have to. In addition to the White Dorper flock, we have recently started a small flock of Dorpers in order to satisfy the needs of more of the prospective buyers that contact us. Here, fifteen years ago the tradition of production sheep on the ranch was resurrected after nearly a century. Today an artisan flock of Fullblood Dorper sheep reside in the mountain meadow and nap in the shade of the tall pines. These Fullblood Dorper sheep are bred for correct body type and good, calm attitudes. Besides the sales breeding stock, we also offer locker lamb and lamb skins. We are located in Northern California in Fairfield along Interstate 80, 60 miles east of San Francisco and 60 miles west of Sacramento. We are very excited about our White Dorpers. They are very adaptable and thrive on eating many varieties of different vegetation. They are hardy, muscular in size and very attuned to people and easy to work with. The fast growth rate is huge. Our ranch consists of acres of cross fenced lush irrigated pasture. We strive to keep the quality of our breed at the highest level to maintain customer confidence and demand. Our flock is marketed for meat, breeding and show stock.
