There will be a verbal roll call, if you are NOT PRESENT before the conclusion of roll call, you will be considered ABSENT AT ROLL CALL! Entry Fee will not be refunded. Entries will not be acknowledged by mail. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Azawakhs, Basenjis, Borzoi, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughis, and Whippets may be entered in the regular stakes. Limited and provisional stake breeds. These are listed in each issue of the Field Advisory News. All entries shall be individually registered with the AKC, NGA, the FCI an ASFA-recognized foreign registry or ASFA board approved registry, or possess a Critique Registration Number from the Society for the Perpetuation of the Desert-Bred Saluki. Limited and/or Provisional Stake entries shall be individually registered with the appropriate registry. Currently, Chart Polski, Cirneco dell Etna, Galgo Espanol, Magyar Agar, Peruvian Inca Orchid and Portuguese Podengo are eligible for limited entry. Open: STAKES OFFERED Any eligible sighthound that has met certification requirements, excluding ASFA Field Champions of record. Field Champion: Any ASFA Field Champion. Veteran: Singles: Limited: Any eligible sighthound that has met certification requirements whose age is at least six years, except Irish Wolfhounds whose age shall be at least five years, Rhodesian Ridgebacks (as of 01/01/08) and Whippets whose age shall be at least seven years. Any eligible sighthound, including those disqualified to run in other stakes. Not eligible for Best of Breed. Any eligible sighthound of a Limited or Provisional stake breed that has met certification requirements. Not eligible for Best of Breed. Best in Field will not be offered either day. Hound certification runs will be offered on both days, practices will be on Saturday only. All entries must be one year of age or older on the day of the trial. Stakes will be split if 20 or more hounds of the same breed are present, in any one stake, after inspection at the time of the draw. All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible, or braces, unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Money will only be refunded for Bitches in season, lame hounds, or hounds with breed disqualifications. Each hound will be inspected for lameness, breed disqualifications, and bitches in season. Monorchid, spayed and neutered hounds may be entered. Hounds not present at time of roll call will be scratched. Muzzles are not required, but it is the responsibility of the owner to determine if the hound should be muzzled. Dogs may not be tied or staked out. There will be a $5 penalty fee for any hound loose on the field, other than those running the course in progress. Lure coursing blankets may be provided by the club. A battery powered continuous loop machine will be used. Backup equipment is available. The Lure will consist of white plastic bags. The course will be reversed for finals. There is available water, shade & restroom facilities at the site. HCA reserves the right to alter the course plans due to weather and/or field conditions. Incomplete, unsigned, conditional, or late entries WILL NOT be accepted. **THERE WILL BE A $25 RETURN CHECK CHARGE**

3 ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZEN SIGHTHOUNDS Do you remember when... you tore up the field with style, grace, and vigor?? Back when these pups were nothing more than a glimmer in their sire s eyes... But now your ol legs just can t keep up with your heart... HCA has just the thing for you.. better than viagra... Come out on Saturday and strut your stuff. Show them youngin s how to do it right. Breakfast and Lunch will be available at a minimum cost, pop and water will also be available for purchase. There will be a Judges Dinner SATURDAY Night - Details at the trial. Don t forget, we will have HCA T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Ball Caps, and Lapel Pins for sale. Practices and Certification Runs will be run after the trial on Saturday, only Certification Runs will be run on Sunday. For Emergency Vet Service, Trial Committee will have phone number and directions at the FTS Tent. HCA is having their annual Mary Ruud Memorial Veterans Run. (Non-ASFA Event) Any veteran may enter, who is not already entered in Saturday s Trial. Each vet will run the course once and alone. Each vet will receive a Senior citizen discount, 1 point will be added to their score for every year over the vet age. ALL Best of Breed Winners from Saturday, Sunday and Monday can compete, and you don t have to be entered in all three days just be a BOB! DIRECTIONS TO THE FIELD From the Kansas City Area I-35 to I-43 West to Highway 10 to Lawrence. Hwy 10 will become 23 rd Street on the East side of Lawrence. Stay on this through Lawrence. 23 rd Street will become Clinton Parkway on the West side of Lawrence. Stay on Clinton Parkway until it dead-ends. Turn Right. Stay on this road to Clinton State Park entrance 2 nd left. Turn left into the park, it is before the RV Storage. For I-70 Drivers Take I-70 (East from Topeka, West from Kansas City), exit a Lecompton, turn South, this is Highway 10. Take this to the Clinton Parkway Exit, at the stop sign, turn right. At the next stop sign, turn right again, then take your 2 nd left into Clinton State Park. In the Park Once in the park, go through the Permit Station, have your $$$ ready, (you only need a 2 day pass, as they are good til 2 pm the following day). Then take the 2 nd left past the station. There will be a sign for Picnic Areas and Shelter Houses, Turn left and follow the road til you see us. This is a state park, they require permits. If you have a permit from any other state park, you might be able to get a discount be sure to check!! Awesome prize for the one who catches the bunny!! It is the responsibility of the owner(s) to determine if the hound needs to be muzzled. Shade and water will not be available for the hounds. Please bring your own. There will be a $5.00 fine for any hound loose on the field, other than those running the course in progress. There will be a $25.00 fee for returned checks. Everyone must clean up after his or her dogs. EQUIPMENT AND COURSE PLAN 1. The lure machine is a battery powered, continuous loop machine. Backup equipment will be available. The lure will be white plastic strips. 2. The field consists of gently rolling terrain. 3. The NCA reserves the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions on the day of the trial. In this event, a new course plan will be posted. 4.
