1 CONDITIONS OFFICIAL PREMIUM LIST Stakes will be split if the breed entry is 24 or more hounds at the time of Roll Call. Hounds will run twice, in braces or trios (except single dog entries) unless dismissed, excused or declared ineligible. Bitches in season and lame hounds will be excused and their entry fee refunded, provided notice is given prior to or during roll call. Hounds not present at roll call shall be scratched with no refund of entry. No Exceptions. All handlers must use a slip lead when releasing their hounds. A STANDING START will be used on Tally-ho. Muzzles and catch collars may be used at the handlers discretion. Leg wrappings must be a NEUTRAL colour to comply with CKC rules. Flexi-leads or shock collars are not allowed on the field. There will be a $10 fine for dogs found loose on the coursing field after roll call and until completion of Best in Field. A Catalogue will not be printed. Score sheets will be available on request. Bring your own water and shade. Overnight camping is allowed on the field. Limited Facilitiesport-a-potty provided. Please pick up all litter-garbage containers will be provided. A limited Canteen will be available at the field Directions to the field: GPS Location N W From Regina: Head East out of Regina on Hwy #1 to the Hwy #10 overpass (to Yorkton) take Hwy #10 to past Balcarres for 3 miles. We are located on the south side of the Hwy. Travel Time for Regina about 50 minutes. Signs will be posted just outside the yard and there is a small white Tovaritch Kennel sign at the end of the driveway. From Manitoba: West on Hwy #1 to the Hwy 47 intersection. Right (North) on Hwy 47 to Melville. Left (West) on Hwy #10 towards Ft Qu Appelle. The field will be on your left as you approach Balcarres approx 4 km past the Abernathy turn off. Signs will be posted. If further directions are needed, contact the Field Trial Secretary. ATTENTION It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteers or any participant at the event held under these rules is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Field Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on the receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.. 4 STAKES OFFERED OPEN: For all hounds one year and older, including Field Champions MIXED: Combines breeds with entries of three or less on agreement of all owners. BEST IN FIELD: Open to all Breed winners each day, conditions permitting. Unofficial Stakes: SINGLES STAKE (Sat & Sun): For dogs 12 months or older** roll call is same as for Open. Hounds will be run twice on the regular course and scored individually. Hounds entered in this stake may not be entered in Open. This stake is open to dogs who have been disqualified or who are not ready for certification. PUPPY STAKE (Sat &Sun.): For puppies 6-18 months of age. Puppies will be run once and scored individually. Puppies entered in this stake may not be entered in Open. VETERAN STAKE (Sat &Sun.): For dogs over the age of 7 years on the Trial Date. Dogs will be run once and run individually. Dogs entered in this stake may not be entered in Open. PRIZE LIST Rosettes and prizes are offered for Best of Breed, Best in Field, Best in Puppy Stake, Best in Singles Stake and Best in Veteran Stake. Prizes are sponsored by Tovaritch Borzoi. Rosettes are offered for First Place through NBQ. A Prize and Ribbon will be given for the Highest Scoring dog each day in the unofficial stakes of Singles, Puppy or Veteran. The Leah Harrington Memorial Trophy donated by Russel Metals Inc will go to the hound with the High Overall Aggregate Score for the weekend. Trophy remains in the possession of the SSA. A prize is offered to High Scoring First Time Runner on Saturday donated by Robbie Pattison. A Rosette is offered on Saturday for each of the following: A KENNEL STAKE, which is open to any two designated hounds entered in the regular stakes owned and kenneled by the same person. A BREEDERS STAKE, which is open to any two designated hounds entered in the regular stakes bred by the same person. A CLUB STAKE, which is open to any Club running two or more hounds, and is calculated on the top two hounds. Clubs should indicate membership of individual runners to the Secretary. (For the above three prizes, the total of scores earned in the regular stake shall determine the winner. NOTE: CKC requires a listing fee for all hounds not individually registered with the CKC. A title will not be conferred on a hound until it is individually registered with the CKC. NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT ENTRY FEE. Tendering an NSF cheque is considered non-payment and is an offense under CKC rules. Duplicate entries and over-payment of fees will NOT be refunded. Withdrawal of entry prior to closing may be made by phone. Entry fees will not be refunded after close of entries unless a bitch comes into season after the closing of entries, or a hound is found to be lame at roll call, provided notification is given to the Trial Secretary prior to or during roll call. FIRST TIME ENTERED HOUNDS Effective July 1, 1998, hounds entering their first trial in Canada must be tested with another hound, NOT a kennel mate, and certified running clean by a licensed judge. The CKC Hound Certification Form (included with this premium list) must be completed and SUBMITTED with the entry at the hound s first trial. Hounds with the following titles are exempt: ASFA FCH, LCM, AKC F CH, SC, DC, but are still required to submit the Hound Certification Form with their name and titles circled. Attention all Foreign Exhibitors! All dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). This ERN does not register a dog with the CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables foreign-born and foreign-owned dogs to be awarded titles by the CKC. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN mail or Fax a copy of the dog s registration certificate with payment in the amount of $58.65 Canadian funds, payable to the CKC. This ERN must be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event to avoid cancellation of Awards. Waiver of Requirement: This requirement will be waived for a hound that has earned a lure coursing title from another recognized organization if such title required competition, and if a waiver for such title has been approved by the Canadian Kennel Club. If your hound qualifies for a waiver, complete the top half of this form and attach it to your entry form. All hounds must be a minimum of 11 months of age prior to being certified. All hounds must run a normal course of 600 yards in order to be certified.
