ROLL CALL AND INSPECTION: Friday and Saturday Junior Courser Test - 10 AM 12 PM Trial 12 noon QC Test 4 pm ELIGIBILITY Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Azawakh, Basenjis, Borzoi, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Portugese Podengo, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughi, Thai Ridgebacks and Whippets that are one year of age or older may be entered. All entries must be individually registered with the AKC, or an AKC recognized foreign registry, or has an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) from the AKC. STAKES OFFERED Open: Open to all eligible hounds that have attained at least one of the following: 1. AKC QC, 2. AKC or ASFA FCh (copy of title certificate must be submitted with first entry). AKC Field Champion of Record may NOT be entered in Open. FC points will be awarded. Open Veteran: Open to any hound that is qualified to enter AKC Lure Trials. In addition, the hound must be at least 6 years of age on the day of the trial, except Whippets who must be at least 7 years of age and Irish Wolfhounds that must be 5 years of age. FC or LCM points will be awarded. Specials Stake: Open to All AKC Field Champions. LCM points will be awarded. 3 Friday 670 yards S/F COURSE PLANS Saturday 730 yards LCLC reserves the right to alter course plans for weather or field conditions. The field is a long hill that slopes upward away from the start/finish. Rules for American Kennel Club Field Titles To earn the Junior Courser (JC) title, A hound running alone shall receive a certification from a judge on one date and a second certification from a different judge on a later date stating the hound complete a 600 yard course with a minimum of four turns." The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption. Qualified Courser (Test): A hound at least 12 months of age (Qualifying Hound) running with another hound of the same breed - or another breed with a similar running style - (Testing Hound) shall receive certification from a licensed judge. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption, sufficiently course the lure and not course the Testing Hound. The judge will certify that the Qualifying Hound ran cleanly and did not appear to present a hazard to the Testing Hound at any point in the qualifying course. This certificate is required to enter a hound in an Open Stake. The handler presenting the Qualifying Hound shall be responsible for providing the Testing Hound for the qualifying course. It is strongly recommended that every Qualifying Hound have been run previously alone and that to the handler s satisfaction runs cleanly and keenly. It is additionally recommended that every Qualifying Hound practices with other hounds prior to being presented for a qualifying courser test. It is to be understood by all that training prior to running a hound with other hounds in competition is essential to ensure that the hound is prepared to run safely with other hounds. To earn the Senior Courser (SC) title, a dog must run at four (4) trials, with a least one other hound and get qualifying scores, under at least two different Judges or judging panels. A qualifying score is 50% of the total available points from the judges. At these same trials, if a dog also wins a placement, it can earn points towards the AKC Field Championship titles. To earn the Master Courser (MC) title, a dog must complete the Senior Courser title and then earn an additional twenty-five (25) qualifying scores (with competition) in either Open, Veteran or Special stake. To earn a Field Champion (FC) title, your dog must earn 15 points, including two (2) first placements worth three (3) points or more under two (2) different Judges or judging panels. Points are earned for first, second, or third place depending on the number of dogs for that breed competing. A dog that has earned its Field Championship can be entered in the Specials stake where it can compete for the Senior Courser, Master Courser or Lure Courser Excellent title. To earn the Lure Courser Excellent (LCX) title, a dog must be a Field Champion and then earn an additional forty-five (45) points. The title of Lure Courser Excellent is a cumulative title, each time the dog accrues an additional 45 championship points it would be eligible to receive the title level. (LCX II, LCX III, LCX IV, etc) NOTE: FSS breeds are eligible for suffix titles (JC, SC, MC) only.

CONDITIONS Hounds that are disqualified from AKC, ASFA, or CKC Field Trials may not be entered. Hounds must be 1 year of age or older on the day of the test or trial. Stakes will be split whenever the entry is sufficient to award two or more five point majors. The winner(s) of the Specials Stake, Open Stake and Open-Veteran Stake will compete for Best of Breed. Bitches known to be in season should NOT be brought onto the trial grounds. Each entry will be examined at inspection for AKC breed disqualifications. Spayed and neutered hounds without AKC breed disqualifications are eligible to participate. Monorchid or cryptorchid hounds are ineligible to participate Bitches in season, hounds with AKC breed disqualifications and lame hounds will be excused and the entry fee refunded. Hounds not present at roll call will be scratched after a five-minute grace period. Battery powered, continuous loop lure system will be used. Backup equipment will be available. The lure will consist of white plastic strips. A $5.00 fine will be assessed for any loose hound interfering with the course in progress. A $20.00 fine will be assessed to any owner not cleaning up after their hound. Any person may, upon reasonable complaint, be asked to leave the grounds of the field trial by the Field Trial Committee. FOOD There are food concessions on the show grounds. FACILITIES The coursing field is mowed airport fields. Plan on bringing your own shade and water. CONTACT INFO Phone number at the field is (519) DIRECTIONS From all points East: I-84 West to Exit 17. Make left off of exit ramp onto Ludingtonville Rd. Go to end and make a right onto Rt. 52. Go about 6.2 miles to Old Rt. 52. The Stormville Post Office (white building) is on the right and a sign for Stormville is a few hundred feet before it. Make a right at that intersection and another right at the gas station (Rt 216). The show site is approximately 1 mile on the right. From all points West: I-84 East to Exit 15. Make right onto Lime Kiln Rd. Go about 1 mile to end. Make a right onto Rt. 52 and go about 3 1/2 miles to Rt Make a left on Rt 216 and go about 2 miles to the show site on the right. From Taconic State Parkway North or South: Exit at Rt 52 and go East. Go about 1.1 miles to Rt Make a left on Rt. 216 and go about 2 miles to the show site on the right. No campers or commercial vehicles are allowed on the TSP. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION JC tests will be available from 10 am to 12 noon on both days come over and run your JC any time during this period, when it fits into your show schedule. These trials are being held on the grounds of, and in conjunction with, the Putnam Kennel Club all breed shows. Conformation judging for sighthounds will be in the morning, to allow exhibitors to compete in both events. Please support them with entries in conformation, obedience or rally. It is a great opportunity to showcase what our sighthounds can do. Practice for all breeds will be available following the trial. Proof of inoculation must be presented if requested.
