4 Lot 1 *Dutch Auction Treeline Felicity Purebred Doe Treeline Boers is pleased to donate Treeline Felicity Reg. #CR31955 for the first CGMA Dutch Auction to benefit Youth Programs Going back 14 years ago, to the summer of 2002, three of our sons decided to start a business venture of raising meat goats, and Treeline Boers was born! They were just teenagers at the time, ages 15, 13 and 11. It was a great learning and growing opportunity for them, and also for me, as their Mom, working alongside and helping them with their new venture. Before this, they ran a small egg laying operation my boys were always thinking of ways to earn money out in the country, where your typical part-time jobs or after school jobs were not really feasible (mom was not going to drive them 20 minutes into town for a 2 hour shift and then pick them up again!). It was great to see them learn so much over the years about the care of meat goats, the selection of genetics, and the business side of marketing & selling their goats. They developed skills involving communications and making contacts as they matured, working together as a team. From the summer of 2002 to the fall of 2008 they built up their herd. They erected a large goat barn, fenced a 20 acre pasture and also built a goat shelter across the road. Their reputation as breeders in the meat goat industry was becoming known as their experience increased. The fall all of 2008 brought many changes to what the boys wanted to do: I bought some of the boys goats and continued Treeline Boers. Our oldest son took on full ownership of some of the goats and started Pryme Farms with his wife. The two other brothers went on to college and focused on other careers that interested them (welding and arboriculture). So, it is easy to see why we are thrilled to be able to donate this Cdn. Purebred young doe - she will be auctioned off to raise funds that will go toward programs that will mentor and encourage our future goat producers. These young farmers will then be able to take advantage of these Youth programs offered by the CMGA! Treeline Felicity will be 11 months old at sale time, and is straight out of our replacement doe pen. She is sired by Pryme Bad Mama Jama, which is fitting as this buck was purchased by Treeline Boers from Pryme Farms, thus showing our confidence and admiration in the direction and hard work Ryan and Christie have put into building up the genetics in their herd since venturing on their own. She is out of first time mom Staveley Fair Maiden, out of a line of hard working and efficient does from Staveley Farms. This is another breeder I greatly admire for the integrity, care, devotion, research, and work ethic they have put into building up a great boer goat herd. Treeline Felicity is a Canadian Purebred 99%. I have been an outspoken proponent for the value of the hardy and productive Canadian Purebred doe over the years, so this was a natural choice for us to offer! Felicity is a twin, teated 1 & 1, has a good bite, is out of a hardworking family, and would make an amazing addition to your herd! So now it is up to you! Now it s your turn to do your part and support our Youth as they are our future farmers. Lot 1 will be sold by Dutch Auction benefitting CGMA Youth Programs and initiatives. 3

5 Treeline Boers, Greta Prins Thank you to Greta Prins, Treeline Boers, for her generous donation of Treeline Felicity. All proceeds from the sale of this doe go directly to CMGA Youth programs and initiatives. Anna Haupt chairs the CMGA Youth Committee and is passionate about growing the CMGA youth programs. Treeline Felicity will be sold by Dutch Auction as lot #1 in the sale. Dutch Auction Procedure Bidding will begin like regular auction. The final bid in Round 1 will denote the amount of that bidders donation (Eg. Round 1 Final Bid of $250 to John Doe. Johns donation is $250. Round 2 Final Bid of $200 to Tom Jones. Tom s donation is $200. Round 3 the doe is re-auctioned on a downward scale until no further bids are received) Each $10 increment purchased (donated) represents one ticket into a draw (Eg. John Doe gets 25 tickets, Tom gets 20, and so on down the scale). One ticket for every $10 dollars, bearing the contributors name, will be entered into the draw. At the end of the AGM, one ticket will be drawn with that person winning Treeline Felicity! To promote biosecurity and animal health, no animals are on site sale day. All animals are sold by video so they can be picked up direct from the farm of origin and retain their health status. 4

6 Lot 2 Buyers Choice ONE Purebred Buck Kid OR Any TWO Commercial Buck Kids If you are looking for a junior herdsire in 2016, have a look here! Whether you are searching for a quality registered purebred buck or a couple bucks for your commercial operation, this might be the lot for you. For this year's edition of the Share Your Herd Sale, Springvalley will be offering the buyer's first choice of the 2016 buck kid crop. The buyer has the option to choose any ONE purebred buck kid OR any TWO commercial buck kids! These kids are on the ground now, born between mid-january to late February and showing some great early potential. This year's kid crop is sired by the pictured bucks: Pryme Pirate Flag VG87, a high classifiying buck who threw our growthiest kids in 2015 and sired by a buck that has left his mark in the Pryme herd for many years now, EGGS Eggstra Flash N Chrome VG88 and out of Pryme Talk Is Cheap VG86. Du Sillon Rockstar VG87 - a solid, heavy muscled buck working here for the first time this year, sired by the Permanent Champion meat machine, BBR Bullseye VG89 and out of an Excellent classified dam. Du Biquet Conviction- from winning show lines this buck has grown out beautifully and put some really attractive kids on the ground last year when paired on our first time kidders. He s sired by the VG89 Classified Show Me Boers Righteous Comet and out of Du Biquet Camomille VG87. All buck kids will have GHIP performance data available to help you make your choice. The bulk of our herd (herd sires and dams) are classified, providing some proof of structural soundness for longevity purposes. Many dams have multiple years of GHIP data available on kids to give an idea of lifetime production and several of them have been shown successfully, further speaking to their strength of conformation. Our herd consists of breeding does with a focus on soundness and kid growth. The herd is a working herd with an expectation of growthy kids. Our primary business is our family run butcher shop so we recognize the need for meat animals that are true to their purpose. Does are kept on pasture through the summer and fed a baleage based diet through the winter months. Kids are limit creep fed and come fully vaccinated with Tasvax. Feel free to contact us with any questions and watch our facebook page Springvalley Boer Goats for pictures of kids as we approach sale day! Pryme Pirate Flag VG87 Du Sillon Rockstar VG87 We ask that the successful bidder make their kid selection by May 31th and make arrangements for pick-up of their animal within 6 weeks of their choice buckling(s) being weaned. 7 Lot 3 Buyers Choice Choice Pick of Any of Our 2016 Kid Crop Different groups of does will be kidded throughout January, March and May SLF Ranch has been involved in the goat industry since We pride ourselves in breeding and maintaining a herd of ranch raised goats. We have a variety of genetics that we have selected through the years from coast to coast. We maintain a herd of around 150 purebred, percentage and commercial Boer goats. Our herd sires used this year, to which the offspring on offer will be off of are: EGGS Not So Little C545 EGGS Infusion C572 Du Biquet High Tech The doe herd is run on pasture all summer and throughout the fall season. Nobody gets special attention whether they are purebred or commercial. They are all ran as a herd together and managed all the same way. Throughout the winter months, they are grouped into breeding pens and run with a buck for 2 ½ - 3 months. Bucks are then pulled and female inventory is grouped back together until kidding time. We expect or herd to survive on high quality hay over the winter months and will be supplemented with a pellet if the weather becomes very cold. At kidding time the does are run into the barn as they kid and then are put into a corral for doe/kid pairs. Once kidding is completed they are turned out onto pasture alongside our Speckle Park and Black Angus cow herd for multi species pasture management. Du Biquet High Tech Does are run through our chute system twice a year, dewormed, deloused and feet trimmed. If we need to trim feet more than twice a year, the doe is culled. We are a low maintenance herd and breed for these traits. Bucks are all housed together in a buck pasture and are treated the same as the doe herd during the year. We have many different genetic lines, a mixture of genetics from the past to the newest available at this time. We believe in investing into good sire lines, and keeping the best maternal traits available from our herd does. We have a pretty simple culling program here Breed, produce hardy offspring, don t take much of our time, mother up and wean good kids within 90 days or you don t live here. Simple as that. We fully guarantee all of our breeding stock. If we would not put them back into our herd, we will not sell them to you. We pride ourselves on honesty and integrity in the goat business. The Buyer is asked to have their pick completed by October 1st, SLF Ranch Shay & Laurie Fries (Edgerton, ALBERTA) dang_goat_gang@telus.net 6

The choice is to be made by June 1, Calico Creek Sweet Chili is a daughter of the prolific Kae Ronne Walidah and sired by Maul Red Hot Pepper. Even with two full sisters and a full brother (2015 Agribition Reserve Champion) working in the Calico herd, I had to twist Landon s arm hard to offer this doeling in the choice! DOB March 3, 2015 Traditional coloured, Canadian Purebred, Triplet Teats 1+1 Calico Creek Essence is a super stylish young female that shows a lot of potential for the show ring. She is very smoothly blended and stands on strong feet and legs. She is sired by 3MG Blaster, a buck that has proven himself year after year to be a consistent producer. Nightfall s sire is High Octane Beast From the East, the high seller at the 2014 Agribition sale. Only one other Beast daughter has been sold and all the rest are staying at Calico Creek, so this will be the final shot at a Beast daughter. 10 Lot 6 Galiman Kawi Full blood traditional yearling buck ~ December 11, 2014 From the Galiman herd of Quebec, Andre is offering an elite buck stemming from his most prominent genetics. Galiman Kawi is a fullblood traditional yearling buck born Dec 11, He is twin born and 1+1 clean teated with incredible muscular development. Weighing 208 pounds at 14 months, Kawi shows tremendous growth potential while simultaneously carrying this weight on strong square feet and legs. With such a thick loin and depth of twist in a well-balanced package, Kawi is prime for the show ring! In fact, Kawi was the Grand Champion Buck at Expo St- Anselme 2015, and was picked by CMGA judge Gerald Berube as his #1 choice at the 2015 Quebec judges training forum. Kawi is sired by Richardson Hi-Definition VG-87 who was imported from the USA and has been the Senior Herdsire at Galiman for several years. He was Sr. and Reserve Champion at Expo St. Anselme 2015, as well as Sr. and Reserve Champion at the 2013 Royal. Daughters are now in production at Galiman and are well proving his breeding contribution. Kawi s dam is Galiman Kara VG-85. Andre is pleased to discuss this exciting breeding prospect and can be reached direct on his cell at Here your chance at a well-developed yearling buck who is both ready for the showring and ready to go direct to work! is Chèvrerie Galiman Andre Lussier (St-Hyacinthe, QUEBEC) galiman@cgocable.ca 9

11 Lot 7 Buyers Choice Purebred Buck or Doe Kid from 2016 Kid Crop From the Saskatchewan herd of Stuart Chutter, for this sale only you have first pick of the 2016 purebred kid crop. You can choose a buck or doe kids from the small, but rigorously selected group of purebred does. These purebred does are managed within a large herd of 600 commercial breeding does. Aside from breeding dates, these purebreds are raised under the same extensive, grass-based commercial conditions. They have been on herding projects and leafy spurge weed control projects and have proven their ability to productively raise kids under grass based management. The purebred doe herd represented is small (10 exposed does), but have been culled down to only those able to make exceptional productivity and easy maintenance genetic contributions to the herd. It was never my intention to be a purebred breeder, but these does in my herd continually rise to the top and these genetics are purebreds that deserve preservation in the Canadian herdbook. Details of the current Chutter doe herd can be found in the CLRC database. GSF Little Joe's Horse Two sires are represented in this offering (5 does exposed to each): Giant Stride Little Joe s Horse is a black paint Boer who was used for years on the commercial herd and then moved to the purebreds once the value of his daughters was recognized. His dam was exceptionally prolific, weaning quads four times in her lifetime, and was one of the deepest flanked does I ve ever owned with a tight, picture perfect udder. DSM D42 is a traditionally marked Boer imported from the Don Smith herd of Texas. Don has been a long time pioneer breeder of Boers since the 90 s and TLB Quarter Horse runs a herd of 300 purebred does. The longevity of his breeding program and the ability to select from a large contemporary group led me to seek out his herd genetics. In an effort to find that wrinkly, soggy, deep flanked, South African buck style, I narrowed my buckling purchase to that from the TLB Quarter Horse sire line. Both herdsires are 1+1 clean teated and 71% of the 2015 purebred kid crop were 1+1 clean teated. These does have been culled and selected under the same program as the commercial herd, with no misses, no excuses and no second chances. Three years of GHIP performance testing results with 90 day weights are available on the purebred herd, along with annual linear scores on the dams for teats, udders, maternal behaviour, kidding ease and kid liveliness scores. Kidding starts March 10/16 and the Buyer is asked to make their selection by August 15, 2016 once performance data is compiled. The top bucklings from this purebred group are usually retained for use in the commercial herd and top doelings are not available for sale otherwise. This sale offering is your only chance to access these genetics for 2016 don t miss it! Stuart Chutter (Gull Lake, SASKATCHEWAN) stuchutt@hotmail.com 10
