1 Wilkerson Weekly: Edition 14: May 9th Editors/Writers: Christopher Oh, Thompson Corpus, Jackson Vogel Publisher: Mrs. Wilkerson Book Recommendation: Blood Red Horse (K.M. Grant) Blood Red Horse by K.M. Grant is a riveting tale of friendship, family and trust. Will never got along with his brother, Gavin. Will was always ridiculed and singled out for being small and younger. One day, Will s tension exploded. He fought back. Then, he finds out, that he must serve the Lord and go on a Crusade. They must work together and believe in each other in order to survive. They persevere through troubles, and never give up, even if they must overcome adversity. Will and Gavin continue to strive even if injury causes them to not be capable of certain things. Though they lose friends and gain enemies throughout the book, the two seem to evolve, and create a bond that is strengthened whenever they encounter a problem. Though they may be very different, in the end, they are able to succeed through trust, and brotherhood. 3.5/5 Stars

3 The Animal Of The Week AKITA INU: red Japanese Akita Inu puppy! At first, they begin developing rather dark coats, but at about four months of age, their coats lighten up, and produce a rich cream color, accented with red, similar to the Shiba Inu.
4 The Animal Of The Week Is... (Dog Breed-Look Above) The Akita Inu! The Akita Inu is one of the six rare Spitz breeds from Japan. The Akita Inus tail curves slightly over the back of the Akita Inu The Akita Inu is a very strong dog, but also makes a great therapy dog. The average lifespan of these sturdy dogs is years. The average weight of a female Akita Inu is pounds. The male dog can weigh between pounds, though some can be much more. The Akita Inus first purpose was guarding and protecting royalty and nobility in feudal Japan. The stubborn but smart Akita Inu will never back away. Helen Keller, inspired by the tale of the loyal dog Hachiko, brought the first Japanese Akitas to the United States! Hachiko is said to have waited for his dead master for over 10 years! The movie Hachi: A Dog s Tale, starring Richard Gere, is a great depiction of the life of the loyal dog, Hachiko. A group of students is collecting pop tabs to benefit One Of A Kind Pets Rescue In Akron!

Straight-forward I seem, but it's only skin deep, for mystery most often lies beneath my simple speech. Sharpen your wits, open your eyes, look beyond my exteriors, read me backwards, forwards, upside down. Think critically and answer the question. What am I? 4. Why did the golfer change his socks? 5. 8 Fun Facts Of The Week (Chipmunks): Chipmunks are being brought into the human world and domesticated. Do your best to stop this from occurring. Chipmunks are able to conceal their burrows so well, that they are very hard to detect, even if a human searches the underbrush and grass. Chipmunks diet mainly consists of seeds, nuts, fruits and buds. They also can eat grass, fungi, worms, small frogs and various insects Chipmunks play a vital role in all ecosystems. They disperse seeds and plants throughout the area. Try not to feed Chipmunks human food, Their small bellies are not designed to break it down and digest it. Chipmunks only weigh about 2-3 ounces! A Golden Retriever weighs nearly 80 pounds! A Chipmunk s litter usually consists of 2-8 newborns. Chipmunks have a relative size to a single teacup. The Chipmunk s classification is as follows: Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Order: Rodentia Family: Sciuridae Tribe: Marmotini Species: Tamias Some of the Chipmunk s predators are hawks, weasels, foxes, coyotes, snakes, and larger rodents. Although Chipmunks hibernate, they do not burn stored fat, but gnaw away at their summer bounty during the winter. Chipmunks are wild animals, not domesticated, and shouldn t be kept as pets. Of all 25 Chipmunk species, only one of them does not inhabit Northern America. Siberian Chipmunks, found in Asia, have a cream coloured torso that looks very nice. Some Chipmunks win food eating contests! A video on YouTube, shows a Chipmunk managing to stuff 9 large almonds in its mouth!
