NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class, for Best of Breed Competition. Veteran Dogs, 7 yrs & under 10 yrs Veteran Bitches, 7 yrs & under 10 yrs Veteran Dogs, 10 yrs & over Veteran Bitches, 10 ys & over Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. *Stud Dog Class - For Stud Dogs shown with at least two and no more than four of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed (Variety) Competition, or some other non-regular class. *Brood Bitch Class - Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. *Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Brace Class - For two Chinese Cresteds (a unit), irrespective of sex, with at least one common owner and shown in the ring with no more than two handlers. Need not be entered in any other class. Mark BRACE on entry form under dog show class or additional class box, whichever is pertinent. Full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising each Brace must be so designated, Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. Submit brace entries clipped AWARD OF MERIT At the conclusion of the regular Best of Breed judging, the judge may at his/her discretion, award up to a maximum of five (5) Awards of Merit. The total number of Awards of Merit the judge is allowed to award is dictated by the total number of Dogs and Bitches entered in the Best of Breed Competition based on 15% of the Best of Breed Entry as follows: Best of Breed Entry Number of Awards Best of Breed Entry Number of Awards up to up to up to up to 4 29 and over... up to 5 A Rosette will be presented to any selected as an Award of Merit. 4 Entry fees include: a $3.00 AKC Event Fee on each entry and a 50 cent AKC recording fee on the first entry. (See: AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2. All fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.) All entries with fees must be in the office of the Event Secretary not later than 5:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 After which time no entries may be accepted, canceled, changed, substituted, corrected, completed, or signed and no entry fees returned. Any change or cancellation must be made in writing and received prior to closing, except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the American Kennel Club Dog Show Rules. 5 TROPHIES and PRIZES Trophies and prizes (including cash prizes) will be awarded in the judging rings to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered to be the owner or agent of the owner. All claims for trophies and other prizes must be made in the judging ring before the completion of the judging and the Show Chairperson advised at once in the event of any discrepancy. No award will be mailed. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. ~ CHALLENGE TROPHY ~ CHALLENGE TROPHY FOR BEST OF BREED: A Chinese Crested Bronze Statue, offered by the CCCSC in memory of Bobbie Ballesteros. Novice Intermediate Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior Class - For Boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present. Open Intermediate Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present. Open Senior Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present. The winner of a third first place in each novice class shall automatically become eligible to enter in the corresponding open class at the show provided the win is the third first place award with competition and further provided there are one or more junior handlers competing in that open class. Notice: Be sure all information for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of the entry form. Junior Handlers must include their AKC Junior Handler identification number on the entry blank. You may obtain your number by calling AKC Event Records Department (919) or juniors@akc.org. By signing the entry form certification is given that the Junior Showman does not now, and will not at any time, act as an agent/handler for pay while continuing to compete in Junior Showmanship. 9 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. Entries must reach the Event Secretary, M.L. (Peggy) Butler, Farm Road, Wildomar, CA 92595, by 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, Fees should accompany entries. The Club and the Event Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. The Club and the Event Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 2. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Event Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 3. Exhibitors confirmations and judging programs will be mailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the Event Secretary. Confirmations returned by the Post Office marked Undeliverable will be held at the Event Secretary s office. PLEASE BRING YOUR CONFIRMATIONS TO THE SHOW. 4. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly in order that judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. Owner of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are respons-ible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, it s owner or handler, when the dog s presence is needed in a judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler that waiting for dogs to be brought into the ring is a courtesy extended to the owner or handler of the dog. There is no rule of these clubs nor the American Kennel Club that requires a judge to wait for an owner or handler to bring his dog into the ring. Show hours 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 5. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the judging ring before the completion of the breed and the superintendents office advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. 6. Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany the premium list. Rule books may be obtained from the A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr. Suite 200, Raleigh, NC The Club, the Event Secretary or the members or employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in add-ition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor/owner or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler/agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 8. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done at least 20 ft. away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club. 9. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Event Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fees for duplicate entry. 10.There is no provision for unentered dogs at this show. 11.The Chinese Crested Club of Southern California, may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof. 12.If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 13.Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. 14.A recording fee of 50 cents per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.) 15.Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Event Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Confirmation judging at the show. 16. No setups/x-pens in Day of Show Parking lot. 17. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. An unloading area will be provided. Please follow the instructions of parking attendants. Day-of-Show parking will be $10.00 per space. Vehicles requiring more than one space (motor homes, etc.) will be parked in the day-of-show overflow parking lot and will be charged $10.00 per space used. No setups or x-pens will be allowed in day-of-show parking lots. No overnight parking will be allowed in the day of show parking lots. Anyone not following KCPS rules risks having his/her vehicle towed at owners expense. No abusive behavior will be tolerated. KCPS and Empire Polo Club assume no responsibility for fire, theft or damage to vehicles or cargo, whether legally or illegally parked. Overnight parking is not permitted on the streets in Indio. SHADE/TENTING: Please be aware that there will be one less grooming tent available than previously. You are advised to bring your own shade, just in case. ELECTRICAL POWER INFORMATION: POWER WILL BE AVAILABLE IN OVERNIGHT PARKING AREAS ONLY. The cost is $45.00 (for 30 amps) or $90.00 (for 50 amps user to provide own adapter) per night 2-night minimum. Requests for power not made in advance, will be $10.00 more (cash), per night. Please make your check payable to Event Power Solutions, but mail it to Ron Mattson. You may use your own generator if you so choose. NOTE: Overnight Parking will be limited to 400 reservations. Assignments to parking lots will be made in the order that reservations are received, and NO PARKING or ELECTRICAL POWER REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER THE CLOSING DATE. 11 KENNEL CLUB OF PALM SPRINGS OVERNIGHT PARKING INFORMATION There are three overnight parking areas: two are adjacent to the show area and one is some distance away. Most of the parking is on decomposed granite. One limited area is on grass, weather permitting. Vehicles parked on grass will be required to have ground cover placed under their generators and exhaust pipes to protect the grass. No dumping of gray water or sewage is allowed. Please note the following parking requirements/restrictions: 1. Those wishing to park together must arrive together. 2. Space changing will not be permitted. All vehicles must park as directed by parking personnel. 3. Confirmation of your reservation will be sent if you enclose a stamped, selfaddressed envelope. 4. All personal generators must be turned off between 11 pm and 6 am daily. 5. All tag vehicles will be required to purchase a tag vehicle pass ($20.00 for the weekend). 6. Tag vehicles must fit into assigned space (not in aisle), or be moved to dayof-show parking area. 7. Any motor home over 40 long must have two spaces. 8. Any truck & trailer over 40 must have two spaces, or unhook; note on form. 9. All parking spaces are 22 wide by 35 long; over 35 will be parked in designated rows. 10. No foul or abusive language will be tolerated; anyone not following parking rules will be asked to leave, and no refunds will be given.
