2 RIBBONS AND PRIZES Please see each club to see classes & prizes offered at that show. ENTRY FEES: For all clubs (each first entry includes $.50 AKC recording fee and $3.00 AKC Event Fee). First entry of dog or bitch..$28.00 Each additional entry of same dog or bitch Puppy classes as the first entry month Puppy Show Bred-By-Exhibitor Veteran and Puppy Sweeps CLASSIFICATION 4-6 Month Puppy Competition Midwest Afghan Hound Club The Four-To-Six Month Puppy competition will be open to dogs that are at least four months of age but under six months on the day of the event. Classes will not be divided by sex in this competition. Entry Fee is $10.00 PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES-check each clubs requirements This sweepstakes is open to all Afghan Hounds, except Champions of record, who will be at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. ENTRY FEE is $ Dogs must be entered in one of the regular classes at the regular fee. Entriesshall be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular class entry by marking Sweepstakes in the Additional Classes space on the entry form. All entry fees for puppy sweeps will be divided as follows: After 35% has been deducted by the club for expenses, the remainder will be divided as follows: First 40% Second 30% Third 20% Fourth 10% Sweepstakes Classes for Dogs and Bitches are as follows: Puppy 6 months and under 9 months; Puppy 9 months and under 12 months Junior 12 months and under 15 months; Junior 15 months and under 18 months REGULAR CLASSES The following classes are offered for both dogs and bitches: Regular Classes: Puppy 6 months to under 9 months; Puppy 9 months to under 12 months; Junior 12 months to under 18 months; Bred-By-Exhibitor; American Bred; Open; Best of Breed BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY (REVISED 09-02) The Bred-By-Exhibitor Class shall be for dogs that are: -Six months of age or older as of the first day of the show: -Not Champions of record on the date of closing of entries for the show; - Individually registered with the AKC as of the closing date for the show; - Owned or co-owned by any of the breeders of record as of the closing date for the show; - The person handling the dog in this class must be a breeder of record and an owner of record of this dog; - In any subsequent classes for which the dog from Bred-By-Exhibitor class becomes eligible, there are no restrictions as to who may handle. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS AND HANDLERS - Car and van parking is $5 per day. A weekend pass can be purchased on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for $15, $12 and $8 respectively. - Overnight parking is $25 per night or $60 for the weekend. - Electricity is not available on the site nor are there sewer hook-ups. 1

3 Quiet time generators are to be shut off between 11:30 PM and 6:30 PM. Exceptions are at the discretion of the day s Show Chair. - The All Breed Grooming Shelter provided for Saturday & Sunday will not be available until 8:30 PM Friday due to it being used for Friday s Exhibitor Dinner - Canopies (Pop Up tents) not permitted outside of parking areas - This is a self clean-up weekend. You are required to take care of your business. - No grooming tables, exercise pens or crates are permitted under the tents housing rings. -Smoking is not permitted under the tents housing the rings or the covered all-breed grooming area. - The health, safety and life of any dog on the grounds is paramount to other property and privacy rights. All vehicle owners on grounds waive their right to legal actions or damages should it be necessary to rescue dogs from the confines of an overheated vehicle. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS REFUNDS: Entry fees will not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. SHOW CANCELLATION: If because of riot, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as but not limited to extreme heat, snowstorms, lightning or hurricanes must be considered for the health and safety of our dogs, judges and fanciers. The wellbeing of dogs and participants is of paramount importance and in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES is WEDNESDAY, JULY PM at the show sec y home, after which time entries cannot be accepted, cancelled or substituted except as provided for in Chapter 11, section 6 of the Dog Show Rules. THE OWNER or duly authorized agent must sign entry forms, otherwise entry cannot be accepted. Entries must be on official AKC entry forms. Photocopies of entry forms without the agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. MAIL ALL ENTRIES WITH FEES TO: HOLLY MILLER, 4382 Wayne Rd. Mantua, Ohio ( ) Entries received without fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as practical. Should such acknowledgement not be received, please contact the show secretary. (include for acknowledgement of receipt of entry). DECLINATION OF ENTRIES The Midwest Afghan Hound Club, Afghan hound Club of Greater Columbus and The Afghan Hound Club of Southwestern Ohio will deny entry due to outstanding obligations to the club. The clubs will also withhold armbands from any person whose check was returned until such time as payment is made good in cash. NO ENTRY shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS: Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after published date. No refund for duplicate entries. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.. CHANGES, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or (pennybank@roadrunner.com) prior to close of entries. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. ALL dogs present must be held on leash or crated except when being judged. CASH PRIZES and trophies must be claimed in the ring before the judging is over for the day. No trophies will be mailed. 2

NOTE: Dogs, which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose championships are unconfirmed may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed, provided this transfer is made by the Show Sec y ½ hour PRIOR TO JUDGING at the show. 11 SWEEPSTAKES Entry Fee: $14.00: The sweepstakes is open to all Afghan Hounds who on the date of the show will be six months of age and under eighteen months of age. All dogs entered in the sweepstakes MUST be entered in a regular class of the show, and the entry form must state Sweepstakes (and the class division) in the space provided for additional classes.
