Due to cost of processing no refunds of $5.00 and under will be made. There is a $4.00 fee for any entry cancellations. A Recording Fee of.50 cents and a Service Fee of $3.00, $3.00 Rally Fee will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial, Rally Trial or Tracking Test. These Fees are to be collected by the Show -giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Fees are to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Event Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. Post Dated Checks, Returned Checks and Declined Credit Cards, do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Secretaries will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. The returned check or declined credit card MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. This club and it s Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agents entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready for judging. In order that the judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. Owners of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. It is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show giving club to locate any dog, its owner or hander, when the dogs presence is needed in the judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler to bring his dog into the ring. The club, its secretaries or their employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by an exhibitor or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show grounds. Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Secretaries Office advised at once. The Secretaries and show-giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. Trophies and Prizes will be awarded in the judging ring before the completion of judging, any discrepancies must be reported to the Secretary prior to completion of judging. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Conformation judging at the Show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class after the closing of entries may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Secretary at least one half hour prior to the scheduled start of the earliest Conformation judging or one half hour prior to the start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show, whichever is earlier. Please DO NOT LEAVE ANY DOGS IN CLOSED VEHICLES. Do not leave your dogs in unlocked cars. If any dogs are seen to be suffering from extreme temperatures where it is confined without supervision, a California Humane Officer or a Security Officer will be notified to handle the situation. Violators may be reported to the Show Committee for disciplinary action. all persons attending this show hereby waive any claim for damages against the show giving clubs or their members in the event a motor vehicle has to be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or improperly vented conditions. THIS IS A SELF CLEANING SHOW, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS. The show giving club, the show secretary their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators or to their dogs or property. A report that an exhibitor/spectator at these shows has abused hotel property or verbally abused employees during this weekend may result in Event Committee (AKC) disciplinary action. Novice Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 October 31 of the following year..all Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. Each dog handled in a Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the show, or must be entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog may be substituted. Such substitution must be accompanied by an official AKC entry form. All such substitutions must be made one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship Classes at the show. Each dog must be owned or co-owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler's father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather or grandmother, including step and half relations or by a member of the Junior Handler's household. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Shows or in Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a Breed Judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the Veterinarian for the protection of the other dogs at the show or for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging or one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show, whichever is earlier. Winning of first place in an Open Class at this show may qualify or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes. For information on eligibility requirements for limited Junior Showmanship Classes which have been approved to date by AKC, check online at Junior Handler's must include their AKC Junior Handler identification number on the entry blank. 5 SET UP ON GROUNDS ATTENTION EXHIBITORS There are plenty of tree shaded areas on the perimeter of the park. We recommend all exhibitors bring their own personal pop-up tents. There will be designated areas for set-up. Mats will be allowed on the grass at this park. This is a self-cleaning show. All exhibitors will be responsible for the clean-up of their dogs. This includes aisles, all surrounding areas and parking lots. We appreciate your cooperation in assisting us in maintaining these outstanding show grounds. No vehicles permitted on grass near rings. No alcohol is permitted. No smoking is allowed under the Hound Classic tents. No exercise pens or crates are allowed under the judging tents, aisles or Pop-Ups at ringside ropes. No generators are permitted on the grass, or near rings. No personal golf carts on the show grounds. No access to the show grounds on Wednesday. No access to the show grounds before Noon Thursday. Bitches Bred By Exhibitor Dogs Bred By Exhibitor Bitches Bred By Exhibitor Class Eligibility: All dogs entered in the Bred By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog, and 3) family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in this class. American Bred Dogs American Bred Bitches Amateur Owner Handler Dogs Amateur Owner Handler Bitches Open Dogs Open Bitches WINNERS DOG WINNERS BITCH NON-REGULAR CLASSES, INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES Veterans Class (divided by Sex). Divisions as follows: 7 Years and Under 10 Years & 10 Years and Older **PLEASE NOTE: REGULAR VETERAN CLASS DIVISION DIFFER FROM VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES** *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a Neutered Male or Spayed Bitch may be entered as a Veteran. Coursing Class (divided by Sex). For dogs and bitches who are AKC registered and are confirmed lure coursing champions or open field coursing champions Titles may be earned from any recognized coursing organization. NOTE: Exhibitor MUST supply proof of eligibility for the class with entry. A copy of the certificate awarding the title or a copy of the ENTIRE PAGE from either the AKC Awards or FAN magazine publishing the title will be accepted as proof and MUST accompany the entry form. First place winners are eligible for Best of Breed competition provided all AKC eligibility and requirements have been met. Winners of the above class are eligible to compete in Best of Breed Competition. Best of Breed (No defeated dogs will be allowed to compete) The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class: For dogs that have sired two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of two of the get. The owner of the stud dog need not be the owner of the get. As the judge s decision in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. The Stud Dog must appear in the ring with two of his get and be entered in the Stud Dog class. Brood Bitch Class: Same as for Stud Dog, but replace get for produce. Extended Generation: The class entry must be made up of a minimum of 3 generations of Salukis with one direct descendent from each successive generation, i.e. Dogs A,B, C: A is sire/dam of B who is sire/dam of C. Judge s decision is based on merits and likeness of get. The Winner is not eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Brace Class: For two dogs or bitches of the same breed with identical ownership. PARADE OF VETERANS This is a non-competitive class. Entrants must be seven (7) years of age or older. Each Veteran will be presented with a rosette with the dog s name embossed in gold leaf. Entry is $8.00. Please provide a paragraph with the dog s achievements AWARDS OF MERIT Often times at a specialty, the number of quality dogs in competition far exceeds the number of top awards available. The judge must choose only one Best of Breed, one Best of Opposite Sex, one Grand Champion Select dog and one Grand Champion Select Bitch Receiving an Award of Merit rosette acknowledges that this Saluki was under consideration for one of these awards and indicates recognition of an exceptional Saluki who could, on another day, merit a top award. The San Angeles Saluki Club allows for 3 Awards of Merit to be presented in addition to Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Grand Champion Select Dog and Grand Champion Select Bitch. The judge may, at his discretion, award all or none of the rosettes.
